He very patiently checked our sewer lines and drains with a flashlight to confirm that everything was clear. He was able to confirm that the ten Invade Bio Drain gel treatments that we have applied have been successful in clearing the drains of organic matter as far as the flashlight could reach. He was punctual, honest, and did not perform any unnecessary services. He also was able to determine that the source of the infestation issue is likely tied to drainage issues in the backyard, as well as the storm drains in the front of the house. The total for the consultation came to $85.00. We were pleased with this service and will not hesitate to contact Drain Kings for any other plumbing-related services.

The other year I started to have a leak again in something they recently fixed. I ended up opening the toilet only to discover they never replaced the part the month before they charged me for, it was the original and old part. I specifically asked them to change it and they billed me for it. So then I was left wondering, let me check the other things they claimed to replace over the years. One by one, only to discover they didn't replace the parts, only adjusted them. So, turns out they didn't replace the parts in our toilets like they charged for. So yes, I am disappointed. So I'm confused as to why I was charged for new parts when they were never installed.

In June we were unfortunate enough to experience a sewer break in the wall between our second floor…read moreand basement. As you can imagine it was a mess with sewage on the floor and seeping into our neighbor's house, not to mention expensive. Pray to the plumbing Gods that this never happens to you! Many years ago I worked for a plumbing company so I knew right off the bat this would be thousands to repair. With my go to (Ranck's Plumbing) no longer in business I had no choice but to seek a new plumber, one that had a sewer camera, and could come right away. An online search of plumbers with cameras yielded very few results in my area. I called a few and left messages. Ober's was a company I found on Yelp for having good & honest reviews and they were local which was a huge plus. I took a chance on them having a camera and was thankful that they did. Jerry, the owner was awesome! He even came to my house for a free consult to make sure he could run the camera before he sent his crew over - that was much appreciated! My house is almost 100 years old so there was some fear of the unknown. At the free consult he spent a considerable amount of time exploring possible scenarios and discussing options. Jerry is very hands on and explains things in a way you can understand without judgement. Once he determined the camera could be ran I provided the key and returned to work. Jerry and his crew did the rest. Within hours I had a verbal quote. Was it expensive? Yes, spending a few thousand for something you can't see is alot of money, but sewer is a necessity. Although I don't have anything to compare it to other than my experience in this field many years ago I do feel his price was fair and most likely considerably less than what larger firms would charge for the same scale of work. I especially liked that Jerry understood that I wanted the least invasive option available and was sensitive to my request not rip out my newer kitchen to gain access. To save money hubby did some of the demo with Jerry's instruction. Since we're talking about a considerable amount of money I didn't feel comfortable with a verbal quote alone. However once I requested one in writing Jerry provided one the next day in great detail. The work took a few days to complete, and a few days till they could start due to some issues with our insurance adjuster. During that time-period Jerry was always accessible, answered all of our questions, and took our many phone calls without issue or attitude. Once the insurance adjuster was out of the way he was prompt to get us on the schedule so we could have use of our facilities again. The work was completed as promised and my house was left in satisfactory condition. While they did comply with my request to lock up daily, a light was left on the first day. So why 4 stars instead of 5? I always feel a little uncomfortable asking for something that I feel should be standard (in this case a written quote). They do things old school so they couldn't email the quote but were able to fax it. The price of running the camera is expensive and it's standard procedure to record the process to show the homeowner exactly what the problem is. While they do have the camera they don't use the video and didn't relay this to me until I asked. While I'm so thankful for Jerry and his team and to have this experience in my rear view window I would/will use Ober's again and would happily recommend him to anyone seeking an honest, fair, local, knowledge plumber.

Since this service appears to be listed on their website, I simply asked whether they perform that type of work. The representative immediately told me "no." When I mentioned that their website suggests otherwise and asked if she could verify with someone, she placed me on hold and returned asking for my name, company, and whether I was a third party. I explained that before providing all of my information, I just wanted confirmation that Ranck actually performs the service. Instead of answering the question, she insisted the answer was contingent on those details. I asked whether those questions had any bearing on whether the company offers the service at all, and she again stated that the answer depended on who I was. As someone calling about what could have been a significant commercial project, I found the interaction frustrating and unwelcoming. A simple, "Let me check and confirm whether we offer that service," would have gone a long way. I ended up thanking her for her time and chose to not pursue the conversation any further the whole experience was just very distasteful.
