When seeking a hospice facility for my mother this location was highly recommended to us by the UW social worker assigned to her case. It was not the only one we visited though, which is a good thing because this was definitely not the place we wanted for her to spend her final days in. For starters their hospice wing was at capacity. As a result they were placing hospice cases on their transitional wing, which is for patients which are rehabbing out. They advised that they couldn't guarantee a single room, so my mother could end up sharing a room with somebody who is not on hospice. We passed several of these rooms and the patients inside had their TV's up super loud. The administrative and nurses stations were packed and crazy loud with employees joking and yelling back and forth, and on one end of the wing they were doing construction work and there was a sign hanging up on the tarp saying excuse our noise. Considering that a loved one may spend days to years on hospice, this is far from where I wanted my mom to be. I am sure that at some point when the construction is completed and more rooms are available that this will be a very nice place. For now though I would recommend avoiding it if you can. read more

My husband had to recover at a skilled nursing facility. Kline Galland was highly rated. Based on the reviews and referrals, my husband chose this facility. . The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. They have a nice dining room and there is definitely a nice feel to the place. Unfortunately, my husband spent a lot of time in his bed. They did not promote PT and OT. Your muscles can atrophy very quickly. He had a half an hour of PT once a day. He them walked around the gym. He was always urged to go back to the room and rest. The meals were adequate. The Nurses and CNA's were quite kind and helpful. My husband is now at home and recovering nicely. Hopefully you will have a pleasant experience at Kline Galland. read more

I was in a different skilled nursing facility and paid my transfer to obtain continued services from Kline Galland. The nursing care from my perspective as a retired registered nurse is excellent. Dr. Lin is quite attentive to my care needs. The therapy department monitors my activities and provides Services based on my care needs. I'm an active participant in my healthcare and I look forward to going home when I have a safe discharge plan in place. If the patient is incapable of being an active participant in their care, and I was strongly urge the family to ask for care conferences regarding their concerns. The staff here are quite willing to face criticism and make corrections when needed. I would recommend this place over all the other skilled nursing facilities in this area read more

I brought my loved one here because he has FTD. Obviously, he was in the memory care unit. One would think he would be watched. Because he was wandering and a bit feisty, they said I would have to pay for a one-on-one at $50.00 per hour, 24 hours per day. Kline Galland staff lost him three times. The first time, he walked out of the building. The second time, the one-on-one had to go to the bathroom and left him outside without supervision. She failed to notify the staff. The third time, he fled out a door, and the staff said they couldn't watch him every minute. I would highly recommend not ever sending a love one here for any type of care. read more

I am at Kline Galland now and have been surprised by the reports here of happiness with the place. One of my problems is with the food. As an agnostic in an orthodox institution I have found it difficult to untangle the rules that prevent eating freely, and when, with work, I have found loopholes provided for getting around those rules, I have been surprised by the contrast between what is written on a menu and what arrives on the plate. The first is sometimes an imagined delight, the second, a dashed dream. So, in short, it amounts to a difficult puzzle and unlikable food. This situation has me frequently wishing I could escape this place immediately. Also very troubling is the fact that K G has somehow lost my wallet, which held a few crucial credit cards and my driver's license. They show no signs of trying to locate it or the shoes and clothes that were also in one large plastic bag that came with me in the ambulance that brought me here from the hospital. I can agree, though, with reports here on Yelp that the employees here and the physical rehab programs and facilities are excellent. read more

I just spent 2 mos at Kline Galland while recuperating from multiple fractures from a hit&run Christmas nite 2024. I chose because I thought they had a good reputation . I was transferred to an Adult Family Home on the 6th after Medicare decided I no longer required skilled nursing care. My experience is stay vigilant with your personal belongings. I'm missing my wallet & many ID cards. I've had to replace my debit card and my drivers license. Luckily, I had a duplicate Medicare card at home, those are just the ones I can remember. I'm also missing two long sleeve T-shirts that the laundry appears to have lost in spite of the fact that they have name tags on them. The t-shirts aren't as big a deal as my wallet which may have also had cash in it. sadly I don't remember. I've reported this is to the social workers & the nursing station, so far haven't heard anything. I'm thinking of reporting it to the police just to get attention on it. Light-fingered employees are a red flag. If you have someone there keep track of your stuff! read more

After A total knee replacement, we were referred by the discharge coordinator for home physical therapy. We were given an appointment date. Kline Galland Home Health had no idea who the patient is. We gave them details and cleared things up. They are going to send a therapist the next week. Instead an interviewer dropped by. She mentioned the company was short staffed. Finally they sent occupational therapist instead of a physical therapist. Two weeks post op TKA., still with no physical therapy. My brother got fed up and went for different agency. Why accept a patient if they are short staffed and unable to provide the service. Initially, the agency called that they are going to reschedule an appointment but later rescinded on the same day . The agency sent an occupational therapist instead of physical therapist I will give the discharge nurse who referred us to this agency a feedback. read more

We just took my mom here for rehab after 2 weeks in the hospital. She was fine when she got there and only needed pt and ot for strength. Within 2 days she was delirious and in pain. i told them she was acting like she was when she had uti in the hospital and they said no it's from the tramadol and transition. They left my 100 year old mother for over 6 hours in a depends when she had a uti, they didn't feed her and the next day they did the same they didn't feed her and her gown was soaked through and they only changed her after I told them to. They were rude and dismissive and now my mom is back in the hospital. Do not take anyone to this awful place!!! read more

The basement memory care facility is a substandard placement where you don't want your loved ones to go if you have any compassion for them. Hospice care is as minimal as it can get and nobody on the hospice team is jewish. Including the "pastor." read more

My mother spent several years in their long-term care wing and was treated very well. The staff were attentive and called whenever they needed direction on her care or had recommendations for care. They also took her for outside doctor appointments as needed. Then early this year (2022), my mother's health was failing badly at 91 and was moved to their Hospice wing. As I live across the country, this was the period when I spent the most time at the Kline Galland facility and got to see the day-to-day workings, as well as get to know the staff, close up. I was extremely impressed and thankful for the care the kind staff (e.g., Marna, Kayla, Angelica, Kelly and Jennifer) provided. Thank you so very much for providing such loving care to a frail (and sometimes difficult!) woman who was my mother. read more

This place deserves the accolades that it gets. I wanted my mother to be in a top notch facility for her rehab after a hospital stay and a hard fall that hurt her back. She's 85 years old and one of the more fit patients at KG. They were helpful, attentive and best of all they didn't hamper her progress based on the status quo. They saw that she was ahead of the curve and made sure that she got everything that she needed in terms of physical therapy. Everyone there was super nice, and accommodating. I'm very happy that I picked KG for my mother. In doing research on all of the other rehab facilities, she would not have been happy at others. I truly understand why this place gets five stars from a lot of people. My mother also said that the food was outstanding as well. I was very scared of my mom going into a rehab facility, but KG made me feel at ease when she was there, because I knew she was going to be well cared for. I recommend them to anybody that has someone that needs rehabilitation after a hospital stay. These people are top-notch. read more

Over the past 10 years I've had 5 operations requiring rehab prior to my going home. As a new resident to Seattle and new to rehab needs, I chose another facility first. I left there without spending even one night. (Imagine One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest.) By accident my son came across Kline-Galland. I couldn't have been happier with that choice. From the greeting we received by admissions to the well staffed nurses stations to the cleanliness of the entire facility to the competent and friendly care givers, it's a great facility. One of my closest friends in Seattle has been in the transitional care unit (TCU) at Kline Galland Home for the past three months. He went there after a major surgery because he needed some extra time and help with his recovery due to some additional complicating health conditions. Many of the individual nurses, NACs, and physiotherapists at Kline Galland Home are truly caring and excellent at their very difficult jobs. And the kitchen staff there is nothing short of a team of super-heroes. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the Director of Therapy who will lie to your face if that's what he thinks it will take to get you out of his office and who I've caught on multiple occasions telling his team to do the exact opposite from what is best practice, apparently out of spite (though he always has some story explaining his idiotic decision-making, after the fact). I wish I could say that despite all this my friend has been doing a little better each day and will be headed home soon. Unfortunately his health has significantly deteriorated during his stay there. I attribute this to the staff at Kline Galland Home's inability or unwillingness to take into consideration his particular needs as expressed by my friend himself as well as myself and his family members. Crazily, my friend who was supposed to go home a few weeks after his surgery will probably continue to suffer for at least several more weeks at Kline Galland Home as the health deterioration he has experienced there is making it hard to place him elsewhere. If you have a friend or family member who is needing transitional care between a hospitalization and returning home DO NOT under any circumstances send them to Kline Galland. Unless you actually don't care if they will get better and hope that they will die or something. Kline Galland is probably a pretty good place to go to die. read more

I was very unhappy with the care my elderly aunt received at Kline Galland during her 5 week "rehab" stay. Before breaking her hip she had never worn diapers. At Kline Galland they left her in a diaper, in bed 23 hours/day. She had alternating OT and PT appointments, 1 or the other, Mon-Sat. lasting 45 minutes including travel time to other parts of the building. (Care conferences = 1 physical therapy appointment, so asking to meet with the PT staff meant less PT.) The rest of the time she was left to lie in bed, getting progressively more bedsore, and developed a rash in her groin and a UTI from sitting in a diaper. Again and again I asked the PT staff and social worker "What about the other 23 hours per day? Why isn't the staff walking her to the toilet and back? Why isn't she helped to walk to the chair since she should be sitting up?" The one time, when she first arrived, that they walked her to the toilet my aunt said that they left her on the toilet alone for nearly an hour. She would push the button in her room and no one would come. When visiting I would frequently go find the staff myself after she'd waited quite a long time for a response. When they'd finally come more often than not the staff were sullen and at times flat out hostile. I watched one staffer flip her over so fast in bed I thought she'd fall off the other side of the bed. When she expressed pain being moved in bed she said was told "it's supposed to hurt." When I asked about someone saying that to her I was told that they probably meant "It's expected it will hurt." After my complaints the PT put a sign in the room telling staff to get her up out of bed and sitting in a chair for all meals, and walk her to the toilet. The toileting never happened. The sitting in a chair for meals only happened at dinner in the final 2 weeks (probably because they knew that's when I would arrive). A male CNA would lift her up like a doll and sit her in the chair, rather than helping her to do it herself - even though guiding her to do it herself is what the PT said they should be doing so she could get stronger. The PT told me that there should be a log of her time out of bed, but when I asked to see it - despite having medical power of attorney - the RN flatly refused. My aunt was supposed to use a spirometer throughout the day to avoid getting pneumonia and to keep her lungs working well, and the staff rarely if ever reminded her to do it. I would come to visit and the device would be across the room where she couldn't reach it. This happened repeatedly. Her phone was also continually moved across the room where she couldn't reach it. The room was full of ants and when she was brought a recliner chair from another room, that too was full of ants. When they finally sprayed the room they took her to another room temporarily and left her alone for so long with no information on what was happening that my aunt believes one shift forgot to tell the next where she was. Finally, on the day she was being released I was told by one of the RNs that the PT had never approved 1 person transfer, which meant 2 staffers were needed to get my 85lb aunt out of bed (oddly, since the male CNA who picked her up like a doll didn't have another person with him), and Kline Galland was too short staffed to have 2 staff available. I feel incredibly guilty that I placed my aunt at Kline Galland for her rehab, because it was a horrible experience for her. I feel she lost valuable time when she could have actually been getting rehabilitated. Instead Kline Galland kept her until medicare and her insurance ran out, and then she was discharged - having progressed very little at all since arrival. Oh, and frequently there was a heartbreaking old woman from the nursing home floor who would sit in the lobby and cry and cry. The reception staff appeared to just ignore her. She'd be there when I arrived, and hours later when I left she'd still be in the lobby crying. That doesn't bode well for the nursing home part of the building being any better than the rehab. read more

My father experienced an extended stay at Kline Galland and I can't say enough good things about it. The staff from the top down work hard to make it a wonderful place to live. My father got so much comfort from the nursing staff, the physical therapists, aides, and maintenance people. They became his friends whom he loved dearly. The facility is kept spotless and the views from many of the rooms are amazing. It was very hard to get to a place where we could no longer care for our father, but when we had to make that decision, Kline Galland was the best!!! read more

The workers at this place don't know none of the patients names they have a lot of people who can't speak English and are very rude I wouldn't waste my grandfather or grandmother's money on a place like this And I would never put my mom or dad in here to waste money on this kind of place you should go there and check it out and see how they treat you when you haven't made an appointment or talk to them on the phone read more

If I can give a no star, I would. As a nurse, I just recently worked for this facility and the experience was horrific. During my first and only week, I experienced other nurses, one by the name of Alice and another night nurse, who work the night shift mostly, and another nurse that works 2nd shift on second floor. These nurses will chase the best of nurses out of this facility by being extremely mean to new nurses and also lying about things you did not do. Luckily, I run 2 businesses online and did not have to stay and tolerate the abuse. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

We had my father-in-law there for a few weeks, and are so deeply distressed at the lack of attention he received. He was left with his catheter unattended for hours without the gravity feed, so his bladder was completely full and backed up. He was dressed in a haphazard manner with his underwear binding his privates, and the catheter being pulled. He was assisted in the shower once a week and had pressure sores developing. I'm grateful he didn't have to stay longer. The nursing staff was nice enough, but often not even knowledgeable about his needs or care and seemed incompetent with no hand-off for next shift. Very disappointing - it felt like they viewed him as disposable. read more

Very nice friendly place. It is very secure and well maintained. I love how many of the rooms (especially on second floor) have a great view of the lake. It is always spotless and clean. I stress clean in these reviews because I would want a clean place for my family if they had to be here for rehab and or living. You need a key card to get to the various floors; which is nice. My grandfather just died at KIine Galland. I am the durable power of attorney for him and have overseen his care for 2 years. He recently had surgery for bladder cancer that did not go well and he contracted pneumonia while he was in hospital. He could not eat or drink, but was given antibiotics to treat infection, blood transfusion and at my insistence a feeding tube was put in. Miraculously, he recovered and before he left the hospital he was able to swallow food and drink, looked way better and was responsive as he normally is for a person with Dementia. I was very hesitant because he was doing well and I didn't want him to be neglected because he would eventually die. I asked if I took him there and he happened to get pneumonia again, could he get on antibiotics again and they said yes. There was talk of hospice care but I did not feel he was at this stage yet. I was told Kline Galland would be a good place to transition when needed. Several things happened over the past 9 days. When I brought him there I requested that he have a soft lap belt for his wheel chair because the last 2 facilities weren't watching him and he got up and fell in each one and ended up in Harborview. They said they would order one. I also requested that he remain on a consistent dose of his medications including morphine given on a regular basis so that he would be comfortable. NOT, as needed since he cannot articulate pain and they weren't going to be in his room 24/7 to check. I was very insistent on this. I was told this would happen. In the next several days I saw him again. I went directly to his room. I found him in there just lying in bed, wide awake with bright lights on and nothing to soothe him. No TV, no human being, etc. I was really disturbed and asked the nurses' station about it. They did not seem to think that he could sit in a wheel chair, even though I asked for it, and told them that 2 weeks ago he WAS in a wheel chair at another nursing facility and was wheeled to the dining room with other patients and fed himself! No surprise, they didn't order the lap belt and they didn't have a tilted wheelchair, so even though I had requested it there was no way for him to be in one out by the nurses' station around other people, getting stimulation, etc. Then I asked when he had had his morphine that day. They told me he hadn't. It was 1pm. I was really upset and asked them why and they said because he wasn't exhibiting signs of pain. I told them of course he is in pain, he has bladder cancer! I also reminded them that they are not in there 24/7 checking on him to see and he can't articulate it when they do check on him. For the very first time, when I was there, he repeated the word "Ouch" over and over again. I reported this to them and told them he has never done this before and is obviously in a lot of pain. I then looked at the chart notes with the nurse regarding his medications and it showed that the doctor had discontinued those 2 days ago. I was shocked. I said why would he do that and not even tell me, give me a reason, ask my permission, etc. The nurse had no idea. I told her that was completely unacceptable and the doctor needed to call me. I also noticed that his chest was mildly congested and told them I wanted to make sure he wasn't getting pneumonia again so I wanted a chest x-ray and antibiotics given to him if he did have an infection. Two days later, doctor still had not called me. I get a call from the charge nurse saying hospice nurse told her not to do the x-ray. I talked to this hospice nurse and told her the doctor had no right to take my Papa off meds without asking me. I confronted her telling charge nurse not to do an x-ray when I requested one. She said she didn't say it like that and then said how antibiotics can kill elderly people anyway. I reminded her a week earlier my Papa was rid of his pneumonia and asked her how he could leave the hospital with no infection, was eating food and responsive, to one week later at her facility he is laying there neglected, weak, won't eat, won't respond to them, and they've taken him off meds without my permission? I demanded that he go back to skilled nursing so he could be treated like a human. She said she would send me a form. I then talked to the social worker and shared my grievances. After listening she said she would talk to the nurse and call me right back. Minutes later, I get a call from that nurse saying my Papa died!!! This doctor did not have a right to take him off meds without asking me! I even had to call the funeral home to come get him. They then called Kline Galland because that was procedure before they pick him up. I sat there for 45 min. waiting and and finally the funeral home called me and said Kline Galland would not return their calls. I was horrified and marched down there and demanded they call them back. This talk about "comfort care" is a joke.They should be ashamed of themselves for treating my Papa this way. read more
