I had tried to do my taxes myself and had completed everything except one serious problem with inputting and coding one of my 1099-R as a refund of Basis I prepaid on an annuity product that I cancelled and the Basis was refunded to me, not to be counted as income. The program I was using included the amount refunded as Income instead of refund of Basis adding to my gross income. Struggling with the program, I could not get this resolved and could not finish my taxes. I called Wolverine and John Eaton answered my call. I explained the above to John. John actually listens. John came up with solutions. He said I did not need Wolverine for a simple return because of the cost. John proposed that he recommend a tax preparer to do my return and file it. John made 3 phone calls on my behalf and consulted with his staff members to find a person out of office qualified to do my returns. John called me back to keep me informed of his progress. John consulted with me about my tax problem on his time and with no compensation. John Eaton is extraordinary, capable, smart, kind and generous. Before my first car, my dad let my sister and I share a car so we could drive to School and he had State Farm. I know State Farm is one insurance company to most people but there are many State Farm agents. My dad was with someone else and told me to go to him and no one else. Well u know grandma'a they always do what they want. Especially mine. So I found the car I wanted and my grandma was with me. the dealer told me the stuff I needed to get before I can drive off with it. I wanted that car that very moment. Well my grandma made it happen with amazing help from Cindy Fletcher at State Farm. It was getting late but somehow Cindy made it happen. Especially when most people leave the office either right at 5pm or a couple minutes sooner and if there is a call most people wouldn't answer thinking it might take to long and have to leave later. This wasn't that case with her at all. I don't know if my grandma paid over the phone or what happened but the dealer came back with the keys and I signed some papers and was on my way. This might be long but it's important. I stayed with her with every car I had. Well my grandma wanted a new one and lease it because of her age and she rarely drives. So she let me have her old car, which only had about 55,000 miles and it's an older car but fully loaded. Any how, my grandma passed away last thanksgiving. It was a huge loss to me and then all of a sudden I had so much responsibility and stress and bills and a lot more and that's not including planning a funeral and there a lot of things u must do. During this I called Cindy and needed a lot of help. My car was still in my grandmas name. She gave me the title to changes it years before but I let it go not thinking this could happen. Plus the leased vehicle and now house insurance. Cindy told me to come in and we would figure it all out. When I went in I was scared and nervous and still very upset about loosing my grandma. Her receptionist was extremely kind but Cindy came out and greeted me at the door as well. I assumed the girl up front would buzz her or go and tell her I was there. Cindy coming out and greeting me was very nice. We went to her office and she had already done a lot of the work for me. Which felt good because I couldn't stop crying and was embarrassed and I thought I'd be there for hours. I do feel she went above and beyond to help me in the situation and also talked to me about my loss and it felt good to hear what she said. She helped me a lot more then she had to. So I would recommend her to everyone. She is smart and has a great memory and had contacted me to help with other things. Plus they offer more things. They offer credit cards at good rates, life insurance which is very cheap. Since my mom is ill and can't work or make money, life insurance on me would be the only way for my mom to survive. I know so any places offer it. But at the low cost and the large amount my mom would get. I couldn't pass it up. Cindy is the one that mentioned it and I was grateful, I was scared my mom would be alone and have nothing so this was needed. So a special thank u to Cindy and her assistant for everything.

The family has had an open door to our cabin on Bois Blanc Island which they happily used every year. Here is a funny side note Al and a group of his friends who use our place were actually there at our place when the tree fell on our house. Not Jill or Al did anything to help me through the process. I had to fight for 10 months to get a partial payment they owed me of $10k! So when I hear people say they are great., I used to say the same thing for 50 years, just hope nothing happens to your home. Here is another short fact. Once we finally got someone from their carrier show up he gave a quote in the $20k's, not knowing anything about construction I had two more builders come out and spent three hours going through things they never even looked at. Their estimate was in the low $90k's. After being passed off by Jill to the carrier and it took months to get them to come up around $60k more. Everything has been a battle since day one to one of their customers who has insured over 5 houses at once and god knows how many cars. The thing that stung the most is I thought we were friends and the way Jill acted was inappropriate and hurtful.
