I hired Klein's handy services for a small job, about 2 hours moving appliances and helping with a gate problem. Everything went fine. I subsequently hired them to do a large job including painting kitchen walls and cabinets, installing a hood vent, and hooking up an ice maker. Job was supposed to start 6/11/2025. It was pushed back to 6/12/2025 due to prior project taking longer than expected. Ok, fine. I understand. They arrived the 12th, worked briefly and said they had to stop because caulk needed to dry before painting. They returned Friday around 3PM (after telling me they'd be there by noon) and worked 2-3 hours when they "had an emergency plumbing job" to take care of. Ok. My job is clearly not very important, even though they have a large deposit to secure it. Saturday arrives and there are three people. I believe they arrived about 9AM, I had to leave about 11:30. I returned about 3:30 and they were already gone. One job, install of ice maker, was started, but incomplete, leaving me with a hose from water source into sink. There was minimal painting done, and mostly what was done was inadequate, and I have to repaint it. Additionally, the enclosure they used to spray was inadequate and there is kitchen paint on the basement floor. Yes, it's a basement, unfinished, and, there's still slop from their spraying on the floor. I was informed, vaguely, Bryson didn't want "things" for father's day, he wanted time with his family. Apparently, that was his communicating they would not be working sunday, father's day. Even though they have worked in the past on sunday, and a holiday, exactly a few weeks ago on Memorial day 2025. I survive another day and a half without my kitchen functional and Monday arrives. About 9:45 i finally texted and asked if they were coming to work (Bryson had stated they like to start at 9AM). I was informed they would be there about 11 or 12. I asked via text when the job would be finished and response was they hoped to do a certain amount of painting that day. And some work the next day. There was no definitive answer when the total job would be done. After asking for an end time, I waited a while for response. There was none. So I texted and told them not to bother returning. I told them I would gather their equipment as I am able to and let them know when it is available for pick up. Literally immediately there was an incoming call from Bryson. I did not answer. Then I got a text saying he wanted to "make things right" and get the job done by end of Tuesday. It was far too late for that. My trust had already been broken, which I communicated to Bryson. I was able to find someone to come finish a couple of the jobs aside from painting, and they arrived Wednesday. I was informed the ice maker could not be hooked up as it appeared the screws were stripped and the ice maker was actually broken. Again, Bryson and crew had done *something* to get icemaker connected, and didn't finish it. There was no communication regarding why they didn't finish. I started getting texts Wednesday from Bryson asking about getting the equipment. My response was to refresh to my previous text and that he will get the equipment when I am able to gather it and will let him know when it is outside to pick up. I informed him I was giving that task the same priority he gave my job. He actually had the nerve to tell me the project was pushed back by a day because of the holiday. Bryson, the job was supposed to be finished the day before the holiday. And yes, I have the receipts, as the saying goes. I have copies of our texts showing exactly what was said by whom and when, as well as pictures of the state things are in as a result of preparing to start the project and them not finishing the project. I was being harassed re:the equipment to the point I have informed him to cease and desist and if there is further communication from him or a third party, I will file charges. I absolutely do not recommend Klein's Handy Services unless you want to be put absolutely last on their priority and then gaslighted about it. read more
