I am aware that people are giving four, even five-star rating for this station for its function…read more Sure, it caters two S-tog lines (the straight ones C & H and the circle one F) and the metro and the buses as well. But that's where the trouble starts. The layout of this station is a nightmare and the lack of signs make it worse. People who designed this station in this first place must have their brains in tangles. It's almost impossible to figure out the first time you're getting off here where you should go. If you want to switch from the straight lines to the metro, for the love of God, do it in Vanløse st, not here because here you have to get off the high platform, walk along the F line platform and get on to another high platform that serves the metro line ...and don't get me started on trying to switch to buses. Both stairs leading to the ground level from the straight line S-tog platform have bus signs on it, but I figured out later (I am always the unlucky one that walks to the wrong direction first before finds the right one) you can only reach the bus platform from the stairs that is the most south of the platform, because then you would be on the other side of the F train platform. Confused? So have I always been. Sure this station is big, and has all the public transport lines and you can get pretty much everywhere from here, but I would very much like to greet the person who designed the station and then shook his/her shoulder really hard and screamed to his/her face "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING???" Maybe it's just me, or maybe I'm just pissed off because I missed my connection so much because I was scrambling to find out where I should go here and I just stopped getting off here.

The last of the inner city stations (meaning all but one of the S-trains stop here, this goes for…read moreany station between Svanemøllen in the north to Dybbølsbro in the south), the platform area has a sort of old school feel to them, you can sort of sense the original architecture of the 1930s when the S-trains were first constructed. The station building itself is fairly nondescript and somewhat worn down. Loads of bicycle parking outside, which is a plus for commuters, what is less great is that the parking area is apparently a smorgasbord for bike thieves, know a lot of people who have lost bikes or parts of bikes from here. There's quite a cute little coffee stand outside, so you're not forced to get the 7Eleven coffee inside if you want a coffee for your train ride. Navigation is pretty easy, there's one platform for southbound trains (going towards Copenhagen and beyond) and one for northbound trains. Pick the right one and you can't go wrong, especially if going to Nørreport or København H, as all southbound trains stop at these two stations. Very easy to explain to any you out-of-town visitors.

It's atrocious that I hadn't review this place before…read more This is the metro station closest to where I live, so I mostly begin my travel from here, whether it's to my office in Herlev, to more exciting places from the airport, or just to the old smelly Nørreport before switching to trains to Jutland peninsula. This metro station has all the standard, but I wish whoever built it put more thoughts in developing it. It has all the necessity, ticket machines (both for rejsekort and metro tickets), the bike parking space and the obligatory hot dog seller right on the entrance. But but..this place could have been so much more! I agree that Lergravsparken is a little bit of a dull place, but I keep thinking about those underground stations in Berlin where there are always so many eating places to choose. You can grab a croissant and coffee on your way to work, or brioche and espresso as the way Italians do. As a matter of fact, most of metro / underground stations all over Europe have tons of eating places attached to it. Why not Denmark? Why must all metro stations here in Copenhagen be grey and sterile? Live it up a little, Copenhagen! I hope the new metro stations are a bit different, but seeing how conformist many Danes actually are, I have little hope :(

For some reason in Copenhagen, suspicious people like to hang out at this train station and I saw…read moreat least one pick pocket in action on the Metro platform. You can tell the suspicious people they are the ones that are just "hanging out" looking like they have no where to go, or just walking un circles looking at you and everyone else and are not self directed toward their transportation or just following other people until they are noticed and they break off. I had to use this confusing station to get back to my hotel a few times but until I was on the train my anxiety level was up. Once on the train there were numerous security agents. Wish they had a law in Copenhagen that you can not loiter at or near train stations, you must always be directing yourself toward your transportation would make it a safer place. What is it about train stations in Europe that attracts suspicious people? PS. If you are from the US with a US credit card the ticket machines only take debit and coins for tickets. US credit cards require a signature and ID check and machines reject them.

I love the metro in København and Nørreport is one reason why. The station is super easy to…read morenavigate. It is completely handicapped accessible. There is very good signage in both English and Danish. And because it's in "downtown" København, the trains run often. Nørreport is not just S-train, but also serves the metro and main lines. It is actually the busiest railway station in all of Denmark. Even more so than the Central station. From here, you can catch the M1 and M2 of the metro, most of the S trains and even regional trains to Zealand and Sweden. There is a ton of bicycle parking at street level and yes, bicycles are allowed on the trains here (just not during rush hours). Nørreport is between Vesterport and Østerport stations. It is in Fare zone 1. There are bus connections at street level, too.

No information on the bridge either which platform has trains to/from Copenhagen central station.
