This experience has been horrible. The communication is nearly nonexistent. You have to constantly reach out to them to see if there is anything that needs to be done on your end. They will not let you know. You have to stay on top of them every step of the way. They don't have the option for direct deposit for financial aid. They just started Bank Mobile. I hope it is helpful. Last term, my check was 2 weeks late and I was not able to purchase a lot of the materials for class. I am going to give it one more term. If things don't improve, I will go to a different school. I actually had to contact the school president's office and threaten to contact the Board of Education to get any assistance from them. If you are a student with any disabilities or cognitive issues, the disability office here has not been helpful at all. read more

I've been to three different colleges and never in my life dealt with unprofessional, unorganized, and lack of communication. They lost my transcripts three times, and I paid three times to have them sent to the exact same place each time (admissions). You absolutely cannot talk to anyone in advising. As soon as I talked to someone in advising, (mind you I had to go in person to receive any kind of anything), they didn't even know what was going on, on my transcripts even though they were sent over a month prior. They do not help you in any way and seem to have attitudes the whole time. I had to bring my kids with me, which I think that's what annoyed them. I also cannot understand why only 8 students is accepted into the nursing program when most colleges accept way more. You have to to literally fight someone to do their job at this school, they suck so bad. A new president needs to be hired to straighten this place up because they are so disorganized and unprofessional. read more

I recently began online courses here and thought it would be complicated and that my instructors wouldn't be helpful or proactive in my success efforts. That has happened to me in the past when I took online courses. The instructor never responded to my emails and was of no help. I feared the same treatment here. I am thrilled to say that I was mistaken. My two instructors have been amazing. They call, text and assist me in the video class meetings. They send me physical packets to work on at home. They fit me into their busy schedules. They are helpful, kind and truly express that they want me to succeed in my educational goals. When I reach them, my instructors will be a huge part of it. I hope they get the recognition they deserve. They're new to this type of learning system and we all are working together during this crazy time the world is plagued with. read more

I have attended 4 different community colleges, and 4 different universities in Oregon. That may sound bad, but I have always been a strong student and have always gotten A's and B's. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of attempting to finish an associate's degree here at KCC. This is without a doubt, BY FAR the worst school I have ever attended. The amount of hoops I've had to jump through to ensure I would be graduating on time, the lack of communication and understanding of my issues, and the general "not my problem - don't care" attitude of everyone on campus here has me completely fed up. Incompetent professors and faculty that hate their life. That's KCC for ya. read more

If you live in Klamath Falls and are looking to further your education, you may not find what you're looking for here. My daughter has not had a worry free experience at KCC. For some reason, they kept losing her transcript from another college and did not bother to tell us until she turned in her application to graduate, at which time she was informed that she did not have enough credits, and this was after she was told initially that she'd accumulated all of her Gen Ed credits through her other school. There is a department called Student Services, but what's in a name? They generally leave any follow up, verification of paperwork or other items required for admission and attendance and whether or not a student has completed a correct amount of credits to receive a degree up to the student. Making sure that every "t" is crossed and "i" is dotted, is the students responsibility. They like to use the term "owning" every aspect of your education. Another issue is the poor management of courses for each term. At first glance into the schools catalog, it seems to be rich in interesting selections but this is deceiving. As an example, the catalog lists 17 different courses in English: literature classes focusing on Native American lit, American Lit, poetry, Shakespeare, women writers and SciFi. But for winter 2015, they offered ONE english class. An observer might see this as trying to phase out the liberal arts in favor of technical and science subjects. Classes that are offered and have students enrolled are quietly and unceremoniously cancelled. My daughters Ceramics II class -credits she needed to graduate- was cancelled without notice. She only found out about it when she went to check her class schedule the night before school started and it was no longer listed among her classes. According to her, there were at least 9 students enrolled out of a possible 20. That's 45%! What more could they need? Similar situations where a class might have 30 seats available but with only 11 (36%) enrolled are kept on the schedule. They never notify students if there are issues with financial aid; it is up to you to make sure you are good to go. Many do not find out their money isn't coming until they go to buy books at the bookstore and they are told they have no money. Someone might have an easier time going to classes here, but don't come expecting the administrative staff to take care of things for you. Your education is YOURS, so OWN it. They get paid to remind students of that. read more
