When I was moving to Squamish, I needed a temporary place to stay and the staff and management at Klahanie Campground were incredibly accommodating, even with me showing up overnight with a huge moving van. The sites were much better than I expected for a campground near the highway. We stayed in a very private spot near the creek, and the white noise from the water pretty much eliminated any highway noise. The washrooms were clean and well above average for a campground, and the location is excellent, with easy access to pretty much everything good Squamish has to offer. A great experience and exactly what I needed during a hectic move. read more

Great location | great campsite #116 We had a great experience camping here. We booked in advance for a dry rv spot. Last minute, we called to ask if we could let our friend stay at the site with his tent. They said there was enough room. While this campground may be pricey, I think it's worth it compared to the other places we've stayed at. I love the spot we had. It was spacious and our part of the campground felt more quiet and private. I highly recommend the sites across from us, like sites 101-103. They have beautiful water views and water hookups. This campground didn't feel like a typical rv city with no views. I'm thankful for hot showers and flushing toilets. They even have a small cafe at the front. The staff is very responsive and take care of this place. Even though the showers are very basic, it works and I can't complain. There are only two stalls for the shower section and two large bathroom stalls. Music is always on. You can walk across the street to visit Shannon Falls. We were very close to the bouldering areas we wanted to go to and downtown is a couple minutes away. I would choose this place again if we wanted to camp. read more

Klahanie Campground - Coin showers - Campgrounds Near Me - Squamish, British Columbia

Location! Location! Location! The location & proximity to the beach is exceptional. We walked the beach every evening stunning As it is new it will take awhile for the landscape to mature at this park. Having said that the pull though are spacious and easy to access towing. Signage could be more visible from highway as many miss the turn & end up in the Best Western parking lot. Not great when driving a 40' Motorhome towing a vehicle read more

Only come here if there is NO other options. The good: The campground spot was nice, we were in site 1 next to a river that helped drown out the traffic noise The Bad: It was super Pricey and once we got there the showers were coin operated! I already paid a LOT of money to camp here and now the showers cost money too?? The ugly: I had just enough coinage to take a shower got all set up (because you only have 4 minutes) and the machine ate one of my coins! so I was standing there trying to get this machine to work for 20 minutes finally got redressed and had to go find the guy who runs the place, who took his sweet ass time coming over to help me and then never even apologized, asked me if I tried another machine. Some absolutely terrible customer service! read more

The scenery is beautiful. Bathrooms spotless. A bit pricey, but the view from site 100 was spectacular. Downside: traffic noise from the highway. read more

We found this place by accident and we were so glad we did! We originally came up for the Sea to Sky and thought we could stay in that lot over night. We were wrong. We rolled in super late and Check In was super easy. Park Ranger was super nice and made things super easy for us! Even offered us an ocean view! Bathrooms were clean and so was each camp site! Even had free WiFi. I highly recommend this place! read more

Klahanie Campground - Campgrounds Near Me - Squamish, British Columbia

My girlfriend and I originally planned to go to Porteau Cove but instead were disappointed that it was actually already full by the time we got there. we stumbled upon this place and it turned out to be great! We got a really good tent site with a half decent Oceanview with some trees in the way but it still looks awesome. Really happy with the price and the location, very secluded and private, will definitely return. PS - our tent site was No.23 read more

A lady came to us and wanted us to pay again.we just explained that we paid already but she called as liers while she was yelling at us, and later she apologized that it was miss understanding between her and head office. we don't go back there any more, and I recommend no one els go there . Very rude customer service. read more

Klahanie Camp Grounds To preface this review I just wanted to state that we had been coming here for nearly 20 years up until a few years ago when we decided to try some other campgrounds. So we decided to return to Klahanie where we started our annual tradition. As expected many things have changed since we were last here. Most of which fall under my list of gripes! Firstly, the price is quite high considering the campground has limited amenities. Secondly, there are limited sewage sites for RVs which surprisingly are all the same price as the water+electricity sites! The power kept tripping the breaker when we had our microwave running. This is a standard 30amp which should easily handle one appliance! Also, the water pressure for the RV sites very low, making showers really slow. As an alternative you can take a shower for $2 for four minutes which use to be free. This in my opinion is an example of nickel and dime-ing the customer! Lastly, you must now wear a wristband throughout your stay otherwise, there is a $40 fine. In addition, you must have a car tag which must be displayed at all times on your vehicle. In fact we were stopped on our way back to our site because we didn't have our tag properly displayed on our dashboard. (FYI we didn't have our tag on our dash because we were driving down the highway with the windows open, so we put it away.) The man who stopped us was the owner whose name is Rick. When he spoke to us he was extremely unpleasant and very unprofessional, basically berating us for the missing tag. Initially it felt like he targeted us because we were Asian. I then realized he must have been just frustrated that other patrons were not displaying their wristbands and car tags too. But taking out your frustrations on a paying customer is hardly the way to retain repeat customers! This campground to say the least has fallen from grace! It was such a great place to make our annual pilgrimage for years, but sadly has come short of any expectations I ever had. If you don't mind paying a little more for virtually no amenities this is the place for you. Rating: 2 out of 10 read more

Un-level site that was difficult to get to (reverse downhill around blind corner between trees and rocks, unlikely a truck/ute could make turn), very low water pressure (less than trailer's 12V pump can manage), sketchy electrical box. We were told $43 a night did not include sewer, but according to their own website it should have been $39.20 a night HST inc. for no sewer. Showers were infested with huge flying insects and the occasional spider. Was promised a "view", which ended up being a view of pine trees surrounding site. Cigarette butts in the steel truck rim fireplace. Pot-hole ridden access roads, lots of decrepit old trailers, Wifi only accessible under HV powerlines running past office, not accessible from any available camp site. Manager gouged us on the price then asked for favorable Google and Yelp reviews. Would not recommend under any circumstances. read more

We stayed at B10 which actually was an okay site other than difficult to get into with a fifth wheel as we had to turn around a very tight area then reverse up a hill to get into it. All other sites seemed very close together, glad we didn't have at any of those sites. The water pressure was very low and electricity was only 13 amps which we managed to blow as we used our kettle and toaster at the same time during breakfast. This place is fine if you're here for a night or two which is what we were doing. We probably won't be back again. We've stayed at better places in Squamish but thought we would give this place a try as it was across the road from Shannon Falls. read more

It was the only place left in the area so we were kind of stuck. It was ok but nothing to write home about. Friendly people but we were stuffed into a site and really there was alot of room elsewhere on the property that they could have offered which would have been less squishy. I probably wont go looking to stay here again. read more

Additional charge for more than 2 adults? Sure. I can see that. Wait! KIDS 8 AND OLDER ARE CONSIDERED "ADULTS"!?!?!!? Go and %$#$^ yourself!

Our Church was having a "Family Camp" here, so we decided to see if our schedules could make it work, seeing as how we love camping! I do have to admit, I was a little turned off by this place but the photos I saw. Power lines near the campsite, not what I had in mind, and not something I wanted to have my little guy around... We mad it work for a one night stay. We arrived at 4pm and stayed until noon the next day. Pros: 1. Huge campground itself 2. Across the way from Shannon Falls 3. Beautiful River 4. Spacious campsites 5. Surprisingly, clean washrooms and hot showers 6. Not many bugs! Cons: 1. No fishing! Overall, great site minus the no fishing option. read more

This place has seen better days. It's over priced and the vegetation is over grown. The showers are a joke and over priced. The only thing it has going for itself is you can walk to Shannon Falls. Most of the sites have permanent campers. I don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Wow I grew up camping here and have been doing so for over 30 years. Must say its still one of my favorites. I was shocked to see a bad review. Why would anyone go out of their way to line up the hydro tower with the water fall from the industrial area where they store the backhoe is beyond me? This park is 38 acres of wonderful views of the falls, chief mountain and the Howe sound. I guess its all in how you view the world. Is sad to see how some people can't see the beauty when is right in from of them and they go out of their way to look for the smallest details to complain. Heres some of my photos from years and years of amazing camping at the Klahanie. Me and my kids love it and absolutely recommend to camp at Klahanie.... You will truly love it. read more

Maybe it was just that weekend in particular - but we were truly disappointed. The beautiful views the website rants about were filled with power lines. The drone of motorcycles and trucks all night kinda took away from the whole camping feel. The campsites had barely enough trees to tie tarps to let alone obscure your view of your super close neighbors. There were more cars around us than trees to be honest. Most sites were small and surrounded by road, there was even a campsite directly beside the sewage storage tank. EW. And for being that close to the water you think there would be a path down to it. Nope. They do allow campfires, and the toilets were flushable and well maintained. There was also a sink for washing dishes which was nice. There seem to be a few fairly decent walk in sites close to the water which would make a stay here bearable if you decided to go for it. They are pretty private, in the trees and would be quieter - but close to a cliff, so no kids for sure. read more

We've been on a 3 month long road trip through the US & CN and this has to be one of the worst campgrounds we've stayed at. When you first pull up it appears to be somewhat dumpy, but once you drive through the campground it is definitely dumpy!!! The roads through the campground were very bad, the campsites were close together, there were many long time residents and in general the place was the pits!!! We would rather stay at a Walmart parking lot than this place again. The wireless was NON Existent and the price for this campground is so expensive for what you get that we feel totally ripped off. read more

Booked a site a month in advance through their online form page. Received a response the next day that our reservation was confirmed. Since we had 5 people and three cars they had put us in a "double" site that was huge! I have stayed here prior in one of their smaller sites but the site this trip was P4 and it was great! Right on the river, bathrooms close, private, and big enough for 5 tents and 4 cars. Ask for the Sites down by the river, I think they are P1-10. read more

Nice, clean campground but no ocean access. We picked this campground thinking we'd be able to walk down to the ocean but you cannot. It does border the water but misleading in the description. Good value for the campground though and many areas to explore close! read more

I recently spent a few days in Squamish and at the last minute our last day motel reservations fell through. No motel or hotel within 100 km to be found. We had camping gear with us so next we turned to camping spots. All camp grounds were full (busy weekend). We pulled into Klahanie camp grounds and the couple running the place were beyond helpful. They felt bad that we were looking at sleeping in our car so they drove through the grounds and found us a spot tucked away which worked out wonderful. The bathroom had hot water so that's a huge plus and they were clean. They made our last night comfortable, thank you! It is a busy place but it met our needs and the staff was outstanding. read more

We stayed at Klahanie as a large student geologist group and they were very accommodating! It was a GORGEOUS campground. There are some really amazing spots here. A short walk to Shannon Falls (also gorgeous) and a short drive to grab food, etc from the store. There are bathrooms and showers that are well-maintained and centrally located. I'd definitely recommend this spot! It was great to pull in, set-up, and just walk around exploring the area until dusk. read more

Honestly not super impressed. We were late check ins and arrived at night and had a very hard time finding our renting site since things are not clearly marked. Our tenting site was suppose to be a "premium ocean view" site and the ocean was hardly viewable because there was so many trees. Which is fine but the title was very misleading to what your actually getting. The site we were staying in has a "short walk" up to where your vehicle is parked, also fine but what the description doesn't say is that it's all uphill and is hard to get too. The most frustrating thing was we forgot something in the bathroom and remembered the morning we were checking out and went to the office at 9am to see if we could look for it and they don't staff the office till 12pm. An hour after your suppose to check out. This campsite has a lot of potential to be great. Great location, quite campground but for how much they charge they need to fix a few things. read more

It's 2:30 in the morning and there is a party that is still going on in the tent sites. They have been walking around the campgrounds yelling and laughing back and forth ALL night. The number for services are not being picked up. There is no excuse. My family has to travel by car back to Alberta tomorrow and we have not had any rest. Utterly terrible. I have tried calling with no response. It is horrible That they allow family with child to endure such treatment. It's the least one could ask of ANY reasonable campsite to shut the noise down so people can rest. Horrible. Out of control. Do not be deceived by any stories of great sites or reasonable services, Klahanie Campground does not take care of its campers and let's people who have created disturbances to stay and continue to be a problem far into the night. Disgraceful and completely unacceptable... Still waiting to hear back from a "ranger" since the first call at 11:38 pm. read more

We were warned about the park manager Rick before arriving but thought we'd see for ourselves. Upon arrival you will be given a 4 page list of ridiculous rules dictating everything from when you can hang a flag (only Canada day) to the size of the rv matt you can have on the ground outside (only 2'x2') In our first week we found someone creeping around at night through our site and after asking Rick he assured us the camp was safe. However after speaking with the neighbours we found out this was common and they've actually set up a "neighbourhood watch" and leave outdoor lights on because the park does not have a single street light and it's pitch black at night. To make matters worse it's located beside a large parking lot. Rick is simply a scam artist. His "ocean view" sites can only see a glimpse through forest and there is zero access to the water because of the train tracks that run directly beside the camp and campsites. The "waterfall view" sights are accurate because you can see the falls. What he does not inform you of is they are on the opposite side of the main noisy highway and massive parking lot. The "falls view" sites are just plain ugly. Above most sites there are broken and dangling branches that are about to fall on trailers. Our neighbour had to move sites because her trailer was hit by so many falling branches. The internet is garbage and they charge you $100 for 100gigs of slow speed internet. Rick doesn't allow a recycling bin outside, or skirting on the trailers, or too much fire wood. If you book your site long term like we did and leave for whatever reason rick will book out your site. As I write this there is a camper parked in my site because I left for my own reasons but planned to return because I had it booked for the month. I realize you don't really have many options in Squamish especially for year round camping, that's why we too had to book here and the only reason rick gets away with his poor business practices. If you can avoid it do not rent here. 5 minutes speaking to rick and you'll immediately know why. There are other beautiful year round campsites you should try first. Renters beware! read more

Our plan was to stay at Porteau Cove or Alice Lake but this seemed fruitless without reservation so we saw Klahanie across from Shannon Falls and found space. Ranger Rick and staff were very friendly and helpful. The tent site we found was quite nice and seemed free of mosquitoes. We enjoyed a fire and free heated showers. We used the internet at the internet tree. (only place it's available but its there.) The view of falls and chief were great. I agree it is a bit close to highway for sound but I'm not bothered by it. I liked the sound of the waterfall and or creek in the background. read more

I would not suggest using this campground to anyone who is viewing these ratings. We stayed there for two nights. Not one person came to check to assist us while we tried to find our booked site not to mention to see if we needed anything. we booked online as well. When we arrived at 1pm the office was closed in daytime. To use showers you have to pay ridiculous amount of money, it was like 3.50$ for 7 minutes. The picnic table on our site was in a very rough shape and small. There is no supervision or checking so you just hope that there is no issue for you on site. But these problems are nothing if you wait to hear what happens in the end to you once you leave. We left the site with absolutely no garbage as we only came there to also at night. Once home I relieved an email accusing us that we have left a lot of garbage on site so they will be charging 25$ on our card. I thought maybe someone else dumped garbage on our site given there is no supervision on the site or follow up. I tried to call and explain that we left nothing behind. I was abruptly rials to reply to the email. After several emails back and forth and I came to know they were talking about the cigarette buds, a hair clip and some small paper strings. All these things were already on the site when we arrived. We don't even smoke and we didn't use the fire pit. So I'm pretty sure this is the trick they use to charge extra money on your cards or they don't check the sites properly and randomly charge the last person once they find the nick nacks. I had such a good time in beautiful Squamish but this campground ruined it by having it end like this. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE. My email saga hasn't ended yet with the campground as I just came back so I will surely post once I received the next reply as I haven't heard back yet read more

Used to go there 10 years ago and it was a nice campsite, now it is a dump, The place has gone down hill, the office is in rough shape, the live in people there start motor cycles up at 6 in the morning, the lady manning the wood pile the last trip was so drunk she couldn't open the lock for wood. The payment box was a joke. The restrooms a mess, landscape has been let go .They should just keep to renting to live in's and not try to represent this as a recreation campsite.Felt like I was camping in a getto read more

We booked about 1 month in advance for Kalhanie Campground. Mainly it was a test for our new popup trailer. Our site was clean and had plenty of space for our SUV and popup trailer. Pleasantly surprised by how great the some of the views are., just steps from most sites. Our only issue was the cost of the showers, not a big deal though. We will definitely be returning. read more
