There is an endless world of possibilities and mommy blogs telling you what to do. Before my son was born, I decided to forget about all the baby stroller blogs I had been reading, and just go to the store and check them out for myself. During our first visit there, we were welcomed by Tony who quickly walked us through all the stroller options and what made each one of them so different. He was so passionate about each product and he knew everything! After almost an hour talking to Tony, we finally found our stroller and car seat, and felt like the most accomplished parents in the world. Fast forward, 18 month laters and now we needed a bigger car seat. Luckily Tony was there again the day we visited and he again helped us find the perfect car seat for us. Also, a lot of their clothing that they sell is typically on sale if you just go to the actual brands website. When I get to the register to check out she says "can I help you?" I said no and absolutely no one helped me in here AT ALL. Seems like disgusting and shady business practices mixed in with racism. I was looking for a present for my boss from us employees here. Boss got married recently, and the coworkers and I all agreed on a really fancy mother-of-pearl picture frame. We figured it would be classy enough to keep the boss off our tail for a week or two. After walking around for what seemed like 10 minutes, an employee finally helped me. The picture frames are behind a large wooden desk looking thing in the middle of the main showroom. This is a $100 picture frame, mind you! Anyway, I can't help but feel profiled. A quick google search showed that the employees here make $15-18/hr which doesn't warrant the elitist attitude. Anyway, Big Boss loved his present. His new (second wife) even wrote all us a thank you card. Thanks pottery barn for the fantastic frame. Try to do better with your employee training, tho.

Also problematic is the sad fact that there is no reliable way to know if they have something that another location has, and sometimes even when I call ahead, they do not have what they claim to have had. So selection is sometimes good, but it is pretty random. One way to look at this is as a treasure hunt, but not always in the mood for hunting! Are the good deals worth the physical stress? Next, should I choose to accept my mission, have to ask every time I see something I want that, yes, is a great deal, whether when coupled with the long line awaiting me at the finish line, is this still such a great deal?

I kept having to walk around because I didn't fit with my shopping cart in most places or there just wasn't space to walk into certain areas when other people were there. I used to like how things were sectioned off. You'd walk to one side and it was kids clothes, then you'd find the toys or whatever but now it's all basically stacked together. This store needs to hire better sales ppl. There was an older woman on Tuesday in the Furniture area and she is was delightful. She is always nice but what is going on hiring these younger ladies that seem to have no social skills. On Saturday my friend and I were waiting for a dressing room and two sales ladies walk by giving us dirty looks. Tuesday I was with my daughter and they just gave her dirty looks also. Wow, this use to be such a fun place to shop.
