First contact over the phone with the branch manager Sara was entirely positive. Friendly, service-focused, knowledgable and welcoming. When I checked out the branch in person I was immediately greeted in an authentic friendly way. I picked up more information about accounts and bank products and after a few days came back in to open my accounts. When I did, setting up my accounts with personal banker Amanda was easy, seamless and enjoyable! Meeting Wyatt and Teri, roving tellers, only added to my positive sense of this branch which is kind, helpful, customer-focused and authentic. Having banked there for months now I can confirm it was not just an initial feeling-- I feel better about banking here than I have anywhere else, literally feeling welcomed whenever I stop by. The best way to describe it is like a "Cheers" experience. Where everybody knows your name!

Our older son went to college and at his 18th birthday they started deducting fees from the account as he was now an adult and no longer fit their criteria for the saving account that was originally set up. This change was not communicated to us and they have pulled over $150 in fees out of the $298 he originally had in the account ( $2 below the minimum of $300). They would not allow him to change the account as he was seen as a minor on the account despite that they could now fleece him for $4-5/month as he is an adult. The manager was rude and condescending to all of us. Take your money and business to a local bank who still remembers that customers matter and treating people fair should be a KEY part of their business model.

It's taken 5 phone calls and nearly 2 hours of time to get zero clear answers. I was told: 1. We'd mail you the balance but our system is down. 2. You can transfer the money but it has to be into another BofA account. 3. You have to make an in-person appointment and you MAY need to bring several documents (which are in my moving boxes) but maybe we won't need the docs. We can't tell you over the phone - and that response was from the genius asst manager! 4. You are the 87th caller and won a $100 Visa gift card. If you answer a few questions then I can close your account. Yep true. The asst manager became irritated when I asked more questions about MY money. Get into another line of work. Unreal incompetence!

When Columbia Bank took over American Marine I was not that upset because I thought banking with a…read morelarger bank, but not too big of a bank, would be beneficial. However, I soon realized that Columbia Bank is out for profit and growth and not necessarily into building a relationship with the community. The staff are great since they are mostly the same staff from American Marine. However, Columbia Bank's fees (especially overdrafts, etc.) are unreasonable. In the past if you had an overdraft, you could get a deposit in that morning and that would be good. Now, Columbia Bank charges at midnight the night before. So, you do not even realize that you have a problem until a fee is charged. They have lots of growth and this is party due to their exorbitant fees. I have written them a letter and only received one phone call from a low-level clerk. I read in the paper today that the Feds are investigating bank practices on getting fees from customers. The practices of this bank should be investigated. Again, the staff is great but the fee policies of the bank are flat wrong. These policies are greatly hurting community members who are struggling.

This convenient location is located off of Hwy 303 and in the same vicinity as Walmart, McDonald's and other businesses. There is a dedicated parking lot surrounding the credit union. There's a customer waiting area for folks with appointments and teller walk-up counter service. I've never had to use their drive-through teller and/or ATM service areas though. The tellers have been helpful and patient with my family member's transactions. But specifically for specific banking needs like interest growth CDs, I'd like to give a major shout out to Ludy Valencia. I've had several opportunities to see her interact with the family member I've accompanied here. The appointments have been prompt, patient, courteous, professional, and thorough. She had also gone above and beyond to take care of their other banking needs. Kitsap Credit Union is lucky to have Ludy Valencia represent them with such exemplary customer service!

For over a year now, they have been difficult to communicate with, and the last call I just received from them was the worst. In front of my son, this gal was mocking me, being snotty and just plain rude. I have read some of the other reviews, and I agree with them. This business is going down fast. Get out ! Do not invest in this business ! Very poor service. The person that gives the response to these complaints can only sugar coat it, but it's really easy to see that you have no explanation or honest reason for these things to keep happening.

Jordan S. absolutely went above and beyond all of my expectations when she was helping me apply & finalize my car loan. I was able to send her my documents this morning and she worked all day on things for me while I was at work and when I came in after, she had all my options ready for me and did it all as quickly as possible when I got there. I always recommend BECU for banking to people, and now definitely recommend working with Jordan when you go into the Silverdale branch!

I have 2 loans and BECU and when I took the second loan they told my to just over pay the first…read moreloan and the overage would be transferred to the second one and pay that. Well, apparently that was a lie because they keep calling me telling me I haven't made my payments. I've tried to make the second payment out of my BECU checking account to my BECU loan, but it will not let me and it will only let payment to the first loan and says, I'll have to mail a paper check for the second loan to BECU.

In some ways it's hard to divorce one from the other, so this is a little bit about both. As far as banks go, Chase is just okay. The advantages are that there's a huge number of locations across the country and it's not particularly hard to find a Chase ATM. Especially in Seattle since they've replaced the departed WaMu. I do like the interface of their online services and it makes credit card and mortgage management fairly seamless. The downsides are pretty much what you'd expect. It's, well, a bank and they're in the profit game. Shareholders to serve and whatnot. You won't find the best rates here for your money and you could probably get higher interest on your savings by spending the same amount of time looking for loose change under vending machines. (Although I won't entirely blame them for their current meager rates; they are subject to the same macroeconomic headwinds of all the other banks...) As for the Magnolia location, it's pretty convenient. There's not a grand amount of parking (a few stalls in the back), but the two times I've been here it hasn't been crowded. I've been able to walk right up to a teller and get transactions done within seconds. As an added bonus, they do have later bankers hours here (open until 6 pm) and are open on Saturday from 9am to 1pm. Summary: Sparsely used location of a MegaBank. If you don't want to spend hours queueing for a momentary transaction, this isn't a bad place to try (unless everyone takes my advice all at once).
