I have dinked my wheel... and I need a new one! (In fact, I need two, having dinked another one…read moreearlier in the year, which I replaced with the spare, so the spare needs replacing as well!) I also need a bumper! Are you getting the impression that my driving leaves room to be desired? Anyway, believe it or not... one and a half years down the road, Bart Motors have still got two wheels and the front bumper available, even though the car itself has long since gone. I'm thrilled! There's one thing I need to mention... for some reason i called Stu Adrian in my previous review... I don't know where my head was at on the day I wrote it, because Stu is called Stu! (Although I have a horrible feeling he spells it Stew...) But clearly, I have proven myself to be anything but perfect... so what d'ya expect!!!? Despite all of my foibles and misrepresentations, I still love Bart Motors, and continue to be immensely grateful for their help! (So, I'm sure they'll forgive me my idiosyncrasies!)

Used to use this Autocentre but no more! Last week my son…read morewas quoted £150 to adjust the handbrake of his Fiesta, expensive he thought so decided to do the job himself and found there is only one nut at the brake handle! As this was following an MOT failure he replaced the rear brake shoes and brake fluid. But the Ferodo disbonded from one of the shoes on the way to the re-test leaving the car un-driveable. It was left for a quotation, £212 they said, at £76/hr for labour plus parts for replacement of both rear wheel cylinders, rear brake shoes and brake fluid. Instead, we had the car recovered home, replaced the wheel cylinders (neither of which were actually damaged) and the brake shoes were replaced under warranty. Whilst waiting another customer came in and had his car diagnosed with a broken front spring and bearing mount, his quote was about £180 which is probably fair but he should have been advised to change both front springs as a matched pair as a matter of safety and good practice. When I asked about this, I was told the 'company' did not want a reputation for advising people to spend money un-necessarily and so no longer made such recommendations. Many people regard Halfords as experts in their field and trust them to keep their families safe! Halfords, you should be ashamed of yourselves! Far better to support your local 'man in a van' with a pre-MOT service, get the car tested, and if it fails, have it recovered to your man's workshop! Simple.....(?).

I've bought three new Fiestas from here which have all been reliable and excellent value. The…read moreservice is second to none and the staff are all friendly and professional. I particularly like the fact that no one is ever patronising to me as a woman driver (which has happened elsewhere)! As a regular customer, I received an extra discount when buying my third Fiesta last year as a loyalty bonus. There's a free taxi service into Bridgend town centre whilst the car is being serviced so you can do some shopping instead of sitting around for ages. My only gripe is that the upstairs cafe could be a lot better, offering more choice and with longer opening hours throughout the day.
