I have seen two other reviews of the Leckwith Road Halfords Autocentre and cannot believe either of…read morethem. Carl D seems to think the address is on North Road and Nathen S seems to think that Canton in Cardiff is 30 miles from the Autocentre on Leckwith Road. I am not sure what is going on in either case. I used the REAL Leckwith Road Halfords Autocentre for both new tyres and full services on my wife's car and my own car. My experience was 5 star all the way. The manager was helpful, polite and a pleasure to deal with. Never had any problem with quality of work done either. I was very happy going there until the branch was closed. I just hope that those two reviews did not form part of Halford's decision to close the branch and put perfectly good people out of a job. I have to add I am not related to any of the people that worked there in any way and not in any way connected to Halfords.

NOT EVEN WORTH THE 1 STAR!…read more I had an MOT here and was told I'd have to hang round another hour before my certificate would be made available as it initially failed because a locking nut was missing, after having the locking nut replaced the Manager Nick informed me that he would post the passed MOT to me, brilliant! 1-2 weeks later still no MOT, so my girlfriend pops in to collect it, he goes on about how he needs this and that in order to release my mot to her, so I provided it all to him over the phone. After some time of pointless discussion back and forth he decides to tell us that the system is down, why didn't he mention this first? I asked if he could send it through email later that day. 2-3 days later, you guessed it, no email! I ring through to speak to him as obviously by now I'm really not happy, and he says it's not there, he can't find it on the system, the MOT should have been entered onto the system the same day I had the MOT! I've spoken to VOSA and they confirmed that they can only see the failed MOT logged, clearly the Passed MOT was not entered, even though it took place the same day no more than an hour after the failure. He then goes on to tell me that the only thing to do now is re test the car, knowing that I live 30 miles away from this garage which he knows as he agreed to post it to me to prevent me having to come back. I told him I would be making a complaint as the service I have received was unacceptable and disappointing. He then hung up and wouldn't answer any further calls. I currently have no valid MOT and have been driving my car unaware ever since. An area manger complaint has been made, I can't wait to hear from him! Save your money and use it elsewhere!

I sent off for a quote Thursday evening, had a call back Friday afternoon for a quote and possible…read morecollection on Saturday at 12pm. So far so good, I thought. The guy I dealt with was professional and there was a quick response. Saturday, 11:30am, they call saying they can't make it for 12 so ask if we can rearrange for 15:00 or anytime the following day. Given that my car is at this point sat on a road in a nearby town and not where I live, and that I'm reliant on other people to get there, I agree to 15:00. It's not ideal, but fair enough these things happen. We get there for the agreed time, and there's no sign of them. After 10 minutes, I call them just to check where they are and I'm told that their guy has just left (!) and will be with us in about 20 minutes. 50 minutes later, after no communication from them, I call back and get told that they have no idea why their guy hasn't turned up yet, but I should sit tight and they'll call back in 10 minutes with an update after they call their guy. At 16:20, after no call back, I call them and it either goes straight to voicemail or just rings out. This happened repeatedly until we finally decided to give up at 16:48. This company's website boasts "lightning fast" service with "collections arranged at a time to suit your convenience". Absolute rubbish. It's not the fact that they couldn't make it that was frustrating, it's the fact that there was absolutely zero communication from them which led to us ultimately sitting around for the better part of 2 hours for no good reason. It is pathetic and unprofessional. I've left a voicemail asking for a call back to explain what went on, but let's be honest, that's probably asking too much of these jokers.
