Wanting something healthier while in this plaza spotted this place. I had been before years ago when it first opened and it didnt disappoint. Food choices here are similar to Kitchen chicken. You have your starch to choose from ( white or brown rice) your proteins (poultry, beef, beans, etc) dont forget your veggies and toppings like quac, sour cream, and a.varowty of sauces. I went with a chicken bowl with lettuce, tomatoes, light cheese, black beans and a cilantro garlic sauce. It was delicious and a perfect portion. Included also comes with a Pita bread but I skipped it. I left satisfied and the process was better than other places. Would come back again for the same bowl of mix it up. You know due to the pandemic tables and chairs were put away so it looks empty and from the outside even closed but pop in and check it out. Check your receipt. They are overcharging. The menu board indicates one price for a mambo chicken and then when I asked why the total was higher the young lady said the register was updated but the sign was not. I told her she needed to honor the displayed price and it was illegal to overcharge customers. I sat down and ate my food. About 10 minutes later another employee gave me back the 20 cents but the issue is what he said. He said that it was for the alleged overcharge. I sat there for about 1/2 hour. The sign was never corrected to reflect the prices the register is set to charge. Check the prices and make sure you do not get scammed. Not good or ethical customer service practices. Over all ok, but not near as good as pollo tropical which is where we usually go. $5.95 for a lunch special is a good price for what you get. The Chipotle sause helps add flavor. Started coming here after the Chicken Kitchen closed. The food is good sometimes and then other times can be subpar. The service, depending on the person serving you and their mood, is meh. The girls flirt a lot with the male customers, old and young, and neglect the other customers waiting in line. I'm all about customer service and being friendly, but a 5 minute convo at the cash register after the guys have signed the credit card receipt or received their change is a little ridiculous. They know where you work so they know where to return to find you if they're interested. As far as the food.....sometimes it is seasoned well, and other times it is barely seasoned. I loved it... but recent has been cutting down on rations. They slice the chicken diagonally, you end up with a quarter of a chicken breast for your chop. Only reason I go back is because of the sauces. Without them the food would be real plain. She wasn't particularly friendly. I ordered a large mambo chop to go. The place just felt dirty and unkempt. There were about 10 cooked chicken breasts on the grill, and I worried about how long they had been sitting there. The containers of sour cream, guacamole, cheese, etc. were all sitting open and sideways behind the counter. The girl who made my chop cut chicken and vegetables on the same cutting board, a definite breeding ground for bacteria. Cross contamination is inevitable in a situation like that. I was hungry, so I took the food home and ate it. I was a little worried that I might get sick but fortunately I didn't. But for ambience, cleanliness, employee friendliness, this place is really awful. I definitely will not be back. They have since left and the young hispanic ladies are horrible. They will see you in line first but will speak spanish to the customer behind you to help them. If I could put zero stars I would. I placed an order for delivery and took over an hour to get delivered when promised by 25 minutes and I live less than 3 minutes away. Then when I received the food the order was wrong. The only reason I didn't pick up the food was because I didn't have my car with me. I went back when I did have my car and sent my son to ask for a refund and they were rude to him because they assumed he didn't speak Spanish and refused to issue a refund without returning the food. Good basic food! Clean facility. Nice people. Service is always fast when we go in and the prices are reasonable. Staff even helped us out one day when we had a car problem. If you're getting an attitude from the staff maybe you should look in the mirror.... We always enjoy the food and recommend them for a quick meal. Happy customers!! read more
