I reached out earlier today and immediately got a response complete with confirmation he could do the job, quotation as well as a time for when he would be able to take care of it on the same day. He even helped me with my pinking shears which a lot of the others places I called around wouldn't touch. Not only did I recieve same day service he probably only took about 15-20 minutes to complete the job (2 scissors total) . Ray was very prompt, knowledgeable and responsive, my pinking shears weren't even cutting and after he sharpened them they function beautifully. I could not reccommend more from punctuality, quality of work, and overall ease. 10/10 ! Happened on this great home based business by accident. Very fast and efficient contact-free service. You put what you want sharpened in your back seat or trunk, pull up, call, someone comes out and voila! While-you-wait service. I had enough time to dash over to Oakmont Produce (love) for a quick shop. My knives are fantastic, also my scissors. I got some great tips on what NOT to do when attempting sharpening at home. Quick service and great quality. I dropped three German knives and they were ready in 20 minutes and costed only $15. Before trying Kirigin Stone I called another place and I was told it would take 2 days for the same service. The shop is in a garage of a house in a residential neighborhood and there was no sign. Great craftsmanship, good turn around time and good prices. The process of dropping off the knives was pretty effortless, just pull up and drop them off then pick them up later in the day. The lot of knives i brought were a mixed bag, a couple Wustofs a couple Globals and a handful of Gerber steak knives. The Global boning knife needed a repair on the tip of the blade which they smoothed out and you can't tell it had bent before (see pics). Also I brought them in a serrated Wustof bread knife which is cutting much better now on some hard levian type bread. The steak knives are cutting much better now also. But the my workhorse knife the 8" Global was worked on the most from the looks of it. Man this knife cuts like a laser now, and i thought it was already sharp just with regular honing. They put a defined angle on the 8" (see pic), oh and he called me to ask if i was left or right handed, attention to details +. They gave me a first time customer discount which was nice. Unfortunately, I found Ray the hard way after driving to Ace Hardware and finding out they don't actually do knife sharpening. I am so glad I found Ray because I love that I got to support a locally owned small business instead of a corporation. Ray answered when I first called and ended up being available the same day. He was prompt and had my 7 Japanese branded kitchen knives and scissors sharpened in about an hour and a half. He was very knowledgeable and courteous. You can tell he took his time to make sure each knife is properly sharpened and I appreciated his skillful handling and service. I had always sent my Shun knives to its manufacturer's free sharpening service, but I have to pay for shipping and wait for weeks before I get my knives back. I'm very happy to have found Kirigin Stone. Its operations are in a home garage. The owner was very polite and patiently answered any questions I have for him. It's been such an amazing feeling of cutting vegetables and fruits since he sharpened my knife!!!  I had been sharpening my knives with my sharpening stick for years, and one of the knives' blades got uneven. He sharpened it very nicely even and adjusted the hight close to the handle. Now it cuts so smoothly and sharply. My cooking time got even shorter because I can cut faster without struggling. As soon as I found this place by googling, I contacted him when I can stop by. He responded promptly so that I was able to drop off the knife and pick it up on the same day. In the meantime time I went to the farmers market, he fixed it and had it ready by the time I came back. The price was very reasonable. More impressively, he gave me a thank you card for using a local business. He is very courteous and thoughtful. I wish I knew this place long time ago. Now I found the best knife sharpening place!! I've tried sharping my knifes with various techniques and could never get that super fine edge. I heard from a friend that Raymond of Kiringin Stone, did a fantastic job at a very fair price. I brought some of my Japanese chef knifes, which are very difficult to edge as they usually have a different angle on each side of the blade.
