It is marketed as a wholesale pharmacy, and some items if on sale are definitely cheaper than in the supermarkets or other pharmacies. I was going there for this exact reason, I buy Nutraplus moisturiser (lots of it) and it is wholesale around $27. This place was selling it for this price for a while, but then jacked it up to over $32. I can buy online for cheaper, so that's what I am doing, but I would prefer to buy locally and support local business where possible. Anyway, the whole sale price has not increased online so I don't know why these guys are selling it for so much. That aside, there is a GP in the back of the shop, which is really handy if you need to see someone about a minor ailment and then you are straight in the pharmacy to fill the prescription. If you ask a question such as "can I get this script filled" you are curtly told to put it down. You may be told there is a 30 minute wait, sometimes you are not told so you just wait in silent puzzlement as more customers get the stony treatment and you wait and wait... Today I left my prescription there (was told there was a 30 minute wait- why such a long wait always?) and returned in 45 minutes to find my prescription hadn't even been put in the queue! I asked the assistant why and she silently motioned to the curt owner/pharmacist. When I asked what had happened he(as usual) refused to make eye contact with me and basically treated me with complete contempt! Which, to be fair, is the way he treats everyone. Recently he lost a friend's repeats so the friend had to go back to the doctor and pay another $70.00 for a new prescription. Was there an apology? Hell no, not even an acknowledgement of any responsibility. Basically no eye contact and no response. The Redfern community deserve better than this idiot with his inefficiency and contempt for the customers that provide his livelihood. If there were another pharmacy near by this pharmacy would go out of business within months. I just don't understand what benefit there is in behaving so badly. Just check out the other comments on the web about this pharmacy.
