15-20 minute wait to do the license check to buy cold & flu tablets... Seriously?

This pharmacy and in particular the pharmacist is beyond belief. Unlike other pharmacies, where you walk in to a friendly greeting, here you are met with a stony silence. If you ask a question such as "can I get this script filled" you are curtly told to put it down. You may be told there is a 30 minute wait, sometimes you are not told so you just wait in silent puzzlement as more customers get the stony treatment and you wait and wait... Today I left my prescription there (was told there was a 30 minute wait- why such a long wait always?) and returned in 45 minutes to find my prescription hadn't even been put in the queue! I asked the assistant why and she silently motioned to the curt owner/pharmacist. When I asked what had happened he(as usual) refused to make eye contact with me and basically treated me with complete contempt! Which, to be fair, is the way he treats everyone. Recently he lost a friend's repeats so the friend had to go back to the doctor and pay another $70.00 for a new prescription. Was there an apology? Hell no, not even an acknowledgement of any responsibility. Basically no eye contact and no response. The Redfern community deserve better than this idiot with his inefficiency and contempt for the customers that provide his livelihood. If there were another pharmacy near by this pharmacy would go out of business within months. I just don't understand what benefit there is in behaving so badly. I agree with MelJ I had a similar experience when I went in to buy some gauze. My daughter had a wisdom tooth removed, so in I go with a sample piece of gauze. The girl who was alone at the time had limited English, she said that they did not sell it. Overcharged $72.00 on a prescription, onlypicked up when I got the repeat filled. When challenged with the two receipts over the difference was told by the Pharmacist that I needed to come back 4 days later to speak to the business owner. Total refusal to assist and laughing about the matter in front of me and other customers shows you the level of distain shown, Take your business elsewhere. Anywhere. read more

The pharmacist isn't particularly helpful. Instead of him looking up a product online to see if it was safe when breastfeeding he had me phone mothersafe on my mobile and then tried to argue with me that the information wasn't correct, being from the experts. It's the only chemist on Redfern st and is open reasonable hours. I'd suggest pregnant or breastfeeding mothers seek professional advice before buying over the counter products here instead of asking this pharmacist. read more

Yes, it is true that the wait times can be lengthy here however new customers need to know this is a pharmacy that dispenses methadone and, at times, the pharmacist can get caught up trying to check certain scripts etc. It's also a pharmacy in an area where various people 'try it on'. I've been in there when individuals rocked in, loudly requesting medications that they don't have a script for and then want to argue when told no. I tend to leave my scripts and return for them to save waiting. For a long time this pharmacist was also one of the few JP's in the area and some people don't quite understand why a 'quick thing' for them isn't actually that quick for the chemist. Staff product knowledge is pretty good and they do work long hours 7 days a week. read more

Terrible Service made me wait for 30mins for my script while chatting away on the phone with 3 others also waiting and then lied to me to advise my script had expired. I went to my normal chemist on danks st and got served immediately while they had more customers there with the same script. left message on landline to complaint got no answer, their voicemail doesnt even advise they are a business. what a joke. avoid this place !!!! they dont deserve your money or business !!! read more

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff coping well with the pressure. Whereas I always need waiting in a queue to be served it is worth it. Their dispensary stock is always good and I can always get all my diabetic gear and insulin I need. So, go there if you've got a question (better on days Vitalli's in) and you won't be left stranded. read more

Worst chemist ever! Especially in a suburb like Redfern, you would expect at least the pharmacist to be slightly socially aware. No, Vitaly is stuck with his arrogant, ignorant, third-world-country attitude and be prepared as a customer to have this imposed on you. The pharmacist is incredibly rude, service is pathetically slow (even when it's not busy ie. one other customer in the store on a public holiday, the pharmacist and staff will literally ignore you until you demand their attention). I've been to this pharmacy on three different occasions, the first months before the second and STILL experienced the most AWFUL customer service I've come across ever. My first experience was a nightmare. The pharmacist literally YELLED at me when I presented to him my script in because my doctor hadn't called prior to discuss it. He did not stop yelling, for 10 other customers to hear, that I need to have my doctor call him (although it was a PUBLIC HOLIDAY and my doctor wasn't in) I left in tears and brought a nurse from my doctor's office back. At no point did I give this horrible man any reason to mistreat me or speak to me with disdain, I was persistently pleasant. My next visit, when I asked "Vitaly" how long I could expect to wait until I'd get served, he answered nothing but "I don't know". He was in front of his computer typing stuff, and I'd been waiting in the store for 6 whole minutes with nobody else for him to serve. I clarified the question "Well, how long do you expect the current task you are doing will take to complete", to which he again answered "I don't know.". I then asked if it would be him dispensing my script, or the assistant, to which he replied "me", then when I asked "Okay, well how long do I wait here to get served?". You guessed it, he said "I don't know." As he said that he went over to dispense my script, and surprise, it took him 20 seconds! DO NOT GO TO THIS CHEMIST IF YOU WANT TO LEAVE WITH YOUR DIGNITY INTACT. read more
