What a beautiful space! Checked out, Kintsugi today for a hot Yin class with Stevie. The moment I walked in, I was hit with this really intense, but beautiful energy. You can tell that this is like a really balanced and Zen space. It's absolutely stunning, just aesthetically pleasing, super clean and minimalistic. Stevie was an absolute doll! Such an incredible sweet person with such a calming energy, her class was so opening and relaxing all at the same time. It was definitely very hot and very yin lol slow, long, and intentional poses to help open up parts of the body. I really appreciate her helping me out when I was having issues setting up for one of my poses, I learned a lot of new techniques and yoga terminology I hadn't heard before and I really enjoyed that. It was a really beautiful class and I came out of it feeling so incredibly relaxed. The studio is so clean and I really love that. They have a refrigerator with cooling essential oil infused towels for after class to help cool you down, I'd actually never had that in any of my hot studio classes before so that was really cool. I absolutely love the space and the location is awesome. It is on the second floor at The Bend across from ikea above Reform reformer Pilates studio. I would definitely take her class again!! And can't wait to check out other classes at Kintsugi in the future! read more

Really a 4.5 rating but decide to round up. Thanks to ClassPass, I was able to check out Kintsugi. Beautiful, calming yoga (and mat pilates) studio. Located at The Bend plaza so there's plenty of parking spaces. Kintsugi is on the second floor, close by to Mothership Coffee Roasters. Especially with new-to-me fitness studios, I like to arrive pretty early so I can get a tour of the facility + familiarize myself with my surroundings (bathrooms, where the equipments are at, lockers etc) but don't bother coming earlier than 15 minutes prior to your scheduled class. They lock their doors!!! I was stuck standing around (thank goodness it was shaded) like a lost child lol. Small studio. Two rooms. Two bathrooms, no showers available. I think most, if not all, classes are heated. So be prepare to SWEATTTT. Lockers are provided with the combination lock attached so no need to bring your own locks. Common area is the center big tree and it can get quite chaotic especially after class when everyone is trying to scramble to get their shoes, lockers, grab water etc. That's why my rating is at a 4.5. I took a Yin class on Sunday at 11:30am. I really liked how the instructor (Lauren?) was hands-on with correcting postures or help deepen our stretches. Of course, you're more than welcome to let her know if you prefer not to be touched. Also liked how she asked the class what would we want to focus on. Personally, I benefited from her stretches. My glutes were feeling extra sore & tight and after taking her class, I felt some relief. read more

The Vibe: Kintsugi Warm wood. Soft light. Beautiful design. It was hard not to love it the moment I walked through the doors. Then came the first little crack. I'd left my yoga bag at the hotel - No mat towel, no sweat towel. Tiny problem. In a hot yoga class...not so tiny. Before I ever stepped into the yoga room, Adam greeted me with a warm smile, made sure I had everything I needed, and showed me how the studio flowed. A few minutes later, while I was squinting at the tiny locker numbers, Lisa noticed and kindly helped me get settled. Those weren't interruptions. They were introductions. The Guide: Adam Daudier * Power Flow We began standing at the front of our mats, facing one another in two mirrored rows (a formation I'm beginning to really embrace). One collective Om. A classic Surya Namaskara. Then we played. One sequence invited us to transition from Warrior I to the opposite side with our palms together overhead and our gaze lifted upward, relying more on proprioception than sight. Field Note: Trust the body. Not just the eyes. Later, Adam offered three headstand variations. I tried two in class...I'll try the third at home. Throughout class, Adam moved constantly, teaching beside us, in front of us, and from every angle. His cueing was steady. His presence was calm. Meanwhile, tracks like "Feel" by Franky Rizardo infused the room. It was the perfect juxtaposition. One grounded the practice. The other kept it playful. Field Note: Later, I learned Adam is also a DJ. Of course he is. The Tribe Kintsugi kept happening. Lisa helped me find my locker. Another yogi pointed me toward the mat cleaner and guest towel hamper after class. Before leaving, I visited with Adam and Lisa and discovered Lisa grew up in my hometown of Chicago. Yoga really is a small world. Space & Place After check-in, you enter a small atrium centered around a beautiful tree, creating a natural roundabout that connects the lockers, bathrooms, Moon Room, and yoga studio. The architecture flows...and so does the practice. Warm wood. Soft light. Circular forms. Even the artwork echoes the spirit of kintsugi. The Takeaway: The name was the lesson Kintsugi is the Japanese art of honoring cracks rather than hiding them. I didn't arrive broken. I simply arrived... in a new city... without a towel... without knowing my way... without knowing anyone. And then... every little gap was met. A towel. A locker. A smile. A shared Om. Kintsugi isn't just the name of the studio. It's the way everyone moved through it. Filling the little cracks before they became breaks. Everyone makes you feel comfortable, and I love that they have everything you need for class, so you can just show up and enjoy your practice. I love Kintsugi Yoga! The staff are really friendly, especially Susana and Michelina. They're amazing instructors and I got a good workout with both of them. I tried kundalini for the first time. It felt like an out of body experience. I've also tried their hot mat Pilates. I've been to a lot of different places but their hot mat pilates is worth it. The equipment is clean and new and the aesthetic of the room is so peaceful. However, if you go in the morning, expect the room to be hotter since the sun is out! Such a beautiful studio and located in a nice area on the second floor. I've taken a few classes here and all were amazing. The instructors are always great. Some of my favorites are the hot mat Pilates or hot vinyasa. Do keep in mind that the room is HOT, probably hotter than other hot yoga I've taken at other studios. But always feel so great afterwards. Love the vibe and energy of Kintsugi and how peaceful it is. I love that I can grab breakfast and coffee afterwards with all the surrounding businesses. read more

After months of practicing reformer Pilates, I had been wanting to go back to a hot mat Pilates class. And what better way to ease into hot mat with Kintsugi :) I follow a couple of my reformer Pilates instructors and a particular instructor teaches here (Lisa). And she would always post the most beautiful photos from this studio so, why not!!!?!! I didn't book with her as timing was off but, was able to book with Marcie via ClassPass. Kinstugi is located at the new "The Bend" shopping center. On the 2nd floor facing Mothership coffee. Me being an early bird and it being my 1st time at this studio, I was 30 mins early and waiting outside the studio doors. I think because there isn't much classes throughout the day, the studio closes and reopens. Upon entering and check-in, you're greeted with a beautiful and zen interior. Very instagramable Locker area is clean and there's a tree in the middle. Fake but, beautiful. Water refill station was available and super needed in any "gym". Looked to have a hydration station as well. The room was soooo pretty with floor to ceiling sheer curtains. All the goodies/weights were used -- bala weights, bala balls, ankle weights, bands. Ended the workout with wipes to wipe down our equipment. And was given a cold hand towel to cool us down -- that was a nice touch. Loved our instructor, Marcie's energy. She seemed so light and fun. Just a ball of positive energy as she's rocked us in hot mat. Which, I'll say, wasn't too bad lol I surely walked out super happy and hurting. I will be back =) read more

Took a heated mat Pilates class at Kintsugi and wow... it was one of those experiences that stays with you after you leave. The class itself was intense in the best way the kind that pushes you mentally and physically but the instructor's energy carried the whole room. She coached with intention, guided with calm confidence, and made it feel possible to keep going even when it got tough. After class, I overheard her catching up with friends and sharing why she opened the space. She talked about her own healing journey and how she wanted others to have access to that same kind of transformation. Finding out she was both the instructor and the owner made everything click. You can feel how immersed she is in her work. It's not just a studio to her it's something she genuinely believes in, and that energy fills the room. I left feeling proud of myself for scheduling something challenging into my calendar and actually showing up for it. And honestly, that alone made the experience worth it. Some classes get completely packed. Hard to relax into a meditative state when other students are snoring or worse. I wish they would offer additional sessions of the really popular classes like the Yin thai massage or the soundbath. I go to the smaller classes and they're great. Some instructors are really nice. Absolutely love Kintsugi and find myself here 1-2x a week. The studio itself is so pretty and calming, and I love that they use Bala props which make the classes feel extra elevated. Lisa's Friday hot mat class is one of my favorites and always such a good workout. Noelle is amazing as well, and Karen is also great. Every instructor brings such a welcoming energy. A beautiful studio and an amazing class. The classroom says it's heated but it's not very hot. So still a good sweat but something everyone can handle. I've now taken yoga and Pilates and both classes were great and the teachers were amazing! I took one class after work (around 5:30) and was expecting to change there as I came straight from work but the doors were locked up until 10-15 minutes before class started. This seemed odd to me, but I don't think they have very many class options throughout the day. read more

Kintsugi is located in The Bend which is on Durango/Sunset across from IKEA. The studio is located on the 2nd floor. Plenty of parking until there is not based off of all the other businesses during the peak times. The studio is small with two rooms. One used for hot yoga while the other is used for other types. Easy check-in process using a tablet. Find your name and check in. Mats are available if needed for a $3 fee. Lockers are provided at no cost for your belongings. Water and tea are offered too. Classes usually fill up quickly so sign up online when you can other you will be on the waitlist. Classes generally have about 20 people in each. The instructors are great and help you with poses if needed including recommended alternatives to hold a position. I leave here with a smile each time. Oh, and if you're interested but unsure, they offer a week pass to try out their classes. HIGHLY recommended. read more
