I have a membership there. It is vey excellent & they change the pool to an indoor dome to use all year round. I give it four stars though because people crowd the gym up some times so little lids can't play basketball, & only people 12 & older can workout for your info. read more

My boyfriend proceeded to pay and we got our lane, on our 8th round our lane just completely shut down. It was only 10:30 and mind you there were about 4 other lanes that had more than 5 people at each lane, we decided to just keep rolling the balls but nothing was working, so we walked up there hoping to get someone to give our shoes back and the worker just kept walking away just rolling our eyes at us. Mind you EVERYONE else's lanes were on and running. We were furious, especially since we didnt even get to finish the game that we PAYED for, we drove by there at 11:05 and all the people were still in there and they closed at 11 pm. Me and my boyfriend have gone to this place since January and had no problems what so ever until last weekend, needless to say that is the last time we go.

Waited for 15 minutes for the 1 gentleman to help the 6 people in front of us. Told them we had a party of 11. He told us they did not have lanes together. I was like. Ok. We will leave. As we were talking about where to go a family left one of the lanes. The couple behind us actually was given that lane. I asked if we could please have the lanes that were now together. A lady at this time was at the counter she said it is just taken. I was like oh ok. Can we see if they will switch to another lane since there were single lanes open. This couple i had not even sat down to put on their shoes. Her response was that is out of my control and would not even ask. She said the other man had given them the lane. That and the fact there was no air conditioning. It is 84 degrees outside. I mean really. This is why nothing makes it in Kinston. No problem. We left and drove to Goldsboro. Had a great experience there. We will not even bother to ever go back. Literally 3 miles from our house!! Again this is why we can't have nice things in Kinston.

I frequent here because of the gym. The membership is more than affordable (almost a steal), and the center is always well maintained. The gym isn't the biggest or fanciest, but it has everything you need to keep in shape. The rec center also offers a myriad of athletic programs (basketball, softball, soccer, etc.) for both the younger ones and the not-so-young. I highly recommend checking this place out!

Given the relative dearth of dog parks in the area, this is such a welcomed feature for this side of town, saving many folks the drive to the Greenville Off Leash Dog Area. What I have heard others say about Ayden's Dog Park - and what I have witnessed myself - is the quality of the turf. The ground is hard and the grass is thick and covered, making it a nice and relatively clean place for dogs to run around and play, even after there's been some rain. My dog and I really enjoyed it here when we came to visit from Greenville, though the only downside (or not? depending...) is that I have never seen another dog there (yet). I do not think it has grown in popularity such that you can expect another playmate at all times. Sometimes, that is good, though, leaving more room for you to play with your fur baby!

There are two dog runs, both seem about the same size. Had a great time today playing with my very active dog! It makes for a nice change from the yard and he got to do a ton of sniffing. They have bags available for picking up dog doo and trash cans to dispose of it, and when it isn't winter it looks like they have water available (as well as restrooms in a short walking distance, also closed in winter). Note that it might not be perfect for those who want to throw frizbees or shoot balls out as far as they can; the runs aren't very big. A large dog can still run, just not for very long unless it wants to do a bunch of cornering. If you have an adopted greyhound, it would be too small for a safe full-speed run (though still way better than nothing).
