My family and I started utilizing the services of Dr. Kinsler during the COVID 19 lockdown. While it wasn't ideal, Dr. Kinsler set up effective online sessions with one of our household members. She kept them very strategic and short to meet the needs of the person attending.
Her sessions usually start with a check-in. This serves as a way to see how the actions that were discussed at the last session have been utilized, whether or not they've been effective and to see if tweaks or changes need to be made. If the therapy is with a minor, these check-ins will include the parent or guardian. Next up is the working part of the session. This could take the form of a video (utilized a lot during virtual meetings) and/or toy play accompanied with discussion. There is then a check out portion of the session which will, again, include parents or guardians. Some sort of weekly action is usually included.
Scheduling has been great. We will call the office, set up our appointments as far in advance as our schedule allows, and just show up when they are scheduled. If we need to cancel, we make sure we follow the protocol.
There have been a few hiccups with slow responses from the office staff, though they have been nice when they finally did respond. That is the reason for four stars, not five.
