We stayed at Kins Hotel for a short Koreatown getaway and overall had a really great stay.
Check-in was smooth, and the front desk staff was professional and welcoming. Throughout our stay, we encountered several employees, and everyone was friendly and greeted us. Bryon, the valet attendant, also gave us helpful recommendations.
The room was definitely the highlight. It was spacious, clean, comfortable, and had a minimalist feel, which is exactly my taste. It didn't feel cluttered or cramped. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we slept great. The blackout curtains blocked out almost all the light, and honestly, the room was so comfortable that we overslept.
I also liked that the room had clean vinyl flooring instead of carpet, which feels much cleaner to me. The window was small but still let in a lot of bright natural light, and complimentary slippers were provided.
The bathroom was spacious and modern, with a large walk-in shower and good water pressure. The shower had Beekman 1802 Fresh Air shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers. The bathroom fan was a little loud, but not a deal breaker.
I requested no down or feather bedding/pillows due to an allergy, and the hotel accommodated the request. Even with the non-down bedding, everything was still very comfortable.
The lobby smelled really good, and the hallways were clean and well-lit. The hallways had more of an office-like smell/feel, but it wasn't bad. The room itself had a light perfume/cologne scent that was pleasant and not overpowering.
The location is convenient if you want to eat around Koreatown. There are a lot of food options nearby, and the outdoor area smelled delicious from all the nearby Korean BBQ spots. City Center on 6th is also walking distance.
The area is very urban Koreatown. During the day, it felt much safer and more comfortable, with families walking around with kids and babies. Late at night, around 12:30 AM, it felt more questionable. We didn't feel directly threatened, but we also didn't feel completely relaxed walking around that late. I'd recommend normal city awareness or using rideshare if you're out late.
Parking is valet-only at $45/night, plus tip, which can be a downside. Price-wise, the hotel wasn't super expensive, but it also wasn't cheap. The room itself felt worth it because it was spacious, clean, comfortable, and relaxing.
We also paid $45 for late checkout until 3 PM. When we came back around 2:15 PM, our original room key no longer worked, so we had to go back downstairs to get a new one. The staff member was nice and fixed it quickly, but it would have been helpful to know ahead of time. Minor inconvenience, not something I'd take away a star for.
Overall, Kins Hotel was a comfortable and relaxing stay. The room really hit the spot for a quick Koreatown getaway, and I'd stay here again. read more
