We were up here clearing our retirement property to build a new home. We have 5 dogs. A couple times a day we check them for ticks, being we are cutting down trees and clearing land. Today my husband thought he found 2 on our beloved beagle Diesel. He called Kinross Vet Center, after trying to remove them with tweezers. They said to bring him in right away. He did. He then found out that Diesel had no Ticks and that he tried to remove the poor dogs nipple. Everyone here was wonderful and all 5 of our dogs are now listed there. We will be using them when we are up here and when we live here. Our dogs are all on their prescribed flea and tick meds but we purchased a second source for each of them being we were so worried! We highly recommend this Vet Clinic and will be there in the future! Thank you!

Not many Vet's in the UP of Michigan take on rabbits, I'm so glad this Vet Center does! I had to drive nearly 60 miles to get there, as no one else closer handles rabbits. As per my Adoption Rules, I have to get her spayed and a Wellness check had to be done. I'm glad it was as I was feeding her wrong and she is over weight and I was given a sheet of what and how much to feed her. Hopefully she'll be down in weight before the spay! Appointment dates are a long way out ( as much as a month ), but I'm glad I waited to get to this clinic, it was well worth it. I'm going back to get my rabbit spayed in a month and will do some shopping in the Soo while it's being done. Win win situation!!

We had a cleaning yesterday that went well! The vet was able to explain the procedure well and provided a follow up call for her care.

Jenn K took all of our info while a tech came and checked Trudy out immediately. Within 15 minutes, Dr. Jeff LaHuis reviewed her chart, checked her out, and went over options. He then checked with his surgeon tech and said that Trudy could be operated on that afternoon. We were so happy to get the call that everything went well and our girl could go home the same afternoon. With this being an emergency, we were surprised with the very reasonable charges. Once we settled up, the surgeon tech, Megan came out and went over everything. Thank you all for the excellent care!

During the call, the veterinary technician began questioning me about my Facebook activity, which felt unrelated to the reason I was calling. When I expressed confusion about why that was relevant to my dog needing medical care, the owner, Jeff, supported the line of questioning rather than redirecting the conversation back to scheduling treatment. As a pet owner, it was uncomfortable to have my personal social media brought into a professional interaction when my priority was getting care for an injured animal. I was able to get my dog seen at another clinic that same evening. I'm sharing this simply so others can make informed decisions when choosing veterinary care.

Without a long litany of questions or wait, "Tank" and I got in to see her right away. A week later, on our way home, Tank needed an additional medication, one we rarely use, nor one she stocks, but we had left at home. Since we were from out-of-town, and therefore not a likely return customer, she could have easily blown us off. Instead, she took the time to look-up Vets to find one who did stock it on our route home. She found one in Alanson, MI and called ahead so they would be expecting us. While we were waiting, she casually diagnosed a problem that our current Vet (4 Yelps average) had been advising we ignore. We changed Vets when we returned home. The issue was surgically addressed, and it turned out to be pre-cancerous, at best (scary.) Yes, she has cats, but so do we. Tank is a relaxed "Old Soul," and when a large cat come marching up and soft-pawed him on the nose, his expression appeared to be, "Yeah? Don't worry about it. I'll be out of here in a little while, and you can go back to being King of your Catdom!" I thought it was funny. After 25 years in the military, stationed literally all over the world, we've taken cats and dogs to rabbits and tropical fish to both military and civilian Veterinarian. The glass is half full or half empty...It depends on your point of view. MAW
