Louis R loves eating burgers, drinking local drafts and chatting it up with locals in London…read more Louis R loves eating burgers, drinking local drafts and chatting it up with locals in Stockholm. This bar can be located in either city, as it exhibits many of the UK public house charms yet everyone inside is speaking Swedish. Dark, cozy, UK decor, sometimes quiet, sometimes loud, affable barkeep, no tourists (since its not in Old Town)...Louis R loves this spot. This bar is off the beaten path, which makes it ideal for winding down after a long day of checkin out the many things to experience in Sweden. Be like Louis R, be international.

I really enjoy having a beer at different Bishops Arms pubs around Sweden…read more They have a wide selection of draught beer but also bottled. I was really surprised to stumbled upon this BA on my stroll around northern parts of Söder. it seems a bit misplaced (no other cafés or restaurants in the nearby area just silent streets) but nevertheless very much welcomed! Indeed! I was here on a Friday at 4.15 and it was already getting crowded. I was lucky enough to get a booth, but since I was alone I almost immediately was asked by the staff if I could make place for another party (of 2). I was asked in a nice way, but when someone ask you feel like you have to either leave or change seats. But understand why, I was alone. Someone I talked to said, this was the best BA in Stockholm. I must say, it wasn't the coziest I have been to, I don't know what it lacks though. By the second booth by the wall and floor you have power outlet for your charger. I had just a small ladylike sized (half pint) of ESB so I was ready to leave after 40 minutes. They accept AMEX.

Tudor Arms is the oldest English pub in Stockholm (and perhaps in Sweden). In a sense it feels like…read morestepping into a pub in England but it would probably be more accurate to say that it feels like stepping into a pub England the way they used to be. Nowadays many pubs in England have gone downhill and lack charm. Tudor Arms definitely have charm and the food is pretty decent as well. I actually prefer the food that they have for lunch, in the evenings the menu is ok but I do expect better for dinner and I often feel that the lunch is better here. The selection of beer is actually a bit disappointing since nowadays so many bars and pubs have better selections. It is however still possible to find something to my liking and the atmosphere is great.

As someone from the UK, this place feels just like home. Sweden does not really have the same 'pub'…read moreculture that we have in the UK but the Tudor arms (the oldest British pub in Stockholm/Sweden, and voted one of the best outside of the UK) has taken all the best bits and make a classic pub with an honest feeling. The Tudor Arms is very popular when there is sports on (especially the English teams) and it packed with a mix of Swedes, English and people from all over the world. The do serve food (although I have not tried it yet) and bar snacks (crisps, chill nuts) and a mix of Swedish and imported beers. The interior is just like a British pub, lows of wood, low ceiling and a good ambience. A great for tourists, expats and locals looking for somewhere to drink with real character.

Louis R loves local Swedish pubs close to his 5-star hotel…read more This spot is located on the corner of the main street and the tables outside, filled with local Swedes chatting and drinking, make it easy to find. Don't get intimidated if everyone is speaking Swedish, within, as this is a true local joint. And yes, the menu ain't in 'Murrican. Sorry bruh. The salmon with potatoes was clutch, actually, all the fish dishes here will be on-point. The barkeep was affable and can help you select legit choices in fare as well as drinks. Go with the local beers. Do it. Since this spot is not in Old Town, there won't be many tourists, which suits Louis R. It is very easy to chat with the locals, as they aren't the typical pretentious American D-bags. Be like Louis R, be the only pretentious D-bag in Sweden.

I had dinner in the second room. I would advise you to book a table (I got lucky, someone had booked but cancelled last minute so my friends and I could sit). I had a burger, the meet was very tender and juicy. The fries look like crazy Macdonalds fries but they were actually much better than that, and came with a homemade aioli sauce. I was also super tempted to take tartare steak, the table next to us had some and it looked really good. As it was my first time I wasn't sure of the quality of the meet, but now I know it's good, so next time I'll definitely have that!
