Having been closed for a couple of months it's currently very much a work in progress, but definitely preferable to having to go all the way to Frankfurt (or worse Wiesbaden) to see a non-mainstream film.

Came here last night to watch "The Revenant," (which btw is a great film, Leo definitely deserves…read morean Oscar this year) and we really enjoyed the nice atmosphere. Kinopolis is relatively new to Hanau and is very modern. They offer English as well as German speaking films. The staff is very friendly and the theaters are quite clean. The seats are really comfortable and I always enjoy coming here. The snack bar has many choices including nachos, pretzels, popcorn ice cream and currywurst. They could hire more staff as there are usually very long lines at the snack bar. Other than that I definitely recommend coming here.

About a 30 minute train ride away from where I was staying but what a cozy nice little theater. You could tell the owners loved film from the decor and how well it was maintained. Snacks were tasty and well priced and everyone working spoke English without any issues.

Unfortunately, choice is limited - but judging from the all too often empty auditorium, there is no demand for more. The auditorium itself is nicely tiered, i.e. even short people have no problem looking over the head of the person in front.
