He was not a professional with me, he said that I was the one who needed the school, not the school needed me. All this because I asked to cancel my registration because of my schedule, I saw that I would have to arrive a few days late and knew that I couldn't, also because of the parking, because I was having difficulty to parking, mainly because I was late. Thank God I was able to cancel this and sent an email to formalize it, because I felt threatened by the way he spoke to me, this guy made me cry all day like He was really doing me a favor, like I hadn't paid for it. She is also someone who, given the extremely diverse community at Rochambeau (now, I believe over 80 nationalities represented!) is comfortable and informed about the world! No school is perfect--I know of highly rated private schools in the DC area where students struggled with math and parents were paying upwards of $45k a year! Communication is a struggle at times with the administration--but they have listened from American parents and have grown tremendously, for instance now making sure all parent/family programs are in English and French. Rochambeau is an amazing global education with incredibly dedicated teachers at a reasonable price point. I highly recommend it to parents looking for a school that invests in the children and an international education!

With the exception of a few very dedicated teachers, I have nothing good to say about this school…read more Facility: Classrooms often lack heat or air conditioning, and the bathrooms have two few stalls (the men's rooms has no urinal and only one stall for dozens of people, and the women's room has two stalls). They are filthy (urine on the floors and toilet seats, toilet tissue everywhere, odor sometimes so bad, it is nauseating, and at least one of the two sinks often stopped up). It is not uncommon to have mice running around the classroom, and once a dead mouse was not removed from a classroom for over a week. The odor of the dead rodent was unbelievable and extended into the hallway, and an administrator sprayed perfume in the hallway to "cover up" the odor. The students routinely complain about how uncomfortable the classroom seating is. Basic technological support such as dvd players, computers, etc. is either non-existent or often doesn't work. Staff: While some of the teachers are excellent and highly dedicated, some have poor English pronunciation and grammatical skills themselves. One teacher throws things, walks down the hallways yelling profanities and acts out physically on furniture in the classroom. Another comes to teach smelling heavily of alcohol. Some students who enter the classroom do not have enough English reading ability to be in a classroom that requires reading skills, and are literally wasting their money when they should have been in a literacy program and not in a vocational English program. The books are boring and not really appropriate for the needs of the students, and the exams are inconsistent, with some teachers making their own and others using prepared exams that are too easy as to really be a measurement tool. Students are shuffled back and forth from level to level to satisfy problems of classroom availability, and sometimes their grades are altered to allow them to be placed in a class they are not suited for in order to accommodate this space problem, or students are asked to skip levels because the school doesn't have adequate enrollment at a particular level.

The restrooms were kept up by the maintenance staff and if there was ever a concern with them, they were always available. The staff are always willing to be of assistance and if you ever need rutuoring or clarification on any subject they are more then willing to have after school one on one time with you. No one has ever smelled of alcohol and no one acted less then mature. The school offers ESOL which is English as a Second Language, and the students in those classes do not cross over to the classes for Medical Assisting or otherwise. Even the administrators are there if you should need thier services. Im not sure if you have actually attended this school or if you just passed by, or maybe you just heard stories. But I attended this school and have come to appreciate it and the teachers who are dedicated to the education of the subject at hand. We are all entitled to our opinion, but facts are facts, this is not a terrible school, in fact as apart of the Alumni, its a great school.

Enter Green Acres School, a hidden gem that focuses on outdoor play and creative learning - a school that would build a solid foundation for these early years. The atmosphere at Green Acres is warm and supportive from the moment the kids hop out of the car at drop-off. The staff respectfully engages with the children, giving them a voice to grow into independent thinkers who advocate for themselves. When the school recognized that my daughter was excelling academically, they adapted to her needs while keeping learning fun and engaging (and have done so with my son, too). She's eager to go to school every day and, to her father's and my irritation, even cried during a Disney World vacation because she missed it! They were quick to blame individual kids for systemic issues at the school. Classroom management was poor, and outside time for middle school kids is not monitored as it should be, both of which leads to highly unproductive behavior among the students. For parents interested in Green Acres, you should ask many questions about classroom management and overall supervision. In addition, we highly suggest you ask about the school's financial standing (income statements and other financial information) and how the school plans to address the loss of income from lost rent related to the Diener School move. Finally, we suggest that interested parents talk with doctors or others who know a lot of school aged kids. The problems at Green Acres are well-known in these circles. There are many great public and private schools in Montgomery County, and we highly suggest that you look elsewhere. We did, and we are thrilled with our child's new school.
