They took her food order, ignoring all of her restrictions, gave her food she couldn't eat. Then at 7pm she was very hungry. Someone said they'd get her a turkey sandwich, 2 hours later she finally gets someone's attention and they tell her the kitchen is closed. She can have one packet of saltines. We ended up having to order food to be delivered. They went through her stuff and treated her like a criminal for no reason. I called to tell them she needed help because they were ignoring her, they hung up on me. Awful hospital.

This is Kingstown Hospital in London, UK not in America…read more A total nightmare. We are visiting from the USA, waiting for 7 hours in a filthy, small, packaged, old, hot ER room with hundreds of patients waiting to be seen by ONE doctor from Africa (third world mentality) who didn't order any exams to a 18 year old patient with possible blood clots who got injured in his arm and had some symptoms of possible vain injury. Social free health care sucks. You get what you pay for (zero payment = zero treatment). American terrible health care system is way better and more effective than the english free system. Third world countries have better hospitals and treatments than the ones in the UK. Btw doctor from this hospital said young people like our son with not family history of blood clots can get one. She was totally wrong based on what ChatGP is saying. Who is right? pray our son is fine that's what matters. Won't Visit this horrible hospital with inept doctor.

Staff, nurses and health workers were impersonal, rushed. No one identified themselves as doctor, nurse , aide... no one spoke to her or comforted her. They all kept asking if she had a DNR. One said "it's a very busy night". I took one person aside and asked what the diagnosis was after an EKG had been taken. She told me and when I repeated that information to the next person who came into the room, that person said in alarm: "Who told you that!" None of this created a sense of confidence or safety. My mother and our family were never introduced to an assigned doctor, or a team who should have explained what was happening and what were her options for treatment. Just a lot of health personnel in and out and a lot of confusion and chaos. My mother did have a DNR but she started to feel better and when we chose not to apply the DNR we were told we could not stay with her overnight. This made no sense as her condition was unpredictable and anything could have happened overnight. We had to leave. We were assured that should we apply the DNR at a later time that did not mean Do Not Treat. We were told that she would still be treated but not resuscitated or put on life support. By very early morning we were called and told she had a turn doll for the worse. When we arrived after an hour's drive, she was struggling to breathe. Two health aides(?) who did not identify themselves were swabbing her lips while she gasped for air. Again no doctor, the nurse was unavailable. I tracked down a nurse and we reapplied the DNR. The nurse gave her morphine which calmed her but then she gave her more. As mentioned earlier, I was under the impression that the DNR did NOT mean, Do Not Treat. I thought someone would check in on her with next steps. Her breathing was steady now and slow and while I was holding her hand watching her closely, a housekeeping staff member walked in to empty the garbage. They took my attention for a moment and when I turned back to my mother she was gone. From beginning to end we did not receive guidance or clear diagnosis, or a treatment plan. And when the time came, no one prepared her or us for her passing. They clearly gave her a lethal dose of morphine and left us. In such an emergency, patient and family are often confused and scared. There is no excuse for leaving them uninformed and unattended. This was not the way I wanted my mother to pass. Just afterward another health personnel came in to take her for a test!!! Clearly her care was haphazard and there was no communication between those who were supposed to be tending to her. Don't go here if you can avoid it. If you can't avoid it, insist on a doctor or a team to meet with you and insist they answer all of your questions. Do not let them interpret Do Not Resuscitate as Do Not Treat

I've really appreciated this place over the years. Today, Leah at reception and Patricia the nurse…read morewere truly wonderful. They were competent and kind which softened the blow of waiting 45 minutes, despite having made an appointment, on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Unfortunately, Dr. Gulati was quite the opposite. I asked him to renew the script for the acyclovir cream that I use for cold sores and he said in a patronizing tone, "Why do you think that's going to help you?" I tried to reply that in my vast experience it *does* help me by shortening the life of the cold sore, but he cut me off to explain it was useless because the virus is internal so I need the pills (which is like hitting an ant with a hammer imho), thereby vetoing my request for a cream. But the research is in, the cream works. The next kick in the stomach was when I asked him if the pills would be helpful, even if the cold sore is a couple of days old. He smirked at me and took several seconds, inhaling deeply and letting out a long, condescending laugh. As that finally tapered off, he refreshed his smirk, looked at me with exasperation, as if I were incredibly stupid, and said, "How would I know that? I don't know how long it's going to last!" That wasn't even my question! It felt to me like deliberate cruelty, almost like a performance. He ignored me when I tried to respond, turned on his heel, and walked away shaking his head. Why does someone like that work in medicine? Does he treat men like that, too? Doesn't he know that people who come to him are suffering and already humbled? Apparently he doesn't care. It was so strange and dehumanizing that I called my sister to process it, to talk me down. Lo and behold, she told me a few years ago she had a very similar experience with Dr. Gulati. I write this review hoping that it might save someone a similar bewildering and upsetting experience. Patients beware: this man might make you feel really bad when you're just trying to feel better.

Although only a few cardio doctors practice here, this place has been known to transfer some patients out for further evaluation. Times and availability of appointments is well-maintained and the doctor can generally handle all patients during their working hours here. The office does a fine job too. They get back to your questions in a reasonable amount of time in a courteous manner. I've only had it happen once that they lost my paperwork, or didn't realize who was this elderly person's health proxy of which papers were signed only the week before. I do feel confident though about this business. Between the water fountain in the lobby and the handicapped-styled wooden ramp(only) leading up to the business, they both make for interesting and comfortable visits for all here. The ramp seems to always be superiorly cleaned no matter what time of day it is). Check though on the Springbrook Medical Park's Yelp website, as he businesses access road is very bumpy, but the parking lot doesn't have this problem but is way too big. You'll always find a spot here, so no worries.
