I signed my 6 year old daughter with ADHD and dyslexia into the B.E.S.T. program and after one week, she started telling me about how the teachers would over react about the simplest of things, and how they would punish her by not giving her a snack break. Would not recommend. read more

I said my kid in this program and then he came home with bruises on his body hair pulled out of him a bald spot on his head and then I follow the lawsuit and the teacher got fired and never said your kid here ever trust me read more

so I put my Kid in the best program and just watch a day later he came home with bruises so we took him out and we filed a lawsuit school don't send your kid here. They lie all the time. Trust me your kid. read more

B.E.S.T. Program at Kingsley-Anyone else experiencing concerns about this program, past or present? My child in the B.E.S.T. Special Ed program at Kingsley Elementary in Downers Grove, IL., who is classified as honest to a fault, is being lied about by the Aide (J.S.) who pulled his hair 11/12/18 on/around 2:50 p.m. as he sat quietly in his chair IN the B.E.S.T. classroom & then she made a comment that he needed to have a better attitude. Teacher in B.E.S.T. (M.G. retired as of 06/2019) was watching & laughed then covered her mouth. Special Programs Coordinator (B.O.) claimed in her response of 11/14/18 (after inquiring?) that child was patted on head & complimented also observed by another staff member (dishonesty at it's B.E.S.T.) & this NEVER occurred 11/12/18. If pulling hair is now considered patting on the head & telling a child he needs to have a better attitude is now a compliment, something is Seriously Wrong especially when adults in a Special Ed class teaching our children to be honest & more appropriately behaved ARE now getting together to be dishonest to keep their you know what out of you know where. While every tree has character, some are just more shady. For approx. 3 years I have been addressing aspects that have led up to the incident of 11/12/18 without resolve as even after a meeting with current Principle (Mel.S.) & Special Programs Coordinator (B.O.) the end of October, 2018, Nothing was resolved but appears to have escalated into the above referenced concern. This is appalling to say the least. 11/19/18-Monday we had a meeting with Assistant Superintendent for Special Services (J.S.) and Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and Staff Development (J.Y.) at the Dist. 58 office & a "hallway" incident was mentioned for the date of 11/12/18. There was an incident when child was being pulled into the B.E.S.T. room while pulling away & was pulled into a door frame last year causing his head to be hit & many more by a tenured M.G. I am only advocating for my child who has been classified as honest to a fault in school by the "team" as well as M.G. When concerns are allowed to continue without appropriate resolve &/or with Provocation, we wonder why child does not want to be in the B.E.S.T. room!!! It appears there may also be severe animosity towards my advocacy for child as well as his honesty. The EX (father) will not even believe child in school related aspects or discuss this situation with me. Nothing new there as he allows child to swear & act inappropriate when he had him (wonder why those nasty words come out at school & when child was at Anne M. Jeans in Kindergarten Ex & his family told child to lie & say the "gun" aspect came from school when it came from him/his family). Maybe this is why the "team" & the Ex get along so well. My child has been denied his necessary drink container on a number of occasions after remembering & needing it for the following day, denied his lunch bag on another occasion, had his drink container dumped out after the start of one school year which resulted in letter of medical necessity to keep him hydrated with all his medical, talking negatively about Mom in front of child by B.E.S.T. teacher (M.G.) both this year/last year, favoring of Male/EX/father to advise to have a good weekend with but NEVER advising child to have a good weekend with Mom (BIAS) leading child to believe his Mom is not liked by M.G./others, as well as other intentional factors & some may have been done to provoke his medical aspects (ie open windows to aggravate allergic conditions when A/C is needed, perfume/chemicals to irritate sinuses...) with doctor's letters on file. We all know a child is in a Special Ed placement for a reason, but that does not give ANYONE the right to abuse &/or bully &/or create further aspects to escalate his/her medical conditions! Doctor has been advised about situation & has basically requested child be removed from Kingsley B.E.S.T. program until appropriate and agreed upon accommodation can be made. Mr. Stange (Principal) last year (2017) appeared to start to address some of the aspects & suddenly was gone for personal reasons. Katy Casey did not return, Patricia Cepeda gone. All were informed of the head hitting incident dated 01/26/17 where M.G. was pulling child into room. COINCIDENCE I think not. Ex/father (a whole other situation) will not allow home schooling using all stigmatized aspects from YEARS ago regarding socialization when in fact, under the current school situation, he is not having enough appropriate interaction the way it is. This is creating a more negative outlook on school. It is my impression the adults in this school situation may not like the child's honesty or my advocacy. This is being POSTED on behalf of child.
