It isn't true I was dragged here screaming and kicking. I never kicked my wife. True they complained about the deep furrows my nails made in the driveway. The Canadian National Guard was also very understanding about my manly-man voice. The commander completely understood my boisterous reticence in going into a botanical garden and the appropriateness of an 'outside' voice. Nevertheless, I completely enjoyed myself. On entering I saw a English manicured garden. Then we went through a huge and deep shrub wall, suitable for a castle gate into another garden. Then a kid's garden with kid statuary, a small farm zoo, a meandering herb garden, a couple of ponds (each different), flower gardens, statuary, and on and on and on. All were incredibly well maintained, except for those which were supposed to be more wild. Almost every five feet brought a different prospective and new delights. We went in June and the colors were fantastic. Each area was crafted with a completely different look and feel. It does pay to meander around the grounds. We went into their cafe for a tea. The waitstaff was wonderful there too, so was their tea. I very highly recommend a visit. Hopefully, by then, my fingernail gouges will be gone. read more

This was our first great restaurant experience in St. Andrews. The wait staff was very eager to assist in any food allergies such as gluten-free. My wife got the Cajun chicken whole sandwich which was awesome and I got the rib special on Father's Day. The atmosphere is awesome, interior very clean and the views of the gardens are tremendous. The waitstaff is eager to please and the food was tasty. Overall a great experience and would recommend to friends and family. It is a 10 out of 10 everyone needs to experience this restaurant. Beautiful gardens, even as the plants near their winter's sleep. Sculpture Garden was a nice, artsy surprise. Therapy Garden is really special. Gift shop is cute, but very small inventory. Would have probably bought something if there were more unique, locally created items. Would love to return at the height of the gardening season. read more

If you're thinking about getting married, you cannot do better than Kingsbrae Garden. We met with Brad (the event coordinator) over a year ago when we were touring St. Andrews looking for venues, and we knew immediately that we wanted to have our wedding there. The place itself is gorgeous and we got the impression from Brad that he would do whatever it took to make our day perfect; we weren't wrong. After that day countless emails were sent between Brad and me (and my now husband), ensuring that everything went according to our vision. Mostly, that included having the alpacas/goats come out to greet guests haha. For the record, not only did they come out but they let us bottle feed one of the baby alpacas and they even prepared a special bouquet complete with carrots, jelly beans, and apple flowers to feed them for pictures! The food was to die for - all of the guests were raving the entire day(s) afterward. The cake was gorgeous and exactly what we wanted. The reception area (we used the indoor café) was small, intimate, and informal which is exactly what we wanted. We didn't have to do any kind of decorating because the gardens are breathtaking on their own. Our photographer loved the location because the locations to shoot were endless. Everyone was entertained by the lawn games they had put out. We had a hydration station that was run flawlessly by the wait staff. I can honestly say it was the best day of our lives and while that seems obvious because it was our wedding day, Kingsbrae Garden (and Brad in particular) played a HUGE role in that. We visited in late June and loved the beautiful gardens, sculpture garden, alpaca, and lunch. We enjoyed a relaxing morning strolling through each garden room and as avid gardeners took in everything from the design to the well marked plants. It seemed most everything was in bloom and we enjoyed an explosion of color everywhere we turned. If I return to the area, I will pay the gardens another visit. Make time to eat in the lovely cafe. We enjoyed a nice glass of wine, delicious sandwiches over looking the garden. Service was excellent and we has the extra treat of watching the alpaca as they took their mid day stroll through the property. read more

The gardens are lovely as is the gift shop. The children's Lady Bug event was both expensive and not worthwhile.
