I made an eBay purchase from these clowns and talk about rude and threatening. Poor communication, damaged product and super rude. I had to contact eBay for resolution of the issue. I would avoid these people at all costs including walking 100 miles to pay twice as much. read more

My boyfriend bought a Mr. Buddy heater for me from King's Hardware. They shipped it to me in the manufacturer's box without any additional packing. Needless to say, it arrived broken. When he called to enquire about an exchange, he was simply given the phone number of the manufacturer and told that they take no responsibility for damage during shipping. Considering that they made no effort whatsoever to ship it safely, it seems that their policy is to take your money, slap a label on the box and leave it to luck if you get what you ordered in working condition. And if not, well, you're on your own. All this despite their e-bay ad clearly stating that they take returns. I don't know how they handle their merchandise in-store but if you're considering having something shipped, I'd recommend finding a more responsible company to work with. read more

Worst. Seller. Ever. From beginning to end. Maybe they are fine for small ticket, small profit items. But for anything else? Or if you might require customer service? No way. Their listings are inaccurate and misleading. Their customer service is unresponsive and unreliable. And in the unlikely event you get them to agree to a return, their returns process is difficult and disorganized. It's almost like they are lost in time and don't realize the level of customer service online retailers typically provide. Oh yeah, and as the other reviews indicate, they are rude beyond belief, and a disservice to Amazon, eBay, True Value, and the brands they sell online. read more

Made a EBay purchase on a Tractor seat. About 2hrs later I measured wrong and figured out the seat wouldn't work. I called them and told the Lady what happened. She gave me a full refund no problem. I put their web site on my favorites. I will order again. Very very good people. read more

I have NEVER encountered such rudeness in my life as Lisa, who works there. I called because of a charge on my credit card. She was unhelpful and i had to ask her 3 times for her name. She finally told me, and when i asked to speak to her manager, she said no, and hung up on me. Also when i asked her if she had the phone number for paypall, where the charge came from, she told me i could google it if i wanted it so badly. After she hung up on me, i called back and asked to speak to a manager, and whoever answered hung up as well. I then called Capital One, who called them on a three way phone call. Lisa was rude to her, and when the Capital One rep told Lisa she needed to work on her customer service skills, Lisa said "why don't you shut up and stop telling me what to do"? I have NEVER been so mortified by a sales clerk in my life!! If this is how businees is done in Tennessee, you will not be in business much longer. Southern hospitality my eye!! Your store is giving all southerners a bad name. read more

For me, there's something magical about an old-fashioned hardware store, crowded with bins and…read moreshelves filled with a tantalizing variety of useful objects and whats-its, and staffed by people who seem to know where everything is and what it's all for. Downtown Hardware lacks the wood floors and high ceilings that I remember from the hardware stores of my childhood, but it fills the bill with its inventory and its staff. Best of all, it's efficient. When I need something specific, I can walk into the store, tell the young staff what I need, and be out the door with my purchase in roughly the same time it would take me to park my car at that big-box home improvement store that often doesn't even stock whatever it is I was looking for. Yes, I'm a fan, and I hope that Downtown Hardware stays in business forever.

If you don't ask the perfectly worded question, their answer is "I don't know, I can't help you" then they walk away. It's too much trouble for them to ask a guiding question or two to help clarify communication. Employee attitude stems from the management. Rather than trying to help, the manager would rather yell and brow beat you over a side issue, than answer your question with a straight answer. The customer is always wrong at this shop, and they make sure you know it. Take your gun business where they treat you with respect and want you to come back again. Like the song says, "some people want to be abused", if that's you, then this is your gun shop. If you expect a modicum of respect, go elsewhere. There is a hardware store just up the street with a very nice gun counter that respects it's customers and is a very pleasant place to do business.
