Could be great but each time I have visited it seems a work in progress. Apart from the people who are actually holidaying in the very immediate vicinity, it is impossible to happen upon it as it is, as far as I can see, very difficult to find from the main road from Wroxham to Hoveton; it was my brother i law who was staying a few yards away that told me of it and it took me a while to find it. The first time I went there, in 2011, there was a large amount of beers displayed, the last time 2015 very few and just as well as with the footfall I saw, they would have thrown a lot away. I was there at a time of day when the Wroxham hotel bar and the Kings head would be heaving. I can only think that it is the lack of accessibility that holds it back. the only way I can see that you can get to it is approach the inside Marina which looks private, behind the boat workshops and walk past the holiday letting agents offices. I can see no way to it from the North end of the bridge as all the approaches are cut off by water. Shame; could be good as this area could do with another decent pub. LC 09 2015

Who would of thought that as a paying customer enjoying the waterside setting whilst paying for several drinks would lead months later to a FINE of £160!!!!! Yet again the pubs staff seem just not to care about there patrons. " have you purchased a ticket for the car park?" that is all that would be required in my mind to satisfy any duty of care the establishment has for its customers. But no! Not a word, apart from how much you owe for the round of drinks. I have read several damming reviews and most seem to contain the exact same words. "Letters sent to my old address" "Extortion" Well we shall be visiting it no more. I warn others to stay away!!!!

I read the signs saying 'Free parking if you buy food or drinks here'. I bought a parking ticket, went to the bar bought food and drinks and asked about the free parking. They did not tell me how to avoid the penalty instead I was told by the person behind the bar that everything is fine and the parking would be free. They should have asked for the PCN number on my ticket at that point but I thought they will take it off the bill, but it doesn't matter anyway because I have just bought a ticket so I will be covered by that anyway. The company that The King's Head hotel were using was Britannia Parking. They sent the fine letter to my old address. The DVLA had not updated their data so the first time I came across any letters was by chance in October because I checked my old address for mail. By this point I had already missed the extortionate early repayment fee of £100 and had to pay a baffling £160.00, or face court action from their legal company BW Legal . The legal company refused to accept any information I provided to them. They did not even offer a dispute service. I paid by cash on the day I visited The King's Head hotel and did not keep the receipt or parking ticket as these items were thrown away as it was two months since the event happened and I did not hear anything about a fine until October. With little evidence I had few options apart from going back to the speak to them in person and explain I had bought a parking ticket and bought food. I asked if they could do something to prevent me getting fined. The person behind the bar asked for the PCN number and said he would sort it. Nothing happened. I then followed up by calling the manager who said he would sort it and confirm that it would be resolved by email, but nothing happened. I never heard back from them. I have just had to pay out £160 just before Christmas to avoid going to court. I will never park or eat here again and will make sure that everyone I know hears about this scandal through word of mouth and social media and I will do my best to warn others to never go here again. I feel total distrust towards The Kings Head pub. The fine amount is completely disproportionate, they completely ripped me off and failed to help me! I am utterly horrified by their lack of understanding or help.

Me and two colleagues took a local's recommendation on excellent restaurants in the area and took a taxi out to the Recruiting Sergeant. Standard beers on offer, but the dinner menu was a very wide variety of local foods and interesting mains. If the waitress hadn't come, we'd probably still be trying to decide on meals. In the end, a cajun-marinated ribeye steak with ceasar salad, the seafood tapas (as a main) and baked fish of some sort. Check the pictures. It's a good thing we were warned to avoid starters unless we were really hungry, because there was a lot of food on these plates and we ate ALL of it. My steak was cooked perfectly and the nice tapas platter looked heavenly while my friend with the fish nearly liked the plate clean. We chose to skip desserts and finished off our beers. Which is not to say that the desserts didn't look tempting, we just didn't have room. Fabulous service, really good food, a decent price. What more can you ask for? We'll be back! Notes. No wi-fi. Really large beer garden in the back looked comfy for a sunny day.

Great beer and brewery but the pub and its service is awful. We won't be coming back and I don't suppose they care, horrible manager. i Suspect no hospitality experience. When pubs close due to lack of custom i always feel sorry but these deserve it. They're just lucky they have a summer holiday trade.

It has a lovely area…read moreto sit outside, they brew their own beers which are very strong! we go there quite often and have never had a bad meal yet staff are very friendly and very efficent. This is one of our fav pubs, in fact we have adopted the two seater table over from the bar!! The only thing I think is lacking is that about 9ish the place magically becomes empty, people tend to eat and go, which is a shame

We show up here for an advertised event (St. Patrick's Day). And they don't have enough food and…read morerefuse to serve. Terrible forecasting. Total amateurs here. We come here, to our local pub, to hear the live "Irish music", which turns out to no be Irish music. They also say they aren't serving ANYTHING to eat because so many people booked tables. So my party of four are sitting there starving and listening to non Irish music on St. Patrick's day. We've been here at least 50 times and we put up with the strange choices of when to serve food. The often aren't serving on Monday, Tuesday I believe. But, when you advertising for an event and you FAIL on all accounts to come through for people who set aside time and plan to come with friends you lose customers. And The Woodman has just lost two customers. Also, you cannot wear "baseball" hats or "hoodies" inside. Change your policy! This isn't 1960 and it's a "gastro pub" not a Strip Club.
