Medium cup of strawberry and coconut ice both flavors were worth getting again! In fact I have yet to have a "bad" flavor.. this place is just a hole in the wall.. depending on the time of day be prepared to wait in what may appear to look like a never ending line but it is well worth it! The staff is usually pretty friend me and they are always will to give a sample or two especially if you've never been. Hands down this is one of the best icee places in Puerto Rico you won't want to miss it. The texture is somewhere between a creamy Italian ice and soft serve ice cream.
King'a Cream located at la plaza de Ponce, PR is a family owned ice cream shop. A tradition at Ponce for more than 43 years. Most of the ice creams offered here are water based and some of the flavors are coconut, pineapple, and parcha (passion fruit). It gets very crowded in there and usually there's a long line (so worth it tho). By the time we got there almost every flavor was sold out. I ended up getting pineapple even tho I wanted parcha but so good overall. ESPAÑOL King'a Cream, ubicada en la plaza de Ponce, PR, es una heladería de propiedad familiar. Una tradición en Ponce desde hace más de 43 años. La mayoría de los helados que se ofrecen aquí son a base de agua y algunos de los sabores son el coco, la piña y la parcha (fruta de la pasión). Se llena mucho allí y por lo general hay una larga cola (vale la pena). Cuando llegamos allí, casi todos los sabores estaban agotados. Terminé comiendo piña aunque quería parcha, pero en general muy bien.
For $1.80, you get a $3-4 cup of ice cream that reminds me of Italian gelato. It's smooth and delicious. Well worth a stop if you're checking out the old firehall across the street. I got fresa (strawberry) and I devoured it in a few minutes. I expected more icy chips and was pleasantly surprised to have it so smooth. They were making it fresh in a mixer right in front of me.
What do I love about King Cream? The freshness and lightness of their ice cream - it was perfect on a hot day. While some people complain about their iciness of their ice cream, this of course is based on personal preference. On a hot day, would you really want to be eating some heavy, creamy ice cream or something light, icy +/- fruity? I'd go for the latter. King Cream was a little hard to find, but it's right across the street from Parque de Bombas. There's usually a line, but fortunately the place is air conditioned. One of the girls in line translated what the flavors were in English, and helped us get a sample of one of the flavors. The ladies behind the counter were really nice and not only gave us the sample we wanted to try (which was a really large scoopful), but also gave us samples of the other flavors without us even asking! What excellent service. My personal favorite flavors were the coconut (coco) and passion fruit (parcha). The medium cup gives you two flavors, and the two together are a great combination - a mix of sweet tang with sweet creaminess. Love it. This place is also very reasonable ($1.71 for a medium cup) and the servings are heaping and generous. Love this place!
Some of the best flavors you will find on the island. Parcha and Coco are the best flavors we found. There is always a crowd but well worth the wait. The business has been family run for generations as I have been coming here since I can remember. Check out their mixing machines, more proof of the quality in their products and a sign of their freshness.

The locals all say this is a must stop wherever you are in the city, so we decided to give it a try. The shop is a very small establishment and it gets very busy. I had a small passion fruit ice cream and it was very good. read more

Really refreshing, cheap ice cream!!! We got a large with mango, almond, and coconut. Almond was my favorite. Overall very light and doesn't make you feel gross. Very fluffy! read more

My family and friends came into this place not sure of which flavors to request. For some reason the lady at the counter hear my son ask for the chocolate flavor and gave him a cup without asking me. Of course he didn't like it neither my other child or husband. I asked kindly to throw it away and I was willing to pay for it and she said don't worry about it. Once she understood that we needed to taste the different flavors before ordering all went well from there. I love passion fruit anything and loved my ice. We tried the Guanabana/ Soursop flavor and that was delicious, the limón was great as well it tasted just like a limeade. Tried the China/orange and that was a bummer but the coconut made up for it. The place is small and clean, the attendants were pleasant and attentive. They only accept cash. Parking in the area is scarce. Overall our experience was great and my family got to taste a little taste of my childhood living in PR. read more
With a texture somewhere in-between ice cream and sorbet, King Cream's creations are supremely light and refreshing on a scorching Puerto Rican summer day. It's a little bit hard to find since there's no store sign, but look for Hotel Melia-- King Cream is located inside, and there is always a line outside for it! All of their flavors are great, but for me-- the combination of Almendra & Coco (Almond & Coconut) were unbeatable. On top of that, the total for 3 medium scoops and 1 small scoop was $6.50! With those prices, it doesn't hurt to try them all! read more

We stumbled upon this place after visiting the Cathedral across the street during our drive to Ponce from San Juan. We noticed folks congregating in the shop and we were wondering why so we ventured inside. We saw scoops of fluffy light ice cream being served to a line of people. My husband and I decided to join the queue and sample some. He had a scoop of mango and I had a scoop of coconut on a cone. OMG! The icy smooth mixture of light gelato sorbet creamy flavor and texture was an unforgettable symphony in our mouths. Before my husband finished his scoop, I went back for more. This time I tried strawberry and ordered another scoop of the coconut. The strawberry was good too but my fave is the coconut! We both knew that we would not find ice cream like this anywhere else so we were a bit sad to leave the Ponce area. But if we are ever in Puerto Rico again, I would make the trek to Ponce just for this ice cream ( although calling it just ice cream doesn't do it justice). read more

Yum! It's good I found out about this place on my last day in Ponce or I would have been here every day! I got the coconut and passion fruit and they were delicious and refreshing. The coconut was my favorite. Really reasonably priced! read more

Literally the best coconut frozen concoction I've everrrrrr had!! Prices are crazy cheap too! Very simple little place in the ponce plaza..clean, straightforward.. About 8 flavors.. I got a medium coco and it was $2.05... And it was a largeeeee medium! Sat and ate some and watched the lady prepare more sorbet almost like a ritual dance. Super delicious and fresh! Ice cream is made fresh. They have several flavors. If you get a medium to a large cup you can mix flavors. They are open late which is convenient for travels after checking in to their hotel. It's in a great location. You will need to cool off while in Ponce, I recommend King Cream. read more
