I saw Dr. Uldrikson for about 2 years while living near Kingman, AZ. Before my first visit I spoke…read moremany times with his office staff about my insurance and what they would cover after they verified my insurance. After my appointment, I ended up getting a bill for the full amount and when I called about it, I was told my insurance did not cover him. I have a very limited income and that was the reason for my numerous calls before my visit to verify payment. Needless to say, I was put in quite a bind to pay them off and I ended up losing my temper and having words with the staff. I later apologized for raising my voice. Then a year later I woke up on the day of a scheduled cleaning with Dr. Uldrikson and my tongue started swelling. It had never happened to me before, so I called while on my way to his office to see if I should head to the ER instead. The staff member spoke with the dentist and he said to come into his office. I should have not listened. By the time I got there, my tongue was so swollen that I could barely speak. I was taken to a room and left alone fore a few minutes. Then the dentist walked in. He did not say a word (as usual) and suddenly was "cleaning" my teeth and 10 minutes or so later, he got up and left. It is very odd to me to have the dentist do the cleaning, let alone in like 10 minutes. It is also odd that he never tells me who he is or what he was going to do. And even more odd, Dr. Uldrikson never even said anything about a potentially life-threatening concern. I sat there for another 10 minutes wondering if I was done, which is a usual state to be in in his office, and finally decided I should ask someone. I went to the front and asked the nurse (?) if I was done and what did he say about my tongue. She went to ask him, he was in the back but I could see him , and when she asked him about my tongue I could hear his voice raise and he was berating her for not telling her I was that patient. You would think he would notice a tongue so large it was now keeping my mouth from shutting all the way! I decided to go to the ER right away and it was a good idea, because I was taken right back and examined. A CT scan, steroids, and an EpiPen injection later, my tongue swelling started to go down and they eventually could let me go home. I never did get a real answer on why it happened, but at least they stopped the swelling and sent me home with strict orders to see my PCP right away and an RX for an EpiPen. Dr. Uldrikson could have allowed me to die without even acknowledging me as a person. I always felt like just a set of teeth when I went to see him. I advise you to go to anyone else before making an appointment with this dentist who probably should have retired at least 10 years ago.

I went in because I broke a tooth, or rather shattered it, and discovered a horrible cavity under the surface. The dental assistant asked if I'd like it taken out, since that seemed to be the only option. I expected as much. So I said yes and she went and got me my estimate. While waiting, Dr. Uldrikson came in and didn't say a word. If I hadn't said hello, I doubt he would've made a peep at me. He was horribly rough, he shoved that needle in my mouth so hard I barely had time to comprehend what he had just done. No warning, nothing. He didn't even tell me he was about to numb me. Then he wandered off without telling me what he was doing. I knew we had to wait for the numbing to kick in, but still, at least say "I will be right back." Or something. When he went to start the extraction, I wasn't numb all the way so he had to try a few more times. Each time he was as rough as the first time. He scraped my tongue with the needle a couple times too. Didn't even apologize. The extraction itself was fine, after being numbed a thousand times, of course I'm not gonna feel it. But as soon as he was done he was off. Didn't say another word to me, he just ran off to his next paycheck. That was how I felt, like he was digging in my mouth for gold and once he was done, it was "Screw off, see you later." The dental assistant, thankfully, told me about my aftercare and made me feel comfortable and at ease. I am SO grateful for her. Then when I went to leave, the receptionist told me the doctor wrote down that I need two more teeth examined, which he didn't say a word to me about at all. Didn't even hint at it. He pointed them out when he first looked in my mouth but all he said was "Got a couple cavities back here." And that was it. He didn't say he wanted to examine them or what he wanted to do. The receptionist had to get up and go ask him what that was about. Hell no I am not going back to him. I pity his staff for having to work with such an uncaring, unprofessional, stone cold husk of a man. Perhaps if he worked on his bedside manner and didn't man handle people in a delicate situation, I would. But I won't. Bad form, doc. Bad form..

The crown I had done never did fit right. Even when fitting the temporary cap, I kept telling him it had high spots. He chose to send the mold off anyway, and guess what....the permanent crown also had high spots. Imagine that. He cemented it in, and I complained of high spots. He made adjustments, I told him it was still high. He told me the blue tape showed good contact. Dr. Anderson gets this tension in him that is intimidating, and I was scared frankly, so I went home. Upon really thinking about it, I realized....yes, the crown has good contact, but the teeth other side of my mouth didn't even meet because the crown was so high! He didn't floss my crown, so when I tried to floss that night, I could NOT force the floss in. I went back the next day to try again. He said he didn't know why I couldn't floss. He had flossed it just fine. (HE HAD NOT, but I wasn't going to piss him off while I was laying prone in his chair.) He had a devil of a time getting the floss through. I told him it was high, and he snarkily said, "Fine, I'll grind it down below the other teeth" (paraphrasing). And he started grinding. He didn't advise me that sometimes you can imagine a high spot on a crown when it's really other teeth, he just started grinding. And he jammed his mirror under my tongue (I think on purpose....but that's my interpretation). Oh, and his staff will quote you "zero" out of pocket for your treatment plan, and then you will get a bill in the mail. So plan on that. The crown: it's livable at best. It barely touches when I bite, but it's better than the alternative where it pounded against the opposing tooth.

I told her I have had 3 sets of dentures made that do not fit because the bite has been incorrect do to the fact I have a floating jaw. The woman without ever meeting me wanted to argue with me. She tells me I don't have a floating jaw without ever seeing me despite what I was told by 2 other dentists. She said I needed implants or I could not wear dentures. I am wearing my old broken dentures and keeping them in with a previous soft reline. Halfway through arguing with this woman she then said they do soft relines. I can't do implants as I don't have enough bone. I finally just hung up on her. It wasn't worth arguing with someone who would also lie to me. Nope Nope Nope. No thank you.

When I went to that appointment, the doctor wouldn't do it and talked me out of it for some reason saying I looked ok and didn't really need them and he told me they was a little hole in one of my crowns that I should spend my money on, they never told me about it before which seems like malpractice. Also the last time I had a cleaning the nurse had a hard time getting to the spot between the wisdom tooth so she told the doctor who said we may have to pull that wisdom tooth so she can get to the spot, yes pull a perfectly good tooth! I had to cancel the next cleaning because I had a doctors appointment at the same time so she canceled the appointment but didn't reschedule another appointment so I called to ask for them to reschedule but never got a call so I will find a dentist that will do the work but it was a rude experience from someone that is supposed to be professional.
