I can't begin to describe how lovely it was, they only use fresh, organic ingredients, and you can really tell. The cupcakes are delivered as a box of nine all nicely wrapped up and with a gift card to the destination of your choice (well, in Bristol anyway). Here's the catch, here's why I didn't give if 5 stars - for nine cupcakes you'll have to part with £15.00, plus a £5.00 delivery charge. That's £20 for 9 cupcakes. That's £2.22 recurring per cupcake. We stumbled across The CupCake Bakery 10 days before our wedding and contacted Zoe. She was super helpful and pulled out all the stops to help us (She has been booked to provide cakes for another wedding already on the same day of our wedding, but happy to squeeze us in after I told her our situation!) We were worried about how the cakes will turn out as we didnt have time to travel to Bristol to do tasting session. I enjoy cooking and baking myself so super fussy about the taste (but will be better than no cake at all at that point!). Zoe was very helpful in explaining how she was going to achive the tastes and decorations and promised us the cakes will be tasty, not over sugary and super moist. we had 2 different flavours for the cupcakes (Mango+ passion fruit, and chocolate) and a rasberry based top layer 6" cake. A sweet, plain yogurt with some crunchy granola is a light, yet filling, shopping snack. The coffee warmed me up for the cold road ahead. Rob had a hot chocolate and a pain au chocolat. Yeah, he's got a bit of a sweet tooth. Servers were polite, professional and helpful. Our orders took a bit too long, considering we were right behind the bakery counter. Of course, it was very busy. I understand the wait, but I was a bit hangry (hungry + angry). Not a good emotion to have. It's definitely the less American choice we could find. How funny, the Americans come to England, expecting English-style food, but the closest we could find in the mall is a French patisserie.

The crowd goes wild…read more Trust me when I tell you I don't give out an award like this willy-nilly and I am not alone in my opinion. From the first time it touches your lips it is just perfect. Perfect in temperature (not too hot, but stays warm) and flavour (slightly sweet without sugar). This is how it should be done. They do other things well, like their amazing bread that is their own recipe; it is not bought from any supermarket. All the cakes are made by local chefs as well and are delicious. Sourdough Cafe is hidden slightly, down at the far end of St Nick's market, under the glass arcade. I even love the way it looks, with a worn beach wood interior and furniture, you feel like you are sat in a beach hut. It really is so relaxing, even during the hustle and bustle of lunchtime down in St. Nicks. I love it, this place was such a hidden gem, a genuine find, an incredible treat...ok I'll stop...I was the first to review it. From time to time, I've been inconspicuously walking past, peeking if they have brought it back, but perhaps next time I should just stop and beg them to. It really was that good.
