My wife and I like to shop for goods and services from local merchants. We have generally found that the local businesses provide excellent customer service. However, our recent experience with King Kitchens is the exception to that rule. We cannot recommend King Kitchens. We have renovated five kitchens, 4 in the last 8 years. We can say unequivocally that King Kitchens has done the worst job of any of our previous vendors.
1. The granite was of poor quality and had a crack that had been filled with glue. The fabrication was poorly done with corners and edges that were unfinished.
2. Their design and installation was poor. They pieced the main countertop on the opposite side of the kitchen sink where it would have been less obvious. The seam between the two pieces is rough and unsightly.
3. The backsplash was awful. They changed the tile from the one we had selected without ever notifying us. The tile they selected was one we had previously rejected. When asked about it, we were informed that our selected tile was unavailable and yet the very next morning I went to Home Depot to buy another sample and saw more than half a pallet of the tile we had selected. The installation of the tile was all about speed rather than quality. Throughout the entire backsplash, tiles are unevenly spaced, not level and above or below the adjacent tiles.
4. Poor customer service. We were given very short notice for installation. Once the installation was done, we went to speak with the owner about our dissatisfaction. He was very rude, simply did not care and refused to address any of the issues.
Bottom line, we are not recommending King Kitchens and only wished that we had searched out reviews from people who had problems with King Kitchens. Based on our terrible experience with them, we would definitely avoid King Kitchens. We have spent well over $5,000 to repair their low quality materials and terrible lack of workmanship. read more
