They definitely try here but a lot of the food was a little deterring, even after trying a bite or two. It is a great deal for all you can eat but there is not a lot of viable options. Staff was friendly and attentive though, which is why there are two stars instead of one. Most of the food is cold and hard although you see the steam when picking it up. The soups had a gelatin hardening since it had been sitting so long and definitely didn't look enjoyable although I still tried the egg drop soup. I just couldn't get over the gelatinous texture and taste. The red meat options usually tasted better than the chicken as most the chicken was rubbery. I did enjoy the garlic bread and cream cheese wontons with sweet and sour sauce. The coconut macaroons and jello were also yummy for dessert. Everything else I only took a bite or two. Well, I was in the area today and saw King House and after looking it up, I saw it only had a two star review so I was hoping it would be a little better and sadly it was not. Where to begin... Let me first start off by saying and I'll say this early as other people won't waste their money but with a drink, it was $17 and change for a lunch buffet that offered literally little to no edible food. So if grease and cold to warm specialties are your desire and this is your paradise. The egg rolls were good, but absolutely covered in grease, they were literally glistening. The general Tsaos chicken was almost warm and extremely soggy the sesame chicken was tougher than leather . The only good thing where the green beans. They had so many empty spaces for food and I'm really not even sure why there was no chicken and broccoli only beef and broccoli. There was no pepper steak. There was sweet-and-sour chicken, but the sauce was literally like a jelly because that again was cold. There was dumpling sauce, but no dumplings. They had something that looked like a sushi roll, and there was no way in hell I was going to eat it. They had a couple soups and that rounds out the food. The dessert bar had a couple cookies and cakes that you would typically find it maybe a generic pastry shop. I'm not sure, but they had just chocolate strawberry and vanilla ice cream, and that was probably the highlight of the buffet, I tried the green and the red Jell-O and I have never had Jell-O that was hard in my life . Some of the Jell-O squares were dark green and somewhere a normal shade of green, so I'm not sure what that was about either. The service was good. My drinks got refilled timely and that was a plus and that's probably the only thing that yeah this place a one star. I am aggravated that I spent $19 with a tip and I'm about 12 miles down the road right now and I'm starting to get pains in my stomach that as it may, this is a one and done. read more

I was happy to try this buffet as I usually enjoy Chinese buffets, but what a disappointment! There were two of us, and we went for lunch. We both had the buffet and a soft drink. The food was warm at best, and nothing was good. To add insult, the bill was 40.00! I would not recommend this place at all! Food was cold and many of the trays on the buffet looked like they had been sitting there for quite some time before being refreshed! The only thing that looked good was the peel and eat shrimp (which I didn't try) because of the rest of the food! Egg rolls were just OK! Chicken on a stick would have been good had it been hot but it was cold and had been sitting there for a while! Definitely my first and last trip! I understand that Chinese restaurants in the US are not authentic. But this is terrible. Cold egg rolls. Crunchy fried rice. Cold General Tsos chicken. The folks are nice enough. This is an honest to God great buffet with incredible food! I ate way more than i thought i would and they really knocked a lot of staples out of the park :) It was cooked with LOVE! I enjoyed being able to take my time to eat and was able to comfortably sit distanced away from people. Even when it was busy it was quiet.. always a good sign - everybody's busy chewing! ;) I really can't say enough about the variety and seasonings. The teriyaki chicken had very fresh citrus flavor in it, the lo mein was bold and flavorful without being overpowering, and even the beef and broccoli had flavors that delighted me with it's signature profile. Biggest standouts were the bacon wrapped shrimp, the chicken with bell peppers and caramelized onions, and the baked mussels. Awesome service, friendly staff, good prices, fully stocked buffet, comfortable seating, pleasant atmosphere. 10/10 :) King House will be my first stop next time I come through town. read more

This buffet has good selection, the food was very hot when I attended too. The common food: beef & broccoli, fried rice, general tso chicken were always being refreshed and tasted great. I was passing by on my way to Naples and really craved Chinese food. Thankfully, I found King House on the way as I stopped by to visit the lake. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their buffet. The service was fast and I really like the salt and pepper shrimp, crawfish, mussels and general chicken! read more

King House is an excellent Chinese buffet restaurant--indeed, the only decent Chinese restaurant outside of West Palm Beach and P. D. Chang's. King House also serves to order. The most important thing about a buffet is the timing if you want the hottest food. Snow Crab legs are generously served on Fridays and Saturdays. We have spoken to patrons (fellow workers, acquaintances) who do not like the place, but have never been able to get a reason for their dislike. The decor is a bit dingy--there are no small, decorative table lamps or candles--but the food is generally quite satisfactory. I do like fried fish, and, unfortunately, the offering is generally only lukewarm at best. But if you catch the place at the right time of day, other selections will be hot, delicious, and unlimited. Honestly, we've been all over about a sixty-mile radius, and King House is the best Chinese restaurant you are going to find, although Golden Corral and Cowboys in Okeechobee, are acceptable alternatives, if the goal is a decent meal. We eat out frequently and a tiny hamlet such as Okeechobee doesn't offer much. We have loyally returned to King House for over four years, at least once every two weeks, and most of the time, once per week, on weekends. We try to time our meals with lunch or dinner, when there will be more patrons visiting and a higher food turnover, so buffet offerings are at their best. read more

I love the many selections here. There are 5 food bars including salads, deserts,fried food, stir fry. My favorite is the General tso chicken and beef with broccoli. I like how I can come here hungry and eat immediately to take care of my cravings. Also on Friday and Saturday nights, I enjoy the snow crab legs on their dinner buffet. It's a great deal. read more

This has to be one of the worst places I have ever eaten at. We attended on a Friday night where they have a seafood buffet. I was afraid to eat a lot of it. The rice was bland-even the white rice was awful. I tried one sushi role-maybe a California? It was like eating a blob of cream cheese.
