I apologize for writing in English, but this enables me to…read moreexpress myself better. I have been operated 4 times in Wallensteinklinik for the large abscess and consequential anal fistulas (and fistula recidives). If you just google around a bit, you will find that fistula treatment is still an area where contemporary medicine has not achieved a satisfactory state, i.e. methods for fistula treatment are far from providing a sure 1-time success. Treatments are painful, healing not certain, and suffering can last for years. One of the relatively newer methods which is considered beneficial comparing to the conventional surgical procedures is the laser treatment. Dr. Koc at Wallensteinklinik applies it. The advantage of the method is that fistula tract gets burned from the inside, which results in better and faster healing, and it requires less invasive procedure in general (less cutting is needed). Beside this particular detail, the remaining work which dr. Koc does belongs to the area of standard (conventional) medicine (for instance, closing the fistula opening with mucosal flap). This means that post-operative time can still be very painful, but is generally shorter comparing to the conventional treatment so we don't talk about months, but weeks of postoperative recovery. About surgical qualities of dr. Koc I can only say good things - all the surgical procedures he did in my case were done extremely well. I really felt like I was treated by a surgeon which had golden hands. This is not just my personal feeling, but has also been confirmed by secondary proctologist/surgeon who inspected my condition later on. Let me just quote his words (we talk about a surgeon working in a hospital which in my country not Germany- is highly appreciated for having good surgeons): the surgeon who operated you really did an exemplary job. Unfortunately, because of nature of fistulas (easy to re-appear, difficult to locate, prognosis depends on the layout of the fistula tract), in my case it took 4 consequent surgeries (done in a time span of 6 months) to achieve a satisfactory state from surgical point of view. And here goes my first critic: one of the tracts which was actually present from the beginning has been located only in the 4th surgery, although it was even visible on the MRT scan pictures which I did after the 2nd surgery, and which were available to dr. Koc. Teaching: even the best doctors are sometimes superficial, or just distracted because of too much work, and can make mistakes for these reasons. In my case, this mistake probably caused additional costs and yet another round of pain and suffering. Second critic would go to the Wallensteinklinik itself. Although personnel are generally nice and they cook a good food, there were problems with visits which I received. Both me and my girlfriend insisted that she'd be around in my hospital room once I wake up from anesthesia, as long as it doesn't clash with medical procedures. This wish of mine was not respected medical staff (sisters) literally slammed door in front of my girlfriend's nose several times, although I couldn't see any valid reason for this. Another negative thing was that, for one of many post-operative checkups, I received a bill charging me for ultrasound examination which didn't take place. After I complained, they sent me a new bill without ultrasound costs, but they suggested per telephone that actually the examination did take place, but they couldn't find pictures to prove it (??), so they would forgive me the original bill. Now a brief question after I spent xx xxx EUR in the clinic, and after my insurance paid for everything (i.e. I had no personal costs at the end), would I really deny an ultrasound examination just to save 100 EUR to my insurance? Positive thing is that feedback was possible at the end of staying in the clinic, I was offered a feedback form where I could write my critics and praising. However, I have never received any response or explanation related to the negative things which I wrote although I have been visiting the clinic for many more months after the last operation. The last (again negative) thing that I need to mention is dr. Koc's approach to his own work. (I believe this egoistic component is a feature that most of doctors possess, so it's not just about dr. Koc the problem is widely spread around the world of conventional medicine.) After the 4th operation, things got significantly better (as soon as the original hole which I mentioned was closed) however it was still not perfect. I thought that some time was needed, but even after one year still I had problems. All dr. Koc was able to say was approximately it looks fine, you should see another doctor. At the end, when I already changed the proctologist and when the new doctor finally took out the non-resorbable sutures (germ. Faden) which were still there and which were causing the remaining discomfort, the things got completely OK. Now I don't

(07-08.06.2018) Hi…read morethere folks!! I too got to get for a wonderful visit and time of stay at the Gastroenterology, Endocrinological Unit in that (Hospital) @ the Klinikum Nürnberg Nord (north) from the 07th till the 08th.06th.2018!! The reason for my actual unwanted stay was of my "again" having problems with my Gallstones, Gallbladder or so and in the area of my Abdomen. The doctors always said in the past that it had something to do with That!! Of course, they´re the one´s that seam to be always right like at this time again. roll eyes! And now, I was back again, mennooo! :-( Actually i´m not very fond of Hospitals "at all", wether its the one in the south or this one here in the North!,because i too have had some very bad experiences here as well as also in the past. The problem? They´re most of the time so arrogant, the doctors like also the Nurses but this time, i have had a woooooooooooooooooooonderfull time of my life!! :-))) At the Emergency, of course i had to wait for hoooooooours and hours until my time came for what ever!! They just don´t understand, how boring it may be when someone needs to wait for medical attention or one needs to wait for a Endoscopic gastroscope, not allowed to eat until it´s done for!! Now THAT was a bonus and triumph for me to hear once they´ve told me not to eat from now on and drink!! Heyyyy! Wonderful for me hihihi! :-) because i´m also Bulimic and at times i need to get and become again "Anorexic" which needs to be done because i just can´t get my weight down, gaining sometimes between 200g and 400g a day, is no compromise for me! Anorexia Purging needs also to be done in intervals at times to my body, ... invade myself again! It´s quite a complicated struggle that i need to life and life with since about three years but it´s ok though. To the Gastroenterologist, MAGENSPIEGELUNG!! The team, where i was with them at the time during my wonderful Hospital stay at that station, the male nurse who meet me in the late evening, he´s even brought me something to eat, since i was allowed to eat something, the endoscopic abdomen was supposed to be done in the next morning which was already "the next morning"! Hihihih :-) I told him that i was Bulimic, and still he brought me more then i could eat at that time, because i´ve feld really ill with nausea and vomiting during the past 72 hours! After i was done with the meal, which ive left more then the half of two toasts, three sausages and cheese and tee, he looked at me so .. ??? I asked him, WHAT? :-) He just shock his head and i said, no, it´s ok! I love Hospital Food, it really IS really good especially, when the servings with no salt, because i hate salt and butter, i didn´t get any because i didn´t want any, because from Butter one will get only fat and i´m too fat already... When i watch that series on TLC, showing those overweight people in the state, i see myself just as fat as they are! :-O So anyways, i too got quite scared from that Magenspiegelung, gastroscope because the Darmspiegelung "colonoscopy" that i have in memory, although the Pain and sleep injection that they´ve been given to me for many years, i´ve felt EVERYTHING!! :-O So I´ve told doctors since that time, that How come they´re not taking more care for their patience´s and before they show that gastroscope Hose into one´s butt, they should at least have the gut and rub that gastroscope cable with some nice warm feeling Water-based lubricant or even better, some which are on silicone-based, so it lasts "much longer" they´re and our fun and we all have more fun with it thereafter hiihiih ;-) Getting an Ultrasound done the same way, they´re doing it as well so, the way i stated it!! I guess, Doctors are "not always - the smartest" in the group?? And YOU know what????? :-OOOOOOOO !! :-))))))))))))))) That MAGENSPIEGELUNG Gastroenterology was the greatest time that i enjoyed at the hospital!!! I didn´t even feel the injection nor did i get one at all! I told the nurse still in my room upstairs to get to get an anesthesia because i´m too affright to feel interior pain again!! So she told me to tell them that also, prior i get it, getting "looked through", getting that Hose shoved one down the throat! :-) Then they gave me such a safety mouth peace and showed it me into my mouth, that´s a "Aufbissschine", a "Bite rail"! (...) Then I opened up my eyes, "w o n d e r i n g".... why am i still in their "waiting area"? The intervention did not hurt at all, not a bit! I´m sooo HAPPY!! Jumping up and down!!! And i told the nurses that i found it so great that i´d do it again !Any time" again!!! :-))) They found me a bit weird but that´s OK! They are a GREAT team at that station and they were like Family to me!! I love them all there!! :-))
