I stumbled upon this motel by chance, and I'm so glad I did. After traveling all day, all we wanted was a hot shower and a good night's rest. The room has a nostalgic, throwback feel, but it was exceptionally clean. The sheets were crisp and bright white, the bathroom was spotless, and the carpet had been freshly vacuumed. The owners who checked me in were incredibly kind and welcoming. It was nice to see the whole family there--it gave the place a warm, personal touch. I'm truly grateful I found this motel. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay, I would definitely recommend it.

Sure, it's bare bones ( shared bathrooms and sometimes saggy mattresses) but the price is reasonable, its clean and big and a super comfortable place for our 60+ family members to hang out and reconnect. The lake is lovely and the dock and beach are the only things we need to entertain us on a warm summer day. The kids like the rowboats and trips to the store for candy. One recent big negative is that the lodge staff can no longer cook and serve meals. The Silver Dollar restaurant is a short walk away, but it's just not the same as being served breakfast (or dinner) on site.

(Hope you like duck-themed decor...the proprietors sure seem to!) The bathroom appears to have been remodeled not long ago and was very clean. Be warned the water pressure is quite high--don't open the faucets all the way at first. Bed was comfortable, if a little soft. Our room was a kithenette unit which included a medim-size refrigerator and microwave as well as a double hot plate. Drawers in kitchen area had pots/pans/utensils. We weren't doing any of our own cooking this trip, but certainly would find that handy on some of our Grayling excursions. The River Country was full the night we stopped but we had no problems with noisy neighbors. Very nice little place.

Do you ever have that traveling experience where it feels like you won the lottery unexpectedly?…read moreThis happened to us here at this super sweet lodge. Wow, did we score. I called at 930pm, with my fingers crossed, looking for same night reservations. The gentleman that answered was friendly and said someone had just canceled and we could have the last room available. We were 10 minutes away and turns out the owner met us in the parking lot and we were able to pay easily on line and get in our room within minutes. Room is squeaky clean and has so many thoughtful touches and everything you need. From coffee makings, to a mini fridge, place to put your luggage, great shower & bathroom amenities and most importantly, a comfortable bed. The room is private and easily accessible right from your car parked out front. There is an even a backyard area with fire pits, sauna & hot tub! Pickleball too! It is nestled in the woods and feels like modern decor & amenities meets rustic and cozy setting. It would be so fun to rent out all these rooms for a family reunion, or wedding, or just a fun weekend with friends. THIS is THE place to stay in Grayling. Don't bother with any of the other options.
