I made appointments for 4 pedicures so I could enjoy a day with my mom and sisters. When we arrived they were on time and 3 of the pedicures got started right away. Mine started about 10 minutes later, but by that time the other 3 were getting polish applied... For $43 a pedicure I would expect a LOT more than a 10-15 minute pedicure. An older lady did my pedicure and took her time, but unfortunately I was the one who started late so the other 3 people with me sat and watched. I'm giving 2 stars because it was clean. Terrible terrible terrible. If I could give no stars I would. I called at 4 to see if the had any openings and the woman who answered said the could get me in at 5. I agreed and hung out in town so that I could get my nails done because I was in desperate need. I just moved to the area and my nail tech is an hour and a half away. The guys who did my nails seemed like he had better things to do and was extremely rough with me. He burned my skin with the drill. Didn't even ask how long or what shape I wanted and was finished with the nails and polish in 25 minutes. It takes much longer than 25 minutes to properly do a full set and polish. There is color all over my skin and cuticles. Such a TERRIBLE JOB. Seriously I rather go without or drive an hour than ever go there again. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Well I am super pleased to say, I am a happy Kim's Nails customer. I went in very hesitant only because I do not usually get my nails done and the last two places were in Grand Rapids and California, so my expectations were high. I went in and got the dips and outside of the high price, I am very pleased. I understand being in this area with literally no competition (with dips) they can pretty much write their own price. The nail technician was super pleasant and easy to have a conversation with. I will definitely go back but probably not as often as I would like just because of the price ($50). I had a appointment for a pedicure done took all of 25 minutes she cleaned the cuticles removed some dry skin off, not bad. The unreasonably reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the price was $43.00 yes you heard correctly oh I know there is a shortage of staff in this post pandemic they had 4 staff but the owner said very busy salon...and "THIS IS NOT a spa only a basic nail necessity" nothing to right home about. No tip since got no spa treatment and I paid a lot. It's pretty high cost since I pay $48.00 in California for a 1 1/2 hour spa nail treatment with many types of feet scrub fragrant dips, hot bagged creams, hot rocks, and a 15 minute massage. My humble thought is this area must have great income to support this minuscule foot treatment because we will now wait to go back home for any future feet treatment. A regular maní pedi is $68.00 here that's highway robbery to me. Wow ! read more

I went for a peficure yesterday and it was the worse most painful i have ever had. He made my toe bleed by cutting the cuticle too much and used a scraper on my heal that took off a patch of skin the size of a dime that is raw, oozing and bleeding. I have been in pain since yesterday. There is absolutely no excuse for this neglegence. I went with my daughter and she had a wonderful pedicure. Just dont have the owner/ man fo yours. Here it is almost 3 weeks later and still dealing with the open wound i received at this salon. Painful all the time and can not wear closed shoes. Wow two beauty reviews back to back, with the holidays literally around the corner my mom and I wanted a hair cut and decided to pair that update with festive matching nails. We have been to Kim's 5-6 times over the past year and a half. Only place I'd go as I'm not really someone who regularly frequents salons and such. The facility is clean, colorful and comfortable. The nail color selection is vast and the price is competitive and standard for these services. They do more than nails and my mom has gotten a pedicure/manicure a few times in the past. It's a husband and wife they own the place and they work side by side. They know most customers by name and are just so sweet. The aim for perfection with nail design and I tend to bring in reference images off Pinterest to better explain. They understand English perfectly but have strong accents themselves so I just feel it helps. Love this place!! Couldn't say anything bad. read more

Now we know why the place was empty and never saw another customer come in. From out of town and came in for one mans basic pedicure, and one basic ladies mani / pedi which we received and were underwhelmed. $90.00! I told her you must be mistaken she pointed to some sign, argued that's what they charge. I said your prices are higher than Orange County or San Fransisco! The locals obviously stay away in droves. This place gave me the best manicure I've ever had in my life. I get a shellac manicure every two weeks and was in Michigan on vacation, and decided to stop in and have my nails done. I am so sad that I won't be able to come here again because seriously I have never had a manicure this good. The staff that works there is very friendly as well and their prices are reasonable! And for the type of service you get, it is definitely worth what you pay for, which not that expensive. The salon is super clean too! All around great experience!!!! If I could give more stars I would! And I can't remember the technicians name, but he was very friendly and did an awesome job! read more

My mom and I visited this salon on our vacation to get manicures. The gentleman doing my mom's nails filed too close to the nail bed, making it very painful for her. The woman doing my nails was in a hurry and cut my fingers THREE times (which, in my opinion, is unacceptable). Although our nails looked nice, I would not go back to this salon. read more

In a word HORRIBLE! There wasn't one Customer in the Salon the entire time! Very unpleasant and unprofessional. Didn't even trim cuticles. The work was fast and gloopy and my gel nail finish had bumps and it bubbled. It chipped three nails within 24 hours! Never again will I go to thjs over priced unprofessional, sloppy salon I'll travel to the next City next time I'm in the area! read more

Ok I just visited Kim's Nails since new management took over. The old salon was dark, dingy, and dirty and now is quite the opposite. The owners were pleasant and worked quickly however they must think they are in the big city because the prices are too high for the area. I have lived in Gaylord part or full time for 10 years and regularly get mani/pedis, but until they lower the prices or give more value for services provided I will not be going back. read more

First of all, walk ins are NOT welcome. A manicure means a polish change. And don't ask to get your nail fixed if it smears. Don't pick a color that Kim doesn't like. And only pay with cash. Don't leave until Kim sprays your hands with hairspray. And DEFINITELY don't change your mind about your color. If you aren't from Gaylord, you are not welcome. 1/10 do not recommend. Recommended for a good laugh with friends if you make Kim angry. read more

Worst experience ever! After looking at 4 huge display boards of air brushed designs, I was told "we don't do that any more" (so why advertise it in your shop?), I asked for my nails to be reshaped and was told they would need to be trimmed (the were very short to begin with-just barely over my finger tip), I said just a tiny trim-she chopped the first one down to even with my finger tip and had to do the rest to match. I asked for a certain color I saw on the rack on the wall and she said "we don't do that color any more" then she asked if I was from out of town, when I said yes, she said "that's why"...what does that mean? Because I am from out of town, you can lie to me and do a terrible job? I got a French manicure on my own nails. While I was sitting drying, I noticed the clear coat was bubbly and brought it to their attention. She ran right over and slopped on some really thick top coat to try to cover the bubbles, and told me to let it dry-it would be fine. When it was dry it wasn't fine. Rather than make it right, they told me I could go. Don't waste your money at this place!!! My nail polish chipped within 1 day and within 3 days all the nails were chipped. I was on vacation and not cooking or cleaning. read more
