My friend and I came here for lunch and were so impressed by both the food and the service. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming from the moment we walked in. There was an irate customer during our visit who began BERATING the server, but she handled the situation with professionalism and grace. The customer had already eaten a good portion of their meal before complaining about the price, portion size, and fish quality, but our experience was completely the opposite. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The portions were generous and absolutely worth the price. The customer also claimed that the server disappeared into the back, which wasn't true at all. She was actually very attentive and constantly moving around to help everyone. She was the only server working at the time, and I think she did an amazing job taking care of the entire restaurant. The server even took the time to apologize to the whole restaurant afterward for the disturbance, which showed how much she cared about everyone's dining experience. Overall, the food was absolutely delicious. Rich, authentic, and such a perfect representation of Korean cuisine. You can really taste the care and tradition in every bite. This is one of my favorite restaurants, and I'm surprised that I haven't reviewed it yet. I always get the bibimbap with the meat and the fried egg, and it's always perfect. We're almost always served by the same people, and we know each other now, even though we comply come once or twice a year. This was my second time here and it was a great experience. The waitress whom I believe is the wife gave me recommendations on my meal. I started with the Mandoo which was a Korean dumpling which was very good. Then for my main course I ordered the Bulgogi Chungsik which was a beef dish that had a very good flavor and I would get it again but I would try something else on the menu. It was a small restaurant in a strip mall but I did notice they had regulars that came in and the waitress did have a conversation with them which told me their food was good. Food was so good - first we had some potstickers (Mandu) probably the best ones I've had - I could have eaten a dozen. We both had the beef (#2) which was excellent and loved trying all the sides, especially the spicy ones. Place is small but cozy. Service was very friendly and Mom is a heck of a cook. We love Korean food, particularly a fired up stone bowl of dolsot bibimbap. How is it that I live 15 minutes from this place that has been open 17 years and did not know it even existed? Well, that is no longer the case. Thank Goodness! First. Yum. Yum. Yum. The good is reasonably priced, fresh, and tastes homemade. Two sisters cook it all! We started with mandu dumplings (thin slender Korean deep fried dumplings - vegetarian - 6 in an order). Then we all ordered beef bibimbap. The lunch portion was perfect. Bulgogi was amazing as were the gyoza. I thought they would be questionable because they had tofu I believe and not meat. The waitress (daughter in law) said they taste me amazing and you couldn't tell. She was right! Order them. The service she provided as our waitress was great and she was very polite and friendly. Service was a little slow but the food and the value and hospitality was worth the wait. The mother/chef came out and gave our boys a cookies as a treat. We were in town for a Spartan race. I would highly recommend. It takes a bit to get your food but I understand it's a small mom and pop shop restaurant and the meals are made to order. It doesn't feel or taste cheap. We are in town for a wrestling tournament and found this great place through yelp! We live on the other side of Ohio and don't have any Korean or asian restaurants near us and being that we are originally from Hawaii we looooove any form of asian food. This place was great! The food was so delicious. We got the Kalbi, spicy pork and bulgogi and an order of mandu. So so good! The family that owns it is so nice. Our waitress was the daughter in law of the owner and she was so great. Amazing customer service. The owner came out multiple times to check on us as well. You don't find these kind of gems very often. My only complaint is that they aren't closer to us. We would be here all the time if it was! read more

My colleague and I had a late meeting in Harrison, OH, and decided for dinner afterwards. Given the area, we anticipated hanging out at Bdubbs or Five Guys for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised to find a hodgepodge of available cuisines, and even more surprised to find Korean food! Kim's is located in an unassuming strip mall behind a plethora of fast food restaurants. There's not much to the interior - but honestly, that's how you know the food is about to be GOOD. We started with the spicy chicken wings, which were sticky and delicious! They were fried with rice flour, giving the wings a light yet crunchy texture. I was absolutely THRILLED to see they had jajangmyeon. It's my favorite Korean dish and it's hard to find in Cincinnati. My friend ordered the beef Bulgogi. Both items were absolutely delicious, and there was A LOT of food. I ordered an extra side of rice to take home because of how much sauce I had; jajangmyeon sauce is also excellent over rice! The one thing I will point out - and it's not a complaint, simply a note - is that it took quite awhile for our food to come out. We were there nearly an hour before receiving our entrees, and we were one of only two tables dining in (it was a Tuesday night). It's rare I'm in a rush to be somewhere else when I'm this far out of the city, but be aware if you're on a time crunch. Overall, it was such a nice little find to come across in Harrison! Intimate, low-keyed family atmosphere, and clean decor that you can take in just standing in the doorway -- a few tables, then a few Korean tables -- low tables with cushions, then the back-of-the-house take-out window. But it's the food that absolutely blew me away. It was fresh, it was authentic, and it had that special quality that told you that they took time and care with each home-made dish. I have the Doegi Bulgogi Bapbap (spicy pork and rice). The pork was perfectly marinated, tasty, and the right level of chewiness. I also had the pollock fish soup -- dongae chigae, that almost was too spicy for me. But was amazed at huge medallions of carrots and the seafood in there. The shrimp in particular was fresh and plump. And then there was the banchon. I'll admit, I never get that excited about banchon in particular. These 5 dishes are meant to be garnishes and are usually some type of pickled vegetable (yes, always kimchee, which I do love). But this banchon was plentiful, and each dish was tasty and exciting. Overall, the food had that elusive quality I'm always looking for in a restaurant -- food that's homemade, made with integrity, and well, just real. read more

You get all theses little side dishes. Best was this cucumber kimchi. Then some kind of mushroom dish also very good. A few others all good. Not like a traditional Chinese food. I was recommended this place a few years ago but I'm never in Harrison. Today I found myself at big lots and remembered the recommendation and decided to yelp it. This had to be one of the highest ranked restaurants and I reviewed what people had to say and got excited. Now sometimes this is a setup for failure. You walk in expecting everything to be perfect and a few little flaws lead to disappointment. Not here. The good was spectacular and the service was phenomenal. I was craving for Korean food and thank goodness there was one in Harrison. It's so hard to find Asian food around the tri-state area close to where my husband is from. The owner took our orders and served us. He was very nice. The owner is a veteran and my husband was able to small talk with him about his time in the military. His wife cooks the food. I ordered the tofu soup and it was delicious! The side dishes were awesome. I liked that there were more than 4 side dishes offered. My husband enjoyed the food as well.
