The prices are generally about the same as the supermarket located across the carpark, but the quality is much, much better. You know the difference between supermarket bottom-dollar-to-the-producer crap and quality fruit and veg when you see it, and obviously so do these guys. They're a friendly bunch. They're keen on helping their customers. I've seen them carry shopping bags out to customers cars many, many times. I pretend I'm too manly to accept such offers, so I take my groceries myself, but it's demonstrative of a business that values the people that frequent its premises. In particular, the tomatoes scream out for my attention. They are red, plump, and firm. The also taste as good as they look. Much better than a flavorless Woolworths tomato. The shop is pretty small but it houses a surprising amount of variety. Everything from veggies and fruit, to herbs, and even some deli goodies. Top Shelf Fruits have two other locations in Melbourne, neither of which I have been to. If they are as well stocked as their Brentford Square counterpart, it's probably worth a look.

Peter has the locals smiling when shopping at his little store, and his fruit & vegetables are always at a comparable price. Best of all, his produce is fresh, and safe form sprays and chemicals you'll get on your food at any of the large supermarket chains. Aswell as fresh fruit and vegies, this fruit shop also stock a selection of gourmet sauces and pastas, mostly of the Maggie Beers collection. Fresh flowers are also available every day of the week, and the footpath outside the store always breathes some colour into your day. Although it may be odd to review a fruit and vegetable store, they are all different. The simple addition of good customer service is enough to rate this store and give it a shout out to all you Yelpers.

I went to Rakis…read moreand had a long consultation with the staff about exactly what I was wanting to achieve and had pictures to show them and was assured that it could be done. I'd just had my hair already ruined by others so was already stressed about my hair which they knew about and bagged out the work I had done before and were adamant that they would get me to what I wanted and that it would be easy. I was so excited to go in for my Thursday night appointment to get my hair back to what it looked like! Well that's where the excitement ended! I was there for well over three hours and my lovely blonde colour I had all disappeared and I was left brown with some blonde foils! What I was wanting was balayage with blonde also fanning around the front of my face with a good root stretch. I actually cried in the chair it was so far away from what was discussed. So again I was not listened to! Too add insult to serious injury I was quoted $345 at the initial consultation. I was approached with a $505 bill before my service was over as they wanted to close off the register as it was nearing 9pm (I had been there since 5:15pm) I said "wait this is slots $200 more than I was quoted!! They went and worked it out. Came back and said they would charge me my quoted price but basically I should have been great full I was only being charged that as I did receive a "full service"... like what the actual F!! Your staff were the ones who did the consultation and quoted me the initial price!! Why the F should I be doing a backflip for not being charged an extra $160 than I was quoted?? It was so condescending. I spoke to them the next day and was offered my full money back however they asked for a chance to fix it. I wish I had of taken my money and gone elsewhere!! Isn't hindsight wonderful! I went back in on the Saturday morning. Again showing pictures and explaining what I wanted.. well this time I turned out pretty much all blonde!!!! Still no balayage at all!! I left further messages with comparison pictures.. the owner Stavros phoned me. Well what a delight! I was repeatedly insulted.. he wanted to see my hair so I went in Friday after work. He accused me of pulling my hair back so it looked more blonde in the pictures and as he said that he flicked my hair roughly over my head.. said if I didn't want foils why didn't I say something to them when it was getting done, that the picture I showed them the girl has thick hair and mines not that thick.. like I know that buddy but the way it's done can be done on my hair!! When I got upset he asked me why I was getting so upset "it's just hair" um your WHOLE BUSINESS IS BASED ON HAIR!!!! You charge men and women a fortune to get their hair done yet you can't even do it right! Apparently also I'm the first time they have ever had someone complain! I wish I had of checked the reviews prior to going in!! I will never walk in there ever again!! They are refusing to refund me as they have provided the service!!! I'm so so mad! Not only was this costly, time consuming and hair damaging, I was insulted and still do not have what I went in there for! Next step is consumer affairs! Thanks for nothing Rakis!!

Being the crappy husband that I am when…read moreit comes to knowing what to buy my wife for birthdays, Christmases, anniversaries, just-becauses, etc, I generally have no idea, and end up falling back on the tried and true successes that I've had with the combination of teddy bears, chocolates, jewellery and perfume. This place has helped me with the latter quite a bit. Hell, I didn't know what sort of perfume my wife used before I went into the store. There couldn't be that many, right? Oh my god, I had no idea. There's hundreds. Thankfully, the shop assistant was able to help me narrow down my selection, and I can say that my better half was very happy with her gift. I don't know if the prices are good or not, because it's not something I shop for very often, but I was very happy with my experience as a customer.
