When we moved to Arizona we were nervous about finding a photographer that we could grow with through our years. We think it's so important as we change to capture us growing and changing through the years and Bailie freaking gets it! From scheduling our first photoshoot to our most recent she is the freaking Queen! She is a mom of 4 and has always been exceptionally timely in scheduling and turnaround. She shows up to shoots on time and is very in the moment with you as she works her magic. Each year, we reach out to Bailie to schedule our shoot. She always goes above and beyond to ask our preference on locations - even sending us new ones she finds as she gets closer to our date if we haven't decided on one yet. And even when we do pick - she is there to guide us and recommend new locations if she feels grounds, weather, colors just aren't right. I appreciate her proactive approach to always creating a great backdrop. For locations she has captured really important, memorable spots for us. She not only captures us perfect but ensures the backdrop is just as perfect. When working with her - she makes you feel so comfortable. Even during our first shoot, she created lots of small talk and really got to know us. She has continued to form a relationship with us for the past 3 years making it easier and easier to shoot with her because we are prepared for her hilarious prompts or awkward poses that she promises will come out amazing and I swear she nails them every single time. For our latest shoot, she allowed me to send her a Pinterest inspiration board of ideas and went above and beyond in selecting the perfect location to match the vibe, captured poses from the idea board, and even made sure she captured our Jeep we wanted in the shots. She is open to ask, direction, artist freedom and more and you would be missing out if you missed scheduling with her. Her turnaround time is also top notch. She has never missed a promised turnaround time in all of our shoots and she not only sends you sneeks early but she captures a Polaroid for you to keep as a memory too. When we first found Tiffany and Desert Hearts Photography, we were so excited! We loved her style…read moreand her work was to die for. She even said she was published in magazines! (And in our budget? WHAT?? Total score!) We thought we finally found our photographer for our wedding. From the get-go, Tiffany made it clear she was selective on who she chooses to work with. We understood and actually appreciated this characteristic of hers as vibes, styles and opinions should match to make everything work well. After a few emails back and forth, and following each other on Instagram, we put down the deposit, signed the contract and waited for the timeline which she said would be the next step. I sent an email to her a few days after putting the deposit down asking if we could hire a videographer since she did not offer it and to make sure it wouldn't violate the contract, as well as when to expect the timeline. From prior experience with photographers with poor communication, after 2 days without an answer, I sent a follow up email to make sure my messages were going through. I understand people in this industry get very busy on the weekends, so I included my phone number and said if that would be easier for her, she could reach me that way. I was expecting a reply of "hey sorry I was busy, here's the timeline.." or something along those lines. The response I got back took my breath away. Without any warning, she stated that she was just too busy to photograph our wedding almost an entire year away and had already processed a refund of our deposit. I was flabbergasted. I sent a reply asking if we had done something wrong to make her change her mind? She never sent an email stating any issues on our part, or replied to any of my questions. No reply at all actually as I write this 3 days after getting this horrible news. The bad taste that Tiffany and Desert Hearts Photography left in my mouth has not been washed away. No, she does not "owe" me an apology or an explanation, but simple communication would've taken her a long way; I probably would've still given her a nice review had she done any sort of follow up. This is the first time I'm having to hiring people for the best day of my life. I'm new to this, so to have this as my first experience in planning my wedding is extremely disappointing. I am now weary of every photographer I talk to, worried that they'll cancel without any sort of notice like Tiffany did. The only positive thing she did was refund our deposit that could go towards someone else now. Seeing as she has limited reviews across all social media, I hope this finds the future brides and grooms who are interested in her work and might have have bad experiences with other photographers, thinking she might be different. She is not different. Her work is great, yes. But her client care leaves you feeling like YOU did something wrong to HER when she is a vendor for YOUR big day. Two things I know for certain: my wedding will be photographed by an amazing photographer and Tiffany and Desert Hearts Photography will not be there.
