When I got back to Boone, I went to Mr. Hencrick's office and paid the full $300 that he wanted in order to fight my case (or at least I thought). I felt left in the dark the whole time, so I decided to shoot him an email stating the things I hoped to accomplish. I waiting for a reply (I wanted to request the body cam footage of the officers from the night because I felt as if my rights were infringed upon). Somehow they sent an email to the wrong destination (not the one they had previously emailed me at) telling me that Mr. Hendrick decided he wants to drop my case. No call or anything. So, when I called the office to ask about my case, Beth Hardy told me to read the email and call if I had questions (the email stating that I would no longer have an attorney). Later on, I called back and was asking questions. Mr. Hendrick did not give a valid reason other than he basically did not want to do more work than he had to for my case. -He stated, "the fee I quoted you was to negotiate a deferred prosecution and didn't include any other work...". You get the point. I would have been happy to negotiate but I guess the outcome no longer mattered to him. Now I am left to find an alternate attorney in one week thanks to Mr. Hendrick.
