I never got around to doing it and after we got married I contemplated it all the time. I don't know why I waited so long to finally do a photo shoot but I wish I had done one sooner! What I never realized is that as much as this experience would be a gift to my husband, it was also a long overdue gift to myself. Kim made me feel automatically at home, she offered me a water bottle and had fun music playing. She looked over the different "outfits" I had brought with me and talked me through different look ideas she thought would be fun and make me feel good. We picked a few different looks and started taking pictures! Kim was always sweet and easy going from giving me directions to giving me compliments. Every picture I have from her is flawless and perfectly edited to highlight not hide. Being in your underwear can make you feel pretty naked but Kim always made me feel beautiful to be in my own skin. She is a very talented woman and I feel lucky to have been able to work with her. Next step is a nude shoot! LOL

My husband and I used her for "post-wedding" photographs. I cannot say enough great things about Holly and her talents! She was extremely professional, on time and efficient. Our photo shoot on the beach, in Manhattan Beach lasted less than 30 minutes and she got so many great shots. That SAME evening she emailed me four photos to check out. In the mail, about a week later, I received a portfolio with about 60 prints, both color and black and white, as well as the CD with all the shots. I have received amazing compliments on the photographs! Holly loves children and who can tell through her photographs. She makes children smile and catches them with natural light. So when I was planning for the arrival of my first child, I sought to find something different than just your average "newborn" photo shoot. I found Laura and i am so thankful I did. I knew from looking at her work with families that she had an amazing eye for capturing candid moments, and so I took a shot and sent her my pinterest board...filled with non-conventional, moody, shadow photography and those elusive hard-to-catch shots of pure candid magic. A tall order for any photographer. Within hours, Laura responded to me and was excited for the job. Our shoot was perfection. She came to our home, worked around our schedule and insisted we didn't have to clean up anything (music to the ears of a first-time parent with a 3 week old baby, recovering from a c-section) - she'd make it all work by blurring backgrounds and using light, etc. She was unfazed by my nursing in between shots and needing to take breaks for napping. Always a calm and quiet professional. She was so good with the baby. Never tried to put him in a weird position or make him uncomfortable to get the shot. That's just the thing with Laura...she captured the true essence of motherhood by just being an observer. The whole shoot only took around 2 and a half hours and she gave us so much more than we were hoping for. Those first few weeks of motherhood are such a special time... So sweet. So exhausting. SO hard to put into words. But Laura captured it all. One of her shots of my new son and I actually was selected from hundreds to be featured in one of LA's most prominent portrait exhibitions. What an honor to have had her take these shots for our family. I'll be coming back to her for all our future photography needs for SURE!!!!

She's just an artist with a great eye and passion for her work, and the result is such a gift. She was super flexible with us as we did a family shoot with our 1 year old, dogs, and grandparents... quite a circus at our house! She was patient, a great observer - which led to some really special candid shots, and very low-key. She moved quickly - a bonus for my husband and dad who didn't really want to take family photos - but still managed to get great shots and everyone was still smiling (and tails wagging) at the end. Every time we look at the photos, we just smile. We will absolutely be using her in the future as our family grows!

Not an easy combination, but that being said, Lily is AMAZING: she is super talented, open, creative and very easy to work with (and has amazing style to boot!) We signed up for a maternity family shoot after reading her yelp reviews. That being said, you still never know how things will turn out, but Lily arrived early on the day of our shoot, scouted the location and had great ideas for various settings to shoot. She was also very open to what I was looking for - minimalist, natural, lifestyle photography - which I feel is her strong suit. Lily immediately put us at ease with her easy going attitude (which lent itself to great photos!) and she was exceptional at working with our 4 year old. About 9 quick days after our shoot, we received our proofs, and we were *so* thrilled. Honestly, having a 4 year old (who can't sit still), I thought would have its own challenges in capturing decent photos. Not the case - Lily eloquently captured our family's spirit and we couldn't be more grateful to have photos of this fleeting moment in time. If you want a professional who is easy to work with, has no ego, and who will deliver the best results - definitely call Lily.
