Yet another (name your Asian country) restaurant which offers a pan-Asian selection of appetizers…read moreand main courses. Riviere des Parfums bills itself as "Vietnamese," but in fact it has some Chinese selections (like dim sum, for example).
This is not (repeat: not) a formica table, bright light Vietnamese "dinette" you'd find anywhere in So California (for example), but instead a proper restaurant. It bustled on a recent Friday evening, packed with people - groups and some couples on dates. You WILL need a reservation on weekends. We only got in at 21h30, and that was with a reservation!
Food was quite good, and I was delighted by the quality-to-price ratio. Nice to find good Asian cuisine, served nicely and thoughtfully, in a city/region sorely lacking in ethnic food. Chatted with the young, very pleasant owner for a bit, his family emigrated from Vietnam years ago.
