I spend a lot of time here. Not for the College of Continuing Ed, but because the College of…read moreSustainability is on the first floor. They have a really nice work space in their office space that I like to take advantage of while I'm at the university, and the perks of having a kettle available are definitely not lost on this caffeine lover! The seating in the "common areas" of the Mona Campbell building (which is where the College of Continuing Ed and College of Sustainability are) is usually full of students, but if you can nab one it's a pretty comfy place to sit and work or to people watch. There are lots of students around all the time! The pizza place, Topio's, also does pretty great fast-food style pizza. A slice is huge and they have a decent variety. But I gotta say I much prefer their coffee - definitely some of the best on campus!

Named for the family that donated the building to Dalhousie, Stairs House is one of those buildings that looks small but is quite big. There are a ton of offices for most of the Faculty (but not all). More importantly, there's wifi for students and a small but under-used lounge in the basement, down a fairly narrow (and somewhat intimidating) set of stairs.

I fall into the latter category - okay, I've always wanted to run away and join the circus - so my sister arranged a birthday party here for me and ten of my best friends. Holy fun! Our little group had the facility - which is inside a warehouse in a business park in Dartmouth - to ourselves, while our young and flexible teachers patiently instructed us on the safest ways to dangle from a trapeze, jump on a trampoline, and swing from silks suspended from the ceiling. We had a great time and a lot of laughs at our own expense. Who knew that legs could bend that way? Ouch.

Since there are no reviews yet for Therapeutic Approach Yoga Studio I feel much obliged to share my…read moreexperiences. This is a fantastic place to practice! I went to a class at this studio for the first time about two years ago, and this summer bought an unlimited pass and practiced daily. I am currently enrolled in their Yoga Teacher Training program, and have nothing but good things to say about all of the wonderful people who work and train here. If you're thinking about doing your teacher training in Halifax, I recommend their weekends-program. It spans about 9/10 months and gives you a lot of time to practice teaching while going through the course. Mike, Maxine and Leslie focus a great deal of time on proper alignment and anatomy education, which is essential if you're going to be a safe teacher. The studio's focus is Hatha flow yoga; as well many of the teachers also implement principles from the Baptiste tradition. There is a weekly mediation class, as well as a couple of classes dedicated to the Ashtanga tradition. You will also find family yoga, yoga-dance and prenatal classes. The studio has been around for quite some time and you will find regulars and newbies alike attending classes. I recommend giving this studio a whirl. It is a very comfortable and inviting place to further your practice.

Very toxic, unprofessional, stressful work environment. My boyfriends sister who is Indian went for an interview and all they said was "oh your english no good", interview didn't even last 2 minutes. Constantly micro managed, harrassed, and sometimes others book and it becomes over booked then you dont get a break or lunch. Even while on lunch expect to be interrupted and be put back to work. Also you can expect the owner to call you 40 times a day. Your told the job description yet told to do things out of your job description. Many times patients would come out with needles still in them. Patients sometimes lay there for 30 minutes before the dr even go in. I quit due to stress, I mailed the keys in not knowing you couldnt send by regular mail. They charged me nearly $200 to replace locks. Honestly I feel like they just set the whole thing up because they are salty, if someone found random keys, I do not think they would know what in the world those keys were for. Over all just a bad experience working there. I heard things before, I should have listened but instead I learned the hard way.
