Anyway, I have never had so much fun shopping with an agent - and I was not living in Austin at the time I purchased the house so Russell made it easy by sending me everything electronically. He recommended a terrific broker to arrange financing who actually did not talk me into a ridiculous ARM mortgage and got me an excellent deal with affordable payments and no long-term hangover (her name is Melissa Meunch with Monument Mortgage and she's honest and very funny to boot). She guided my dad and I through the entire process of searching for, choosing, and purchasing our new home. She always made herself available and was very quick to respond to my calls, texts, and emails. She drove very far distances to show us housing options (from Austin all the way to Granite Shoals!) and continued to drive those distances when we eventually decided to move to the hill country and needed to submit signed documents, etc. She provided concise timelines (for my dad and I) and held others (agents, sellers, and brokers) accountable in meeting the deadlines she created.
