So after she visited Luminos and came back from her appointment with a big smile on her face telling me about her awesome dental assistant, I had to check it out. I'll be honest, I haven't had a dentist appointment in a while, but after her recommendation to me, I decided to go get a clean and check-up done. She was totally right. The offices are fresh, clean and stylish, putting you at ease as soon as you arrive, and the staff there are quite possibly some of the best that I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Whenever they were doing anything, they wouldn't make sure I understood what was happening, and I felt more at ease in a dentist's chair than ever. At least now I won't be scared to go for another check-up now!

My dentist promised the world, yet was out of her depth, and ended up wasting years of my time. To top it off she moved practices part way through my treatment and I wasn't informed. Anyone thinking of getting their teeth straightened, do yourself a favour and go see a proper Orthodontist. Don't waste your time and money going to a dentist for Invisalign when an orthodontist will in most cases deliver a far better result for similar money!

The 3 jabs of the needle I received is not as uncomfortable as it might sound. So yea, the whole appointment had a clean polish and 3 fillings put in, and everything was done and dusted in 1 hour. Went in to have a filling replaced at 350 dollars…read more Dentist told her she would raise the filling slightly to take the pressure off (no mention of price). Then was charged an extra 1000 dollars on top of the filling. My wife then could not chew as her jaw was out of alignment and was told she needs to come back and spend another 1000 dollars to raise the other side. This was for preventative work only, no costs were given and we feel tricked into getting treatment we would not have agreed to if it was discussed first. Dentist then apologized for not getting proper consent for the procedure. However it will now be the 5th visit and jaw pains persist, as well as being out of pocket thousands for work that was never wanted. Will never go back. Beware they can trick you out of a lot of money.

As I was leaving, I was informed by the dentist that she had put resin on a tooth in a way she didn't normally, and if it fell apart over Christmas, where the emergency dentist was. Suffice to say, I won't be back. I don't pay dentists to experiment on my teeth. Instead of doing a conservative job she ruined my bottom teeth by removing top portions and adding resin. I can't floss my teeth properley because the tops aren't flush with the teeth leaving food to get caught. My teeth on one side of my jaw are now higher and steeper than the other side. To increase vertical dimensions you need to have done specialised training which it is obvious she didn't bother to do. My advice, avoid at all cost.

So I'm new to the area and I need to visit a dentist as its been a few years well maybe a couple…read more So I ask my neighbour for a recommendation and she practically sings "yes I do know a good dentist and I have been using them for years", so she runs upstairs and gets the business card and she says "you have to ask for 'Mayank'" make sure you ask for him, make sure, she tells me about 100 times, drilled it into my head. So I ring them up and do what she says, the appointment is all set, I turn up and I am quickly attended to, the dentist comes in and I have no idea if he is Mayank or not but he is very good, very gentle. He gives my teeth a check and amazingly says I only need a couple of small fillings, don't dentists always say you need about 50 of them. Anyway in 20 minutes I'm finished, no anaesthetic needed, I'm a brave girl. And when I go and pay, I ask the receptionist, was that Mayank, Yes it was Mayank, Oh thank god or my neighbour would have told me off I'm sure. Oh and very reasonable price too. If you need a dentist do come here, I think he also has a practice in Mairangi Bay.

He does an excellent job every single time, great personality/service, great pricing; nothing more I could ask for. He owns and runs the practice at Birkenhead Family Dental, and has done so in the last few years since he bought the place and always works to improve the place. Great view of Rangitoto inside, cute fish tank and he has a great team on board.

I came across this local neighborhood dentist via searching on the internet, liked the welcome approach online, and called them up for a general check up, clean and some x-rays. Dr Daniel Hauptfleisch, the owner and head dentist at the centre definitely knows what he is doing, makes everything calm and relaxed for you, and with the help of his efficient nurse team, my dental visit was pleasant and productive. There is lots of space to park on site, and a great neat reception with a calming aquarium.
