The pub has won a number of awards and is the current CAMRA pub of the year for south west London. There were half a dozen mostly local ales on and a couple of ciders. Stuck to the ale myself and the 3 I tried were all in excellent condition. My favourite was the TSB (no link to the bank...or it would probably have left me with the same bitter aftertaste as my interactions with the institution have). The pub looks slightly unusual to me from the outside, but in a very cool way. Inside this is a charming relatively old fashioned pub with some coloured lights, paintings and adverts for local events. There are a couple of tv screens for the sport.

The Sultan is known by ale drinkers for miles around, but yet unheard of by many in local Wimbledon, Morden, Mitcham, Earlsfield, Tooting or Colliers Wood. Suppiled by the Hopback brewery of Sailsbury, the Sultan is a homely pub in the backstreets near South Wimbledon and Colliers Wood tube stations. It havely features real ale and has a dartboard, a regular quiz night, a small beer garden and takes card payments too. It has wine, but beer at under £3 a pint is knig here. There is real variety of real ale and this is the place to not mention that you drink lager, instead sit down, have some crisps, nuts and a pint of the Sumer Lightening or Stout. You will love it.

They sell real ale, Guinness, lager, wines and spirits here. A pint is £3 for a Kronenbroug and service often comes with a smile. I have not had the pleasure of seeing this pub busy and I have visited during day and night. Its clientlele are British, which it is worth pointing out is in contract to the Tup and GJs o the same road who have a real mixture including a lot of South Africans and eastern europeans who have moved to the area of late. I get the feeling the Royal Standard might not be around in a few years time if people continue to neglect it. It is a shame because I have just realised that I would mourn its passing.

It's the only cask ale that I noticed was available, but they had quite a few other draft beers on tap, many from what I guess is a local brewery. I'll try those next time! My pint was great, and the food was excellent. Our group had the flat iron steak with chimichurri, roast chicken served over a Caesar salad and fish & chips. All were excellent, I wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

The bar is fully-stocked with all of your favourite nectars and they have a special focus on South African wines, really good stuff. Sometimes you'll find DJs playing there on the weekend, but cheese on toast pop music is understandably the order of the day. The last time I was here I remember being pleasantly surprised: attending a birthday party in the cold, wet outside area I noticed a barman spray some firelighters onto a massive bonfire and light the flames. It gets so hot that you can't even come within 7m of the huge flame, and without a doubt it immediately warms up the whole area with vivid imagery and the sweet smell of wood burning. Health and safety nuts need not worry, the fire takes place in controlled circumstances.

Quite a sizeable auditorium that maybe fit 30 or so people. The screen size is pretty impressive for a small room. However the let down is the seating, I think the owners took shabby chic chairs a bit too far as some of the seats were so damaged we couldn't sit on them. But I'm sure the owners can sort this out. I'd definitely come back for movie events it's a cool place to watch films and eat the delights from the kitchen including corn dogs and lambs balls! Upstairs in the library was where the spy game was held run by Agent November. Pretty fun 'who done it' game. If they hold any more decent film events I'll be down in a flash, a good excuse to check out the rest of the pub.

Not only if there usually a decent selection of films planned each week - you can put in requests! It makes a nice change from sitting on the sofa at home to having dinner and a film on the comfy sofas. When Bake Off is showing they've even baked (free!) cakes for us which is amazing!

I have only eaten here a few times, and the food has always been perfectly decent: the main issue in terms of both food and drinks is that it is quite expensive, reflecting the area it is in. A couple of pints of lager, with some snacks, won't leave much change out of £20. But the upstairs Terrace in particular is a nice place to chill out, and it feels away from the hectic traffic of the Broadway.
