This club is under investigation for numerous allegations of physical and mental abuse. Upon arriving, the door was closed even though the place was open to the public. I waited at the door for about 10 minutes until someone came and opened it. Once inside, I waited in the line designated for events and parties for 10 minutes, but no one came to assist me. I then went to the general customer service line and waited until I was served. At no point, either by phone or in person, was I informed that I could only enter the room to decorate 10 minutes before the party started. I went to the room to decorate, and after decorating, I was told I would have to pay $100 to keep the room decorated until the party time. My guests called me to ask me to open the door, as it was still locked. When I left the door open, the manager went and closed it. I told her I had left it open because the door was closed and people couldn't get in. She was incredibly rude and told me to go and see if the door wasn't already open. She was very rude to my guests and even added a child to my guest list who wasn't mine. In short, terrible service, and I do not recommend this place to anyone for a party.

If you're nervous about starting crossfit, this is a great gym to start off in. A majority of the coaches are women, classes are diverse across age, gender, and race, and they are queer friendly, all of which are very important to me! Every month they have a 101 class that's meant to be an on-ramp course to ease you into "normal" crossfit workouts. They often run deals on these classes that bring the price to around $50 for two weeks of 6 classes, with a deal of ~$50 for unlimited classes in the first month after 101. Membership prices vary depending on how often you want to come in during a week: 2x, 3x, or unlimited. The schedule offers a lot of flexibility--there are a few early morning workouts during the week, noon workouts on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and 5 pm workouts (and later) every weekday (5:30 on Fridays). The noon and 5 pm workouts mean that it's very easy to pop into the gym if you work in downtown Lansing and live elsewhere, as I do. On Saturdays they have morning workouts (usually partner workouts which are beginner-friendly) and Sundays they have open gym from 2-4 pm.

Still wearing masks?!?…read more The instruction is good, but they still make the kids and parents wear masks. Other sports/sports venues in the area have dropped this requirement. Restaurants, stores, barber shops, salons, gyms, etc. All places with similar or closer contact. People got the vax so they wouldn't have to deal with this. If it were 2020 or early 2021, I'd deal with it. If they were just following a state mandate, I'd deal with it. But not now. We will be looking for lessons elsewhere...

There's been some turnover which is expected and my son would move to a teacher until he found one he was comfortable with. We love the program, the warmth and the viewing area. They also do special events. Family swim is fun for a rainy or cold day.
