It looked like Ganondorfs crib. I get why Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald moved out here. My pen was flowing in France, it damn near cured my writer's block. We've walked by this park so many times. We frequent the playground quite a bit. There are two…read moreplaygrounds but one is at a charge but looks really interesting. The area is always bustling since it's close to Rue Montorgueil. The church is quite epic looking that towers over the garden and people are always in the park even in winter snacking and chatting with their friends/families.

There are many different play areas for…read morevarious age groups and the bigger kid areas are adequately separated from those used from the younger kids. This was good planning. The play areas were nice sized and there is also a large perimeter fence around the entire area. there were plenty of slides and car and train mock ups for my son to play on for about an hour or so. There are covered areas and many benches for the parents to sit and watch. There are also restrooms in the back and a small cafe area at the entrance. Why only 3 stars instead of 4? I give the playground 4 stars, however the fact that you must pay seemed a little unusual. I could even maybe understand if you paid by the number of kids, but you must pay for adults too. I think it may have been 2.50 per child and 1.25 for each adult.

We booked a guided tour for visiting Versailles. The…read morecompany sent a van to pick us up ( 7 pp ), and the guide met up with us at the gate. He then led us in, cutting that looooong line of people who arrived by bus. We visited the Gardens first ( beautiful gardens, the old hunting areas...) then led us through the chateau. The crowd is unbelievable, but they made us move along, stopping at the rooms to hear the description. It's so amazing. Then back to the van, and we visited the Grand Trianon, then the Petit Trianon. Here they don't allow the private guides, so we visited on our own. The gardens here are beautiful with flowers and lilac trees and cherry blossoms trees. Then back in the van and back to Paris. The visit lasted about 5-6 hours and we got to see sooo much.

When we were deciding on a ticket for the Palace of Versailles, we were going back and forth with…read morewhether to add on the additional trip into the gardens. Was it worth it? Really? ...omg, yes! In fact, I found the gardens to be far more enjoyable than the palace itself. This beautifully crafted garden is a sight in itself. It is MASSIVE. With only 1.5 hours left before closing, we were almost at a loss on what parts of the garden to really see and explore. We spent a majority of our time looking down at the labyrinth of beautifully decorated garden mazes. There are stunning views from above just outside the palace. Parts of the gardens also have comfortable rest areas with benches, and even fountains that do shows every hour. We were lucky enough to catch the fountain shows that were entertaining and beautiful. One thing we regret not doing is getting a mode of transit to make visiting the gardens a lot easier. I wish we either had bikes or a golf trolly to drive around to make it quicker to go from spot to spot. I recommend bringing some snacks here if you can so you can enjoy the gardens and make it almost like a picnic spot for your visit.

Is there such a thing as a perfect park?…read more That depends on the experience you're hoping for I guess. But on a recent Sunday this park checked every single one of our boxes, providing a chill place to spread out, picnic and frolic without the hustle and body-to-body bustle of the Parisian parks on a rare summer day. Located around 20 minutes outside of the city by car or train, it's enough of a jaunt to make the excursion exciting without all of the hassle of a long-distance trip. Tucked away off of the quai, there are no signs indicating where it's located which makes it even more of a hidden, insider address (tip: Apple maps doesn't have the location mapped so use Google maps to find it). The grounds are perfectly maintained and consist of large open grass where you can spread out, picnic, play ball, and sun bathe (attention: everyone needs to keep their shirts on and there's a guard that goes around enforcing the rule). There are loads of weeping willow trees where you can get some shade while listening to the sounds of the fountains in the duck-filled ponds nearby. There's also a geyser at the entrance where you can cool down under the water and for the kiddies, there are also a couple of playgrounds and even an enclosed aviary where you can watch birds roam around. Sounds pretty fantastic, no?
