However, I began experiencing pain from that tooth and attempted to contact the office for assistance. Despite having medical clearance from my OB/GYN, confirming that it is safe for me to undergo routine dental care during pregnancy, the office refused to see me solely because I am pregnant. Additionally, when I requested a copy of my X-ray so I could seek treatment from another dentist, the office stated it would take a few days because they "have stuff to do", delaying my ability to receive timely care. The front office personnel said her name was Kelly although I'm not sure if she gave her real name. I still haven't received a copy of my X-ray to take to another dentist who was willing to see me. We were trying to minimize another X-ray since I just took one but the office is uncooperative. The front office staff were extremely unprofessional and rude during my interactions. They repeatedly hung up the phone on me and refused to provide a clear explanation for the refusal. I had to use another phone number for them to pick up my phone. I believe this behavior was unjustified, discriminatory, and unprofessional, and does not meet the standards expected of licensed dental professionals

After moving back to the NOVA area, I was happy to get back to Lake Ridge Dental Care!…read more There are alot of dentists out there but once you meet the dentists & staff here, you'll realize you've found the best! If you have any gum issues DR FISHER CANT BE BEAT & Dr Karbasi is always caring and will answer any questions you may have. While some of the hygienists do come and go and have their own way of doing cleanings etc, you know what you'll get with Dr. Fisher & Dr. Karbasi which is most important, their chair-side manner is TRULY the very best!!!

I've hesitated to write this review, but after two years, I think it's time to share my experience…read more My family and I were patients here for over eight years, and while things started off great, the quality of care and professionalism gradually declined. It began with noticing that cleanings were becoming rushed and incomplete -- sometimes it felt like no real cleaning was done at all. Over time, that lack of thoroughness became the norm. The final straw came with a serious issue involving a financing plan for my son's treatment. Although I agreed to an 18-month, no-interest plan, the office enrolled me in a 24-month plan with 26% interest. It took me four stressful weeks and numerous calls and emails (many unanswered) to get it fixed. At one point, I was even told the account could only be canceled if I opened a new one, which felt coercive and unprofessional. As a Deaf patient, I rely on email communication, yet messages often went ignored. Two years later, I still haven't received the final statement or an explanation for the mysterious $125 credit that I was supposedly owed. Our new dentist also questioned the amount of work that was recommended here -- and several of my son's fillings had to be redone because they had fallen out, costing us $750 out of pocket. I'm sharing this so others know to review their paperwork carefully, confirm financing terms, and keep all communication in writing.

I will admit I was hesitant to go here based on the reviews. I needed an emergency wisdom tooth…read moreextraction and made an appt the same week the problematic tooth erupted. The receptionist was vague about her knowledge when I would ask her specific questions regarding the procedure and recovery time - however she did get me answers eventually despite my having to wait a bit on the phone call. I appreciated that. I am usually moderately anxious with dentists overall so when I searched up the reviews for this place they did not help at all! However this dentist accepts Medicaid which was the sole reason I kept my appt. To keep this review short- virtual paperwork, temp checks, and calling in to be allowed into the office has been implemented which are great covid precautions. And the consult and procedure was done under 30 min but it was thorough and elaborate nonetheless. I'm happy with the assistants knowledge and communication skills with post op instructions. And the doctor was kind, straight to the point and seamlessly performed the procedure and all I felt was pressure and I had MINIMAL bruising which is optimal for recovery. I have no complaints regarding this office.

I came to this office at Woodbridge Smiles for crowns following a prior root canal…read more During my appointment, I was told by Dr Kim my teeth were "too small" for crowns, something never mentioned in previous visits, including when the root canal was completed. I was repeatedly told to Google "golden proportion" regarding my teeth, which felt unnecessary and uncomfortable in a medical setting. The dentist would not move forward in the conversation until I googled this. The discussion then shifted to a recommendation for 24+ crowns and a full "Hollywood smile," which felt unrelated to my concern. I was not given a clear explanation of what was medically necessary versus cosmetic. How did we go from needing 2 crowns in my previous appointment to needing 25+!?!? On my first visit, I was never told I had cavities. On my third visit, the front desk staff, while I was in the waiting room, asked if I wanted to schedule fillings for "multiple cavities," which I was hearing for the first time in front of other patients. I was also referred to an oral surgeon without explanation. (I assumed it was for the crown I needed) At that visit, the surgeon appeared confused by the referral, stated the impacted tooth I have does not need removal unless symptomatic, and suggested I find a new dentist. Overall, I left feeling confused, overwhelmed, and without a consistent treatment plan. I also left in tears, which I have never experienced regarding dental care. I would have appreciated clearer communication and a focused, medically 'necessary' plan. Not a full reconstruction of my teeth, when I've never had smile insecurities prior. A plan that would've put $15k+ in the dentists pocket. Unnecessary and cruel. Dr S. also suggested it was completely unnecessary after the dentist walked out. Btw, THESE ARE MY TEETH! I have in no way ever had insecurities or felt like my imperfect, BUT MY TEETH, needed to be Hollywood perfect. Wtf.

From the paperwork all the way to the night guard at the end. They replaced both of my front teeth with crowns and used some new fangled high tech scanner computer to take 3-D scans of my teeth for the process. But it's not just this procedure that stands out. I mean, they came out better than I expected by far. But. I have been seeing Dr. Toyer and Dr. Toyer and their team for five years now. I can't remember a single doctors office ever that I've felt more at home. Everyone knows you by name. The pride Dr. Toyer takes in his work is evident from the start to the finish. And he's real hip too. Completely up to tomorrow on the newest tech to make your procedure a breeze. Oh and they do amazing with pediatrics. My toddlers love going to see them! My daughter had a major procedure done here today and Evie, Aritza and two other ladies (I don't recall their names) made it so amazingly smooth. After being a patient of this practice for more than 10 years, I've finally decided it's time to…read morefind a new dentist. For the past six years, I have continued driving approximately 45 minutes each way because I valued the care I had received here. Unfortunately, their growth seems to have far outpaced their ability to adequately accommodate their existing patients. Last fall, I had to reschedule a routine cleaning because I was the primary caregiver for my mother, who was battling cancer. I completely understood that rescheduling was my responsibility--but the next available cleaning appointment they could offer me was SIX MONTHS later. When life circumstances surrounding my mother's cancer forced me to reschedule again, I was once again told the next available appointment was another six months away. That means a routine dental cleaning was pushed out an entire year--not because I was unwilling to schedule one, but because this practice apparently does not have enough availability to accommodate an established patient of more than a decade when life happens. What makes this especially frustrating is that the practice continues to grow and accept patients despite existing patients having to wait six months for a cleaning appointment. If you're considering becoming a patient here, I would seriously reconsider. Unless you can book your cleanings six months in advance and guarantee that absolutely nothing will interfere with that appointment, you may find yourself waiting another six months if you need to reschedule. After more than 10 years as a patient--and six years of making a 90-minute round trip to remain one--I expected considerably better access and consideration for established patients. Unfortunately, loyalty does not seem to mean much when the practice has grown beyond its ability to accommodate the patients it already has.

Appearance: Easy to find the office and lots of parking! The waiting area was clean and well spaced. Staff: I went in to make my appointment and the younger lady at the desk was extremely friendly and helped me find a time that worked best with my travel schedule. She had an opening that Saturday but since I had plans she found an appointment for my cleaning on Wednesday. She provided all of my paperwork so I could be prepared to go on Wednesday. I also talked with the office manager Courtney who gave me a little background on the Dr. I would be seeing. Awesome first! The dental assistant that took my x-rays was extremely helpful in guiding we through the X-rays she was taking. I need all new photos and I was interested in Invisalign! She was efficient when taking the X-rays abs we all know how annoying biting on that plastic thing can be. She showed me my 3D digital scan of my teeth. My hygienist Lisa was so informative! She talked to me about my problem area and pre-warned me about what the Doctor might say about my wisdom teeth. I was comfortable the whole time and actually enjoyed the cleaning! I saw Dr. Tsai and he was great! He addressed my concerns about the crowding I have and the necessity of taking my wisdom teeth out. He also mentioned that I was a great candidate for Invisalign to correct my overbite and narrow palette.

1 Star - Profits Over Patients: A Shameful Practice…read more Do not go to this dental office unless you're ready to be treated like a walking ATM rather than a patient. My experience mirrored another review I read afterward almost word for word--which only confirmed how common and systemic these tactics are at this office. Like that reviewer's husband, I came in for a routine cleaning fully covered by my insurance. Instead, I was subjected to over an hour of X-rays and sales pitches from a rotating cast of staff members, trying to push everything from Invisalign (because of a minor gap), to a deep cleaning, two crowns, a filling repair, and even a wisdom tooth extraction--all totaling nearly $7,000, of which $4,700 would be out-of-pocket. When I made it clear I was only there for a basic annual cleaning, they refused to perform it, saying the other (expensive) procedures needed to take priority. Let me be clear: this is completely unethical. Never in my life have I been denied a standard cleaning because I declined thousands of dollars in additional work I neither requested nor consented to. To make matters worse, they tried to pressure me into signing an "agreement to pay" form before even scheduling any appointment or obtaining my consent to treatment. The staff member downplayed it, saying it was "no big deal." I'm a contracts attorney--I knew better. The document was likely unenforceable, but their attempt to coerce a signature before care was even provided is utterly inappropriate and predatory. What's most disturbing is that this isn't an isolated incident. Other reviewers have had the exact same experience: baiting patients in with insurance-covered cleanings, then refusing care unless they agree to high-priced procedures and out-of-pocket costs. This practice is not only unprofessional--it's exploitative. This clinic places profit above patient care, and their tactics are misleading, high-pressure, and frankly, shameful. I strongly urge anyone considering this office to go elsewhere. There are plenty of ethical, patient-centered dental providers out there. This one is not among them.

Very impressive first appointment with Dr. Uthman. He has a really warm bedside manner and explains things in a clear and comprehensive manner. Hygienist was also great. No need to fear if you haven't been to a dentist in a while. They are very kind, understanding, and nonjudgmental. Scheduling is kind of weird since the listed business hours aren't fixed. They are open Monday to Saturday, but it seems like Monday and Wednesday are their firm open hours while they may close the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays if there are no appointments. That means there is no one manning the front desk on the days the office is closed (can't make or cancel appointments, no one to answer questions by phone or email). They are open bimonthly on Saturdays (two Saturdays a month), but not every Saturday. They have an online contact form for appointments, but no actual online appointment scheduling such as ZocDoc. That's my main wishlist item for this dental provider. Other wishlist items: make new patient paperwork available on the website to speed up checking in and to get a printout summary of the visit of procedures done at checkout.

He is an excellent dentist, which is why it is so frustrating to experience ongoing issues with the office's customer service and appointment scheduling. Unfortunately, this is now the third time I have tried to schedule an appointment without success. The first time, I was placed on hold for over 30 minutes. The second time, I had to physically go into the office just to make an appointment because I was unable to get the help I needed over the phone. Most recently, I was placed on hold for over an hour. After waiting that long, I spoke with Diana and explained that I wanted to speak with a manager regarding these repeated issues. I was then transferred to someone named Cindy, only to find out that she was not the manager. At that point, I felt as though my concerns were not being taken seriously and that I was being passed around rather than helped. What is especially concerning is that several of my family members and friends are also patients at this office and have experienced similar issues with reaching the office, customer service, and appointment scheduling. This makes it seem as though these are not isolated incidents but rather ongoing problems that need to be addressed. I am sharing this because I genuinely value Dr. Uthman and the care he provides, and I would want him to be aware of what patients are experiencing when trying to contact the office and schedule appointments. The quality of care may be excellent, but the customer service and communication from the office need significant improvement. Patients should not have to wait on hold for 30 minutes to over an hour--or have to walk into the office--just to schedule an appointment. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that improvements are made, because the difficulty of simply reaching the office is beginning to overshadow what has otherwise been a positive experience with Dr. Uthman and his dental care.
