They accused me of "trying to go into the girls bathroom" the first time I came on my lunch break to visit my child. Forced to subpoenaed their video files which absolutely refuted this. Preschool staff are supposed to be trained in being a primary reporter for children's well being, it was shocking that they would so casually make an accusation of this nature and raised enormous red flags as to the type of employee culture of this preschool.

The Pre-K teacher was especially fabulous! The kids were using the Waterford Upstart program and our Kindergartner is entering Kindergarten more than prepared. The diversity was also nice. I speak some Spanish so I loved having my children learn some Spanish and gain some comfort with the language.

The differences between the two were like the difference between night and day. The check-in process here is so easy with the computer, which I love. What really sets this place apart though is the staff. I have not met one person that I'm not thrilled with how they care for my child. Everyone is very friendly and amazing with children. The polices at this daycare are exactly what we were looking for. Namely, the teachers are not allowed to use their cellphones during the day (which was not the case for our prior daycare). The facility is clean. My child feels comfortable and safe here. Finally, they will let you use re-usable diapers, which is another thing we were looking for (and our prior daycare did not allow for). I cannot recommend Kidz Academy enough.

He struggles with ADHD and has been to more daycares than I can count on two hands. Lion is 6 and went to Wasatch Charter down the street, where his days were very hard! Children's cottage would pick him up and his day would turn around. Many days when picking up Lion he didn't want to leave. This told me one very important thing! That's kids could be kids there. That he felt seen and that his needs were being met. He genuinely had so much fun each and every day! The 2nd thing I have to say is the director/owner Dave and his wife are truly angels. They went above and beyond for my family in multiple ways. You can tell when people truly care about others! And they truly do. Their care and standard for how they show up trickles down to the teachers and to the children. In a world where everyone is so busy chasing a dollar, that they can't pause to truly be present to others and their experience! I found hope at the Children's Cottage and to my surprise not just for my son but for myself as well. This pre-school and Kindergarten is great. We've had our daughter there since she was 3 for…read morepre-school and now Kindergarten. After pre-school her reading was impressive but one month into Kindergarten it has taken off! They do a lot of learning through songs and it's fun listening to our daughter sing some of them when she's playing in her room or just doing her own thing. The teachers have all been there a long time and are very good at their jobs. She has made a lot of friends and even though some of her pre-school pals didn't return for Kindergarten we've stayed in touch with them and the parents have been good to get to know as well. Others have made assertions about the security. As a parent with a child enrolled I will say that security at the campus is fine. Only an idiot would publish their security details online but having had my child there for going on two full years I am happy with what they do. Also the police station is literally across the street. Not near by, across the street.

And in this crazy world we are living in, I definitely don't feel safe sending my child here where anyone when a gun can walk in and shoot up the place. I even asked about this and their response was the police department is near by. Like that's going to deter crazy people. They refuse to secure their door. Other schools require you to be buzzed in. I'm not sure I will ever understand their reasoning as to not install a security door. This saddens me as I now have to send my child to a more safe school.
